The food was also good and reasonably priced. Everything we ordered was good - Greek meatballs, spanikopita and moussaka platters with side salads and lemon potatoes and a gyro platter with French fries and taziki sauce. We finished up with a semolina orange cake and a kataifi, which is a pastry made of shredded phylo dough with nuts, cinnamon and honey, and Greek and regular coffees - all very good. The decor is a nice blue, Aegean decor with relaxing music played in the background. Finally, a plus is that the restaurant is BYOB, so we brought a good Greek wine to complement the meal. Take out review. Had a nice little spread from Mikonos while staying in Bordentown last weekend. Not sure why, but they won't deliver to my home in Hamilton Square but they did deliver to Bordentown despite the fact that it is further away, so we opted to take advantage. I went with the Beftekia, which was the most underwhelming dish of the evening. Basically just a grilled hamburger patty, it was prepared and presented well, it's just...a hamburger patty. The lemon potatoes that accompanied were very good, though. They were much more lemony than many Greek restaurants prepare them, which is a big plus for me. My wife went with the small Liga Apo Ola, which is a combination platter that comes with moussaka, pastichio, spanakopita, dolmades and the aforementioned lemon potatoes. Luckily, she was willing to share, and everything was delicious, with the pasticho being the standout dish. We also shared a Grilled Octopus salad, which was absolutely delicious. The octopus was grilled perfectly, and the accompanying greens were tender and delicious. Finally, I wrapped up the meal with an order of Galagtobureko, which is an automatic for me whenever I eat Greek. Mikonos' version is more of a wrapped phylo-pastry version than I am accustomed to (I've normally had it as the custard layered over the phylo vs. being rolled in it), but it was no less delicious. I love this place. My family and i think this is the best restaurant in the area by far! I would always recommend any of their lamb or beef dishes. Their potatoes usually come very tart (the best way)! Service is usually a little slower, but I believe it's a smaller place and makes up for it in charm. Amazing Greek food, I'm a big fan of lamb & beef gyros but only if they're done right and they made it to perfection. Great tzatziki sauce and warm, soft pita bread! What a nice, unassuming restaurant to find after a day of traveling. The interior gives classic Greco-American flare with classic dishes- all delicious! My favorite dish was the Spanakopitakia appetizer. So warm and fluffy with delicate filling. The Pork Souvlaki Sitcks was very tender and easily shared among the table. Side salads were fresh and the Greek fries were fine, but certainly eclipsed by the other dishes. Oh and the baklava! Kudos! The chef was very approachable and talked with us following the meal. Ate here today with a family friend. My wife and I are very used to Greek food, since we live on the eastern side of NJ. Apparently, on the western side of NJ, Greek restaurants are few and far between, so this place is considered wonderful. We thought it average at best. First of all, the place really doesn't look as nice as the online photos. I guess it's because the photos are 5-9 years old. And maybe back then the interior looked clean and charming. Today, it just looked dingy, dirty, and old. No waitress, just the owner/cook, which was not a very pleasant person. We arrived at 2:15pm, and he MADE us order dinner. Ni assume so he could charge us more, since lunch prices are significantly lower on the menu. Agsinno waitstaff, just the cook even though the place was fairly busy. All items were served with a salad and lemon potatoes, whether you wanted them or not. Although our friend and I found the food fine, my wife was really disappointed. And we understand why. My wife ordered a classic pasticcio. Where we come from, that is a Greek type version of lasagna minus the red sauce, but with bechamel instead. Her entree was extremely small; obviously we were being served lunch size portions but paying for dinner prices. Her entree had maybe a teaspoon total of meat in it; it is supposed to be filled with meat in spices. No spices to be had, nor any Bechamel sauce for that matter. The 1.5 inch square piece was covered in tomatoes sauce. For those of ypu who do not know what Bechamel sauce is, it has NO tomatoes. It is a white, flour and butter based thick sauce, with sweeter spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger. None of this was on my wifes dish. How this man claims to be Greek, and how he had the audacity to try to pass this off as Pasticcio is beyond us.​​​​​ read more

