For my first review of 2026 I give it up to an awesome business that's very New Year's Resolution savvy and something that there should be more of. In a cultural zeitgeist that's so accepting of alcohol, Non-alcoholic spirits have also finally become more widespread and of better quality over the year, so it makes perfect sense for there to be more businesses that cater to selling and spreading the knowledge of what's out there. So when I first saw the sign for Wallace Dry Goods pop-up in the neighborhood, my interest was immediately piqued. And since then I've enjoyed a few visits including for an awesome Yelp event. For my first visit way back when Wallace pulled out all the stops for the Yelp squad walking us through delicious mocktails, n/a beers, and hosting an informative Q&A that gave a great preview of who they were and what they were about. That followed suit for the second time when I signed up for a curated N/A Beer testing that really opened my eyes to how far N/A beer has evolved when I was enjoying seasonal pumpkin beers, coffee stouts, and then some. All of this comes from someone who still enjoyed going out after quitting drinking, but definitely felt the pressures and wanted to do what they could to make N/A spirits more accessible. And as the place that distributes a number of N/A offerings to several bars & restaurants across the local area, they're definitely achieving that! Going inside gives you full access to that knowledge and the ability to pick up n/a beers, ciders, wines, spirits (including a line from Danny "Machete" Trejo!), and everything you need to up your drink making craft. This is a very unique shop, imo. A space dedicated to bringing a cocktail/party drink with a no alcohol premise. The shop owner is very knowledgeable about the brands and variety. There is a parking lot a short distance toward Montgomery Ave. I'll be back. read more

Let's answer the biggest question first, dear reader: YES this NA shop's spirits taste as good as their alcoholic counterparts. Possibly better depending on the quality of the alcoholic spirit. The store itself is bright, well laid out to where it draws you in. There's plenty of items, however it never feels cramped. When I arrived there was another customer who was being helped, leaving me to explore on my own. In addition to the NA products they have accessories, glasses, tote bags, etc. After a few minutes I was able to consult with the sales person who guided me towards an excellent tequila. It was a higher quality so the price was not rock bottom - I think I paid $39 for it, and the tequila I bought at the state store was $36. I conducted a blind taste test with some friends - it passed with flying colors. One even INSISTED that his drink had real tequila in it as he was already feeling a little 'buzzed'. Amazing how our minds trick us, huh? I'll be back, as I'm finding that I'm not the only one in my friend and family circle who enjoys quality NA beverages. Highly recommend. read more

I stopped into Wallace Dry Goods yesterday and am already looking forward to my next visit. If you are curious about the nonalcoholic beverage movement, Robin has you covered. Her knowledge of and passion for the non-alc industry is impressive. Robin showed me around her store while telling me everything I wanted to know about the wide variety of products Wallace Dry Goods carries. The best part about Robin's service is that it seems effortless. She takes pride and joy in her work, and it shows. Her colleague Matt was also a delight. They served samples of nonalcoholic spirits while educating me about flavor notes, cocktail recipes, and the current state of the larger global nonalcoholic beverage industry. I learned that Europe, specifically Germany, is decades ahead of America in this industry. I visited Wallace Dry Goods for about one hour and learned more than I ever could have anticipated. The ambiance could be described as Whole Foods and Anthropologie's younger sibling. The pictures speak for themselves. I bought a bottle of nonalcoholic sparkling wine imported from Italy- Robin's recommendation. I also purchased a set of plastic stemless champagne flutes. I'm looking forward to popping the bottle and trying out my new flutes. Wallace Dry Goods hosts tasting events and workshops for folks who are curious about the nonalcoholic lifestyle. I'm hoping to attend the "Summer Beers" event, as there's nothing I love more than a cold beer (non alcoholic or otherwise) on a hot summer day- especially during this wicked heat wave. The last thing I will mention is the location. I'm a bona fide city girl, and Wallace Dry Goods is conveniently located next to the Ardmore train station. I'm excited to gather my friends from the city and take them on a train ride to Wallace Dry Goods to show them all the cute stuff. There are sober bars in the city, but Wallace Dry Goods is more of a store, lounge, or "hang-out spot" than a bar. It's bright, cheery, clean, and has a calming energy. Also, the bathroom is the stuff dreams are made of. Check out that wallpaper! I highly recommend Wallace Dry Goods to anyone who is considering a visit. You will not be disappointed! read more

