Went into the lunchroom and everyone else just kept saying how good it smelled. Service is great, such friendly people running it. It's super clean inside, good vibe, and the menu is expanded and has some great options. I am Hooked on the veggie platter. I add falafel, because their's is excellent. I have had the chicken, lamb, gyros, platters, and everything is delicious. One co-worker got some fish today and said it was awesome. We wanted Mediterranean food for dinner one April evening. After some web searching, we decided to order food from here because of very good ratings and reasonable prices. We got a lentil soup, 2 chicken gyros, a spinach platter and a monster platter. The decision to get food from there turned out to be correct one. A nice hole in the wall joint, in the heart of Trenton with pocket friendly bites. I got falafel as well as the spicy lamb gyro on my way back from a concert. The lamb meat was succulent but there was too much of lettuce and tomatoes packed into it. The portion size for the price was great! The only caveat here is parking, had to park in front with hazard lights on and had to whisk in and out of the store, and the neighborhood looked a bit sketchy overall. Spicy Mixed Gyro: The gyro was bomb. Amazing flavors and texture. Nothing was dry or overcooked, everything was amazing and to perfection. The side of extra white sauce went a long way. I think the only difference between the regular mixed gyro and this spicy one was the chili powder on top and also a few slices of jalapeno. For $8 this is a steal! It tasted amazing. 12 Piece Onion Rings: Something tells me that these aren't made in house lol The onion rings seemed too perfect with the breading and shape. Regardless, it was still good and they did a good job on getting the fry on it just right -- really crispy but not burnt. Paired with the extra white sauce on the side and these onion rings slapped and were a really nice side to the gyro if you got the appetite. The service here is phenomenal. Even before we came here to order food, we popped in and asked if there was a restroom. Not only did the man in the front tell us that there isn't one, he also helped guide us towards where in the area we might be able to find one, which I thought was very helpful and I really appreciated that. While dining in, the staff took care of us well and offered us extra white sauces, napkins, etc. It was especially hot that day and the man working the kitchen came out and offered us 2 cold water bottles on the house! Shout-out's to the kind staff working there, I really appreciated the service and help, and I'd love to be able to come back again in the future if I'm ever in the area again. I tried Gyro Express for lunch recently and I ordered my food to go. The food here is AMAZING. I had the lamb platter which comes with rice, salad, pita and of course lamb. You pick your sauce and I chose the white sauce (which they drizzle on top so if you prefer your sauce on the side, make sure to ask.) and it was delicious! I also added a scoop of humus for an additional charge. Everything was wonderful. The rice, fluffy and flavorful. The lamb was tender and delicious. The salad came neatly chopped and so fresh. It all went together perfectly. And the portions are huge! I had plenty for later. The prices are also very reasonable. A very nice interior too, super clean and well taken care of. They only have a small space to eat inside so I assume most people do take out. The highlight for me (besides the food) is the customer service! Its outstanding. Very friendly service! This was only perhaps my second time eating Middle Eastern type food and wasn't sure what to expect. The hummus was good and had the tiniest amount of heat that was pleasing and not overpowering for someone like me that doesn't like a lot of it. The lentil soup was thick, tasty, and filling. The chicken platter was very good. Just the right amount of white sauce. Nothing seemed too rich and the amount of chicken and rice was very good; I never felt like it needed more or less of anything. The baklava was good and not sickeningly sweet or anything. Went here for lunch on a weekday with a couple co-workers. It was quick, easy, and delicious. The restaurant is pretty small and only a couple tables, so I suggest ordering to go if you have somewhere else to eat the food. You order and pick up at the counter. We waited in line for probably two minutes and it was another three minutes to get the food during the lunch rush. We all got the spicy combo over rice which consists of chicken and lamb over orange rice with a small salad and veggies (onion, jalapeño, others that I can't remember). Everything has white sauce on it and I remember tasting a faint amount of mint. Apparently this is afghan style. The platter Has more veggies and better tasting sauce then what I was used to from the halal food carts outside of Rutgers Camden. The meat wasn't as good thought. These chunks of lamb were big, and the chicken wasn't seasoned like it is on the food carts. It was still A-1. I'll definitely be coming back. Five stars. read more