Mikonos is probably the grandfather of all the newer Greek restaurants that have been sprouting up as of late. I was aware of them, but have no good excuse as to why it took me so long to visit. I'm glad we picked this for a late lunch date, and we both agreed it's worth revisiting. We started with the grilled octopus, it was served in a light and lemony vinaigrette with slivered red onions and a few greens tossed in. The octopod was tender and tasty, and really big enough for 4 to share. My dining companion chose the mixed gyro platter and she thoroughly enjoyed. I veered away from my usual kebab or gyro choices and went all in with the pastichio, my first time ever trying this. I was happy I did, although similar in form and structure of lasagna, this was very different and very good. I would order this again for sure. The lemon potatoes that everyone raves about were good, but I'm not sure worthy of a cult following. The chopped Greek salad that came on the plate was fresh and a nice contrast to the creamy and rich pasta dish. Not wanting the great experience to end we shared the "G" dessert and my companion also had the Greek coffee, which was so strong it could be said that it would curl your toes. The dessert was very good, filo dough encasing the custard and a light syrup drizzled on it. A great ending to a great lunch. As another reviewer noted, this location appears to have been a standalone fast food place, but once inside much care was given to make it their own and with a Greek flair. Came here for lunch as it's located right around my job in Trenton. Really accessible location with a parking lot which makes things stress free, particularly around lunch time. Greeted by friendly staff, was seated quickly. Decor was a bit dated but nothing too shabby. Straight to the food - I chose the Athenian Wrap with Tzatzki sauce. It was very fresh with a Mediterranean taste and feel. The Greek lettuce was crisp and refreshing. It's a really big portion, as even I could only eat half (along with the fries which were also well seasoned). Overall my dish was a 5/5. I tried my friends Spanakopita and that was also amazing. The crispy dough with the in your face goodness of the spinach really is worth getting. It came with potatoes which were also very good. Overall this place deserves a 5/5 however I do caution the service is a bit slow (waiting for food that is) so make sure you plan ahead and look over the menu prior to coming in rather than mulling over options or even consider takeout. read more

This is a casual dining experience that is good for college families looking for something other than a diner or sushi. After picking up my wife from the Hamilton NJTP station we took a look at Vijay's and Gerald's reviews and drove over to Mikonos. It was a short 10-15 minute drive from Hamilton. Mikonos is close to the Trenton-Mercer County airport and in a building that was most likely a Pizza Hut at one time. The restaurant is very nice inside and has a certain Greek island charm with the classic white and blue colors. We started with the Melitzanosalata, which is a fresh made eggplant dip served with pita. This was very good with interesting flavors. The pita was excellent. The main courses we ordered were the Beef & Lamb Gyro, the Lamb Souvlaki, and the Mediterranean seafood platter. The Gyro platter was excellent and the meats were well seasoned. It came with potatoes in a garlic and lemon sauce and more Pita. The seafood platter included shrimp, muscles and calamari in an ouzo and white wine tomato sauce. The sauce was unique, slightly sweet and delicious. We visited Mikonos on a Sunday night and there were only three or four other tables. Our server was great, checked on us frequently and chose a healthy slice of Baklava for us to share. 4 Yelp stars minimum. If in the Ewing are give it a try! read more

We've been here twice. The first time, about 2 weeks ago, deserved four stars. The second time, tonight, deserved one. So it feels like three stars is splitting the difference. Last time, we really enjoyed the dips (hummus, tzatziki, spicy feta). I enjoyed the special entree (a mixed grill of sorts), and the cookies and cream pie. My wife's lamb wasn't the best we've had, but overall we were happy. Today, we went with my 2-year-old. We were told they didn't have high chairs, although later on we saw another family with a kid in one. Fine. We got the same dips, and they were still good, although considerably smaller portions than last time. The chicken gyro was really not good. Dry, tasteless, small portion. My wife's pork souvlaki was quite fatty. The salads that are supposed to be included were never served. I would've asked for the salads, but I never had the opportunity. Because our waitress was seemingly the only person working in the restaurant during the dinner rush. She was taking orders, running food, answering the phone, helping people with takeout orders, etc. So I don't blame her, but if you wanted something, you were never going to get it. Oddly enough, that included the check. Because I had an antsy kid and no high chair, we really needed to get the check and get out of there. Couldn't get anyone's attention. After a while, I thought, maybe I can just go meet her up at the counter and pay. So I went up the counter and stood there with several other people who I think were waiting for takeout orders. After standing there for 5 minutes, and with none of us having been acknowledged, I gave up. I grabbed a menu, calculated what we should've owed, left it on the table and we went home. I feel bad about the negativity, and I want to emphasize again that the young lady working tonight was not at fault. Still, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We love Greek food, so will probably give Mikonos another chance -- but it probably won't be terribly soon. read more

This is a place we frequent for lunch from work. One of the most authentic Mediterranean food I've had, the food is absolutely delicious. The gyros, platters come with freshly grilled meat that's juicy and full of flavors. I always do a half and half of lamb and chicken which is not on the menu but they happily do it when requested :) Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the food at the moment.
