This place has a great selection of beverages. The staff is super friendly. There are lots of different things. I wouldn't say the prices are the best in the world but you are in a ski town so expect prices to be a little bit of a premium to what you normally pay. Harmony Beverage I normally don't leave reviews, but after what my son experienced this past weekend, I feel the need to speak up. My son (22), his cousin, and his best friend all over 21 stopped into this store while visiting the Poconos. From the moment they walked in, they were made to feel uncomfortable. They were not greeted and were clearly being watched and followed around the store. One of the clerks kept going to the back, making it very obvious that they were being monitored. I understand stores need to prevent theft, but that's not the issue. The issue is how it was handled. These young men were treated like suspects instead of customers. When my son went to the register and politely greeted the clerk, he was ignored. The clerk immediately demanded his ID, which my son handed over with no problem. Being carded wasn't the issue, the lack of professionalism and basic courtesy was. My son is a cybersecurity major at Penn State and was raised with strong values. He, his cousin, and his friend are respectful, hardworking young men who know right from wrong and would never put anyone at risk or do anything illegal. It's disappointing that in 2026; Black customers can still be treated this way simply based on appearance and should not be penalized or judged because of what those that look like us do. All of us are not bad. People should be judged by their behavior, not how they look. I hope management takes this seriously and addresses how customers are treated. No one should feel uncomfortable or unwelcome in a place they're spending money. read more

What a cool discovery, not only does it have a vast selection of beers-imports domestic IPA (some impossible to find IPAs) but they are a full blown old school candy shop with over 300 different types. They sell local honey, pickled products, glassware and regular drinks as well. Also lottery, roasted peanuts and popcorn made fresh DAILY! The employees are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about their inventory. The vibe is very homey, and fun. Best part though, they do free sampling every Friday and Saturday! read more

Nasty owner and nasty help. I will never go back. I accidentally took a piece of candy from my friends candy bag, not realizing that she had not yet paid for her candy and the owner went balaistic. I apologized and I told him I would pay for the piece of candy that I ate, and he still continued to follow me around and attack me even when I went to pay for the candy that I wanted to purchase. This was a wondrous experience. When I went, there was someone selling ammo in the parking lot, along with an ice cream truck. Entering, I was NOT prepared for the large pick-your-own-candy selection, the 10 variants of alcoholic slushie, or the full-sized bags of chips being sold (along with cigars and boiled peanuts, but I did not see these things themselves, only signs for these things!) They feature tons of local craft beers and any of the latest must haves. You'll find just a little extra something while your there too...amazing adult slushies, candies by the puound and fresh popcorn daily. This is usually my number two stop after shopping for food at Aharts when I stay in Lake Harmony. This is where one stocks up for beer... And the REAL reason to come here is all the candy they have! Here's the process: arrive, park, come in, get a plastic glove and a plastic bag and start filling in your bag with handfuls of all kinds of candy... all the favorites are there including some that I used to love as a kid and rarely see anymore (remember Zagnut?). $20 bucks later worth of candy... you put your bag on the rollers, pay the man (or lady) and a real get away has started... They had a great selection, however the staff had a very unwelcoming attitude and come off extremely rude. Being that there are not many distributors in the area I've stopped in on several occasions and every time I get an uncomfortable feeling from the staff and continuously insist my ID is a fake. In my most recent experience at Harmony Beverage, they insisted that my 100% REAL ID was fraudulent and screamed at me get get out of the store. I have NEVER had an experience like this at any other beer distributor and I refuse to ever give them my service. I have seen reviews of several instances where the staff gives people trouble when using an actual ID. Save yourself the aggravation and never go to this place. read more

The selection and atmosphere is very inviting at first glance. All of the beer is marked up and considerably more expensive than all other local stores. I went into the store with a friend to pick up some beer for our ski trip (we are both of legal drinking age). As we got to the counter the old guy behind the counter started grumbling to his associates and asking for our ID and saying it better not be fake. I handed him my 100% real drivers license (same one I handed to the police officer when I was pulled over the day before) and he proceeded to say it was fake and call me a "fucking idiot" and to get out of the store before he sends me to jail. I haven't had an experience like that in a liquor store before and I will never be returning to this one. Just go down the street to Wine and Spirits or the Wawa gas station and their staff is much more kind and courteous. read more

