Someone was always and asking if we needed a coffee refill. My bacon was cooked perfectly. Our server came back frequently to see how we were doing. This will be our new go-to diner for breakfast. This diner is a glutton's fantasy. The portions are out of control and could be the cause of at least a few heart attacks. But I'm sure I'm alone when I say their portions are just toooo big! The food is pretty decent diner grub. And the menu selections are endless. Breakfast is available all day, there are tons of sandwich options, entrees as well as Greek specialties. And all sandwiches and entrees come with what they call a cup (it's really a bowl) of soup. They're open 24 hours a day, which is great in an area where it's hard to find food after 9 p.m. It's pretty clean and the service is always great. read more

Solid breakfast with a huge menu. I ordered eggs, bacon and toast nothing too crazy. My toast was under toasted but everything else was fine. The side of bacon is like six pieces so that was a nice bonus. My only complaint was that the coffee tasted burnt, as others have mentioned, which was a bummer but not life-shattering. My waitress was really attentive, refilling my cup almost immediately after I set it down. I noticed that they had an assortment of baked goods behind the counter. Went here for a 1:00am dinner after a marathon day on the job. There were about 8 customers, three of them police officers spread out in booths near the door, three guys coming off a night of drinking, and two women making out at the counter between their mouthfuls of pancakes and eggs. It was about as close to Hopper's "Nighthawks" as Ewing gets, I think. This was a much different scene than my last visit for Sunday brunch, and it was just as good. With fewer people in the house, and because I was dining alone, I was able to appreciate the setting a little more than my last time. The interior is really nice for a diner. They have some fancy light fixtures, and the booths are really new and everything is really clean. My Cobb salad was really good. It was about half meat: big slices of chicken breast and many bacon strips. The rest was tomato slices, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs (they need to learn how to prevent the greening of the yolk!), red onion, kalamata olives, and crunchy romaine lettuce. It seemed like the blue cheese dressing was bottled, but it held sugar cube-sized chunks of blue cheese, and it tasted fine. Tonight we came here for dinner. Our infant is in the capital health hospital nearby and we needed something simple and close. We were sat and approached by a waitress and ordered coffees. Another waitress, who looked and sounded like a meth addict, came and asked our drinks. The other waitress came back and the 2 proceeded to fight at our table over whose it was. Very low class and tasteless. From that moment our waitress (the first one) was just nasty and rude. I ordered a meatball sand. He ordered an African omelet lol an omelet with tons of sausage. Okaaaayyyyyyy.... My sand which was anything but a meatball sub. It was this weird square roll, open faced, with three meatballs on it chopped up...I guess so the slob cook could see if they were done. I'm a philly girl. I know a meatball sand. What that was I have no idea. The sauce was bitter and there was no cheese. I picked it up and it fell apart. I said screw it and chose not to eat the mess. My husbands omelette tasted like it was just filled with hot dogs and was burnt. The waitress never came back to check or refill coffee. When she did, I yd her to take the sandwich. Instead of giving any kind of concern, she was like, well what's wrong with it? I told her, this isn't a meatball sand, it's bitter and soggy. She took it and gave us the check with it still on there. I told management and they took it off. We are not picky snotty people. We actually came here the first night at the hospital at 1 am. No issues. We weren't looking to be butt kissed but we were tired, stressed out and the last thing we needed tonight was a run in with some shaved head punk waitress with a filthy attitude. She got no tip. And we tip servers very well for simple things like pancakes. And from what I observed, there were other waitresses there just as sloppy. A lot of arguing behind the counter and customers approaching staff on foot for more coffee and checks. It wasn't even busy. I have diner owners in my family and if I would have known this was going on in our restaurant, she'd been sent home and not invited to return. It's sad because the owner put so much $$$ into the place then hired trash from the streets to work in it and bring it down. read more