Wallace Dry Goods is a pretty inviting and cozy retail space for non alcoholic beverages and ingredients. Being not much of a drinker, this place definitely caught my eye. Going in, I didn't have much knowledge of the world of non alcoholic beverages. Most of my experiences at restaurants are either a glass of seltzer and juice, or some version of a soda. And my experiences with retail spaces with non alcoholic ingredients tend to be seeing these goods in a small section in the corner. Wallace Dry Goods, does a fantastic job at showcasing their non alcoholic products, giving variety, sourcing locally, and even collaborating with Philly establishments. After peaking my interest, I had to chat with the owner and she was a joy~ Something that really resonated with me during our conversation was her inspiration behind opening the store. She painted the picture of "ever feel like partaking in a social drinking event but can't/not wanting to have an alcohol beverage?" Having a juice or water doesn't have the same feel as having a cocktail in your hand, hence the motivation behind nonalcoholic drinks or Mocktails. I was drawn in because I have always been that person at an event or table where everyone is ordering a drink and I would feel left out if I didn't order one, but I knew I wouldn't enjoy drinking it or even dealing with the aftermath. After getting the full picture, I saw the mission was more than selling non alcoholic goods, it was about reaching out to the community and giving them that option. The owner mentioned getting in touch with local businesses and mixologists in Philly to contribute to ever growing industry that is non alcoholic drinks. No more seltzer, juice, and simple syrup or a take on ginger ale. How about an old fashion, but non alcoholic? That's the goal and Wallace Dry Goods is here to deliver! Definitely give this place a try. I will be honest, some of these non alcoholic ingredients might not be what you expect, especially since some of it is the base version with the alcohol extracted out. So definitely chat with the staff and even the mixologist behind the counter. And if you are still unsure, no worries, Wallace Dry Goods has you covered. What an amazing space!!! We stopped in one afternoon to browse and get a gift for a friend. Well, we were both super impressed with this store! The aesthetic is fantastic, the woman that helped us was approachable and incredibly knowledgeable, and they had so many great options for gifting/home. We ended up buying a number of different options and will most definitely be back soon. BTW... besides the drinks, the glassware and other bar essentials for sale there are stunning! Visited for an evening reception and I really enjoyed the store and its products! I gave up drinking 30 years ago but I still enjoy beverages with sophisticated flavors, and I bought some delicious bitters, a gin-adjacent spirit, and some marvelous concoction called "No 3" that was like root beer grown up into a bitter old man (just like me!). Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Inside is welcoming and pleasant to hang out in while checking out the goods. I'll be back for more--I need more No 3! read more

This is such a cool shop. I recently quit drinking and I wanted to treat myself to some alcohol alternatives for our upcoming vacation. The owner was friendly and helpful. I was able to sample a few things and I ended up getting a bottle of Amethyst botanical spirits and a bottle of NA red wine. Now I can be sober and still enjoy wine in the hot tub with my husband during our trip. I'd highly recommend checking this place out whether you're doing Dry January, in recovery, pregnant or just not a drinker. There are so many good options to choose from! Once the weather gets warmer I'm sure I'll be craving a margarita and I'll be coming back here to get a bottle of the NA tequila. read more

Wallace Dry Goods has an inviting and organized space. As ( group of 6) we were really looking forward to visiting this store. We asked for a recommendation for non alcoholic DRY wine. The very nice sales clerk at the store highly recommended that we purchase this particular wine and assured us it was dry and not sweet. Upon tasting at home, the wine was extremely sweet. It was undrinkable. I brought it back to the merchant the next morning for a refund of some sort. As I began to explain why I wanted to make the return, I was met with the owner who told me that all sales were final and it was noted on their website. However, in the store there was no information informing the consumer that refunds are not permitted nor did the sales clerk mention all sales are final. The owner/merchant kept repeating in a cold and robotic manner that everyone has different taste buds. This is true, but our entire group of 6 felt it was unpalatable. I told the merchant that I would be fine doing an exchange even if it meant spending more money. She wouldn't make it right for the customer. Even if she offered me something minor for my trouble, or seemed truly apologetic that I was unsatisfied with the wine, it would have been a much better customer service experience . I am a huge supporter of local business, unfortunately I will not be visiting this store ever again. read more