My friends and I rented a home in the Blakeslee area and were excited to find Harmony Beverage sells kegs. We purchased a keg on Wednesday and specifically asked if they were open on Sunday to drop off the keg and get our deposit back before we hit the road on Sunday MORNING - they said yes. Sunday morning we roll in with the empty shell at 10am to discover they do not open until noon. There was a gentleman inside behind the register who refused to come out and help us, screaming through the door that they did not open until noon. We felt completely scammed. He finally came out (to get in his car and leave) and we asked if he would take our keg shell inside - he snapped back saying no, and that if we just left it someone else could turn it in for our deposit (as if it mattered because we CLEARLY weren't going to get it back). So we left, figuring $30 wasn't worth waiting around two hours when we just wanted to get on the road for our 5 hour drive home. I was frustrated with myself for not specifically asking about their hours on Sunday (at the time we were just excited to get home and tap the keg), but the behavior of the man behind the counter in the store (the owner I believe) was absolutely ridiculous. It was as if we threw the shell through the store window and then peed through the hole in the glass. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN. The man inside was flat-out cruel. Completely unnecessary. So I'm not sure if you know, but in PA if you want to get beer you can't buy it in the supermarkets. I don't know why but you can't. Hence this place is booming. The man behind the counter is friendly, though he will ask you for your passport, ID, birth certificate etc just to buy a case of woodchuck cider. --_-- Other than that the candy is good, and something tells me some of it is homemade-ish. =) Good prices, and great selection. read more

I always buy beer from here. 100 times better than the beer distributors at Mt. Poconos. It is conveniently near the turnpike, route 80, 940 and 115. They also fill BBQ tanks! Everything you need before a party or a long weekend. Check their times of operations before you make the drive! read more

One of the things I love about being in PA are the beer distributors. Having went to college in PA, I am very familiar with how the whole alcohol system works, as it is much different than being in NJ. To start, you can't really buy beer and liquor together. You get your liquor at a liquor store and your beer at a beer distributor. I was with a group of guys in the Poconos and we needed a place to stock up on some beer. After driving around for what seemed like forever, we finally arrived at Harmony Beverage. It is located very close to a couple of the resorts up there - we were staying in Lake Harmony and this place was about 10 minutes away from where we were staying. There were 30 packs stacked on 30 packs - almost all the way up to the ceiling. A very impressive selection. After selecting our beverages of choice, we headed to the register and the register almost has like a "rolly bar" slide system, so you can just slide your beer up to the register. Something you would see on a factory line. Harmony Beverage also has a very impressive candy selection. The only real knock I have on this place is that the prices were a little high for what we got. I will just say that a domestic light 30 pack was about $2 more than I pay in NJ. I found that strange because I always remembered PA beer prices being cheaper than what I paid in NJ. Other than that, this is a good place with a massive selection. You will have no trouble finding beer here if you are in the area. read more

Seems to me that the precious review was written out of anger. In the state of Pa, the law regulates the hours of business on Sundays. Such stores selling beer or wine/spirits can open ONLY 12 noon to 5pm. These hours were set BY THE STATE, and any business found selling alcohol before or after those hours are FINED and could have their lisence revoked. The man is correct when he states that he should have asked what the hours were for Sunday, or stated the time he expected to drop off his keg. Then he would have been told the hours, and situation would have never happened. I have shopped there for many years, and have never had a problem. I love the candy, fresh popcorn and peanuts, in addition to the great selection of beer. A great store, and if you are in the area, by all means stop in and take a look around. I usually stop here when I need to pick up beer for a party or a hockey game. They have a pretty good selection of beers, which has been recently improved with new shelving in the store, as well as penny candy, fresh roasted peanuts and cigars too. Although some of the prices could be a little lower, as long as you look for the beer deals, you will get away without putting too much of a dent in your wallet. The peanuts are also very good. They have lottery and the service is friendly 98% of the time. Very few bad experiences at this place, great local business and will continue to shop there. read more

Came here recently to pick up some beer for a BBQ. This place has a decent variety of beer to choose from so if you're in the area, I recommend coming here. They should add a soda section in addition to selling beer. They don't take American Express so be warned! They have a neat rolling thing by the registers so you don't need to carry your beer so that was pretty cool. read more

The cashier was rude and was talking on her cell phone while ringing me up. She didn't hand either my license or credit card back to me and instead made me reach far over the counter to retrieve both. She snapped at me to flip my case over to expose the bar code. I think I'll be hauling my beer up to the mountains instead of buying it locally next time. read more