A GREAT diner. The low-star reviews on here are really not fair or representative of the place. I was a student at TCNJ for four years and stopped this this place at least once a week. The staff is always attentive and kind, and the food is good diner fare. One cannot come to a diner expecting gourmet food; it's just not fair. This is not to say that this place has bad food, it's great for a diner! The portions are huge, too. The decor is fun, too. It's a nice interior with tall ceilings and beautiful booths and tables to sit at. I recommend it to anyone. My favorites are the gyro and the reuben. Being Greek myself, I can say the gyro is GREAT for a diner. Also, most dishes come with soup or salad and a nice pile of deliciously prepared fries. Go check it out! read more

Stopped in after a crazy youth lock in for a 3:30 AM meal and was pleasantly surprised to get a fantastic spinach omelet with feta cheese and peppers and onions. The veggies inside were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch. The feta was great quality and the side dishes were perfect. As far as diners go this one is five star! read more

It didn't knock my socks off, but this is a solid diner. I've only been once, though. I have a friend who lives near there, so I'll likely be back soon. I ordered a burger and fries, and it was fine. Not complaining, but the burger was the preshaped frozen patty variety; the waitress asked me how I wanted it cooked, and because of its thinness, I imagine it would have been medium-well to well done regardless of my preference, but I'm a medium-well sort of gal, so it worked out well. Burger was not as thin as a fast food joint, but maybe a bit thinner than a Bubba burger -- though larger, circumference-wise. Tasty enough, though, and served with tomato, lettuce, and onion. Decent bun, too. Waitress happily accommodated my request for extra pickles, and service overall was quick and efficient. I loved the fries - perfectly crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. I got a cup of chicken orzo, and my friend ordered split pea with our meals. We were both happy with the soup. It was a chilly night and the soup warmed us up. It was my friend's birthday, so we ordered some chocolate cake after our dinners -- this was the weak link of the meal. The cake was kind of dry and crumbly; the frosting was gritty - not sand, but kind of like the sugar didn't properly blend, or something. This diner has declined over the last year. We used to go several times a week...now we go only if in a bind. All our favorite dishes have changed for the worst. Even the breakfast was downhill. STAY AWAY!! I came with high hopes, since a friend had recommended this place to me. I was greeted by an elderly woman who just sat me at a booth, and told me to sit on a specific side. Greeted by my waitress by asking if I wanted something to drink. Ordered prime rib off special menu, waitress said they don't serve it anymore when it was only 9:45 and they stop by 10. Ordered ribeye steak medium rare with sauteed mushrooms instead, got one with onions, green peppers, and Cajun seasoning on it... she said it was from the special menu( which they said they weren't going to serve anymore).. I tried it, didn't like it, apologized and said that I didn't like it. She gave me a look then took the steak away without apologizing, brought back a steak thats cooked medium...I didn't want to make a scene but I also didn't want to eat the steak, I had a feeling they weren't going to be nice about it if I were to tell them. The kind bus boy came by and asked if everything was ok, I thanked him for asking but the steak isn't what I ordered, so he said he will find the waitress for me. I told him no, that's ok, ill just pay for it and go. Meanwhile, I just wanted to get out of that horrible place, I called for my ride. He asked if I wanted boxes, and I obviously was so over it and was in no mood to continue eating there, so I said no, thank you. He grabbed a manager for me, she happened to be the same elderly woman that "greeted" me. She said what's wrong, I told her about my situation, and apologized for inconveniencing them. She looked at the steak said it's medium rare, it's pink. I told her no it is not, I pulled out the same picture trying to explain it to her. She just told me that she knows what medium rare is and I was wrong. I was shocked at the service. The waitress was just annoyed and loudly asking other servers if the steak was medium rare. I was very upset but I still tried to remain calm and be nice. The elderly woman looked at me and said there is nothing they can do, since it's already the 2nd steak( that they messed up!!!). I told her I just wanted to just pay and leave, the elderly woman walked away mumbling stuff which obviously weren't nice things. I was so upset that I said I want to pay for my soup, which was 3.50, and leave. I gave them my credit card and gave my only 1.50 cash with me to the waitress as a tip, even when I was so upset. She swiped my card 3 times, but the machine was down, meanwhile, my ride was here. I was so upset and was trying to hold in that I was breathing deeply. The waitress starting cussing me out saying the woman was trying her best to swipe my card, and I shouldn't have f*****g called the ride until I was done there. I was so upset that I was shaking at that point, I just wanted to get out. I was by myself, I'm only 5'3 and a size 2, I felt so threatened by them and felt like they were just bullying me for being alone. I took the 1.50 and said this is for the soup and I am leaving. The waitress chased me out, screaming and cussing at me and the driver. She stood in front of the car while cussing, she then moved on the side banging on the window while cussing, we just drove away. Seeing as I was travelling I figured I would try a local spot rather than a franchise. Walking in I couldn't tell if I was supposed to seat myself or wait, so I awkwardly waited until after about 3 minutes someone noticed me. Unfortunately that lack of attention persisted throughout the entire visit. I had one of the dinner specials - mac and cheese and crabcakes. The crabcakes were good. The mac and cheese was bland. The chicken elbow soup was also bland. The coconut cake was ok, but was mostly whipped cream topping. My husband and I live close to this diner and eat there often. Very large menu with lots of options. Breakfast is served all day. Portions are large and consistent quality. The french onion soup is hands down the BEST! It's always piping hot, salty with large pieces of onion, thick piece of bread and a healthy amount of cheese on top. We love it so much sometimes we go there just for this soup! There is never a long wait for your food once ordered. Some waitresses are more attentive than others. Overall a great diner. read more

I've been to the diner many times and have left excellent reviews except for this time. Went to diner today at @12:30...spent over $60 for lunch for me and my 2 boys tipped the awesome waitress 20% of my bill, got to register and bill was $60.03. Gave the cashier $60.00 and looked through my pockets for loose change which I did not have. I politely told the cashier I didn't have 3 pennies on me hoping she would day "don't worry about it" I was wrong in assuming so but for $ 0.03 I had to break another bill? C'mon Ewing...every time I'm there I drop $50 -$60.00 and I never leave less than 20% for the waitresses. This place is truly a diner which is awesome to see. We had a group of 7 come in around 10 on a Saturday and it was crowded but it only took us about 20 minutes to get a table. This diner is pretty standard when it comes to diner quality, but I would say its generally on the higher end, especially for breakfast. Went last week with my sis and her two little ones who were accommodated for very well. Decided to get a bacon egg and cheese on a hard roll and was informed that since it was lunchtime my order qualified me for the lunch special- my sandwich was also going to come with a cup of soup (which was huge), coleslaw and fries. All for $7.95 which is what I prob would have paid anyway. As I asked for my eggs over easy, the sandwich came out open-faced, with masses of bacon and a toasted roll. Great value, seeing that some diners might charge you the same price for the sandwich without fries. We've had some off meals here (their paninis, for example) but if you find something you like here, stick with it. They are consistent in terms of their quality. read more

I've eaten mostly breakfasts there with a few late night visits thrown in. The food is okay, nothing special, typical diner fare... I haven't had any "oh baby!" experiences there, but no "yuck!" ones either. The prices are a little higher than other diners (maybe $1-$2 or so on average) and the omelettes have gone from being 5 eggs to 4 eggs. On the plus side, you can swap out the home fries for grits, which I always do, and coffee/soft drink refills are free. Another plus is that they are open 24hrs... beats having to settle for drive thru fast food in the wee hours. I'll keep visiting it because it fills that need that only a diner can. read more

What a delicious meal! This place is very clean and very friendly. So happy we stopped in. They have 63 omelettes on the menu and my husband chose one--the vegetable omelette. It was gigantic. The menu states that they are made with 5 eggs. It looked like it, too. There were loads of vegetables, and it was so large, he took half home. I had the turkey dinner, which came with delicious chicken soup and a slice of pie. The turkey was tender and delicious, and even the gravy was excellent. GREAT STUFFING! I'm from NJ and spent many birthdays with my family there, and I quite like the environment. The severs are there whenever you need them. My family goes for breakfast for special occasions. The food is quite good. Overall the place is clean, however, the celling needs some attention. When we go in the winter, the decorations are up and it makes you feel comfortable, but one time the decor fell and a bunch of dust fell with it. read more
