Such a great concept! I love the option to build your own salads and wraps. With so many different options and variations, though the pre-set menu items sound delicious, customizing was so much more fun! I love the variety of dressings they have as well. You are really able to create something you know you will love. The flow of the shop is great as well. I'm not a fan of the hand off like what happens at chipotle so I like that you work with the same person the whole way through your order (thought I am not sure if this is how it is when its busy as well). Recently stopped by this reopened restaurant to see what they had! From service to taste, this was definitely top notch. We ordered two items, the Kale-Gate Party and the Mango Your Own Way, and chose the "Grain Bowl" option to-go for both of them. We opted for quinoa and brown rice as our grains of choice, and also added steak in the first bowl, and avocado in the second. The Mango Your Own Way was hands down my favorite. The light mango dressing paired very well with the salad. Surprisingly, the Mango Your Own Way bowl does not actually have bits of mango in it, which was slightly disappointing, but overall, the flavor and fresh ingredients more than compensated. The Kale-Gate Party was delicious too, but I would have preferred less cheese, being a non-cheese lover myself. We also ordered the in-house Agave Lemonade, which was surprisingly not too sweet, nor sour. There was great lemon flavor, and paired with agave syrup, there was a great sweet and sour combination that was not overly aggressive to my taste buds. My only two complaints were that the cookies that we ordered were slightly too sweet. However, they did have good texture, and for a sweets-lover, I would still recommend this. The bread was also slightly too dry (but free!), but aside from these two items (which were not main menu items), I would give this a 5 star review for fresh ingredients, and really just amazing staff! read more

Location wise this is in an excellent location. I really appreciated the service and their quickness. I did a create your own salad and asked for their salad dressing recommendations. I am very specific on my protein and their chicken is the exact opposite of what I prefer. The yogurt dressing was decent and they have good veggies. The lettuce was wilted so I had to pick around it. There was no one else in here and I am not sure if it's the time I went but it does not seem to get very busy every time I drive by. read more

After asking the employee about popular items and her recommendations, I settled for a El Sombrero salad with added tofu. I liked how you could add additional toppings and asked on dressing amount as well. The eggs, bacon, and tofu are free which is an added bonus- focaccia bread available as a part of the order too (very soft and good) The salad was light but filling. It seemed like the measurement is done first in the to go bowl then transferred to a hard bowl for orders dining in. The dressing wasn't noticeable at all as I got light but did enjoy the taste of Tillamook white cheddar cheese, very small jalepeno pieces to give kick, and added tofu. I do wish the tofu was seasoned a little bit and didn't see a lot of tortilla strips and tomatoes. My salad didn't seem as piled on into the dish compared to others. I wish the ingredients were labeled as it was hard to tell some of the ingredients if adding on and noticed the dressings were not on the wall menu but only on the counter side. The staff was very friendly with everyone they helped as I dined and kept the area clean while continously stocking ingredients. I do wish there were paper menus or a little bit clear on what everything was as I saw different signs about soup and premade special but wasn't really explained a lot. My first time here was a Yelp Elite experience and it was great. I live in NE Portland, and this location is not very good for me. I didnt forget about it, though, and as soon as I had other business in the area I made sure to include a return visit. First of all, everything is fresh and perfect. There are so many combinations of ingredients, toppings, seeds, dressings.... truly something for all us picky eaters. And the service is exactly what you hope for. Need a minute to decide? No problem. Need suggestions? They have good advice. Want some extra this or that? Substitutions? Extra easy on the dressing, or extra extra on the avocado? Here you go. All with a smile and never an impatient moment. We enjoyed our salads at an outside table and congratulated each other on getting some veggie power in our tanks. One of my go-to's for lunch in this area of town. Was so excited when it opened a few months back because it brought a relatively healthy option to the mix. I pretty much exclusively get the Italian salad (the Situation) with quinoa as a grain bowl. It's SOOO great -- I think my favorite ingredient is the mama's peppers, but note they'll let you add extra fixings if you'd like. (Veggies are free, there's a $3 or $4 upcharge for protein.) With this particular bowl, I recommend the marinated mushrooms and olives. They also will ask whether you prefer your salad lightly, medium-ly, or heavily dressed. The portions are fairly generous. Happy to see a salad building place in Cedar Hills. You have 3 choices a bowl, wrap or salad - fixings come pretty standard, with upgrades (proteins, etc) for a fee. Staff was very friendly and helpful - and the line moved very quickly. The price is fair for what you get, this time I opted for a salad. There are a few tables inside to eat, and a few tables outside as well. You go inside, place your order (starting at the back of the restaurant), and move up the line as they place in your fixings. While there is a menu on the wall of pre-determined salads, everything is customizable - so I recommend just picking a salad that looks good, and customize it as you go. I would like the option for a larger salad, but overall I enjoyed the visit. read more

Spotted Evergreens in my broader neighborhood the other day while eating somewhere else, so today I ordered online for pickup for lunch since I work remotely. I was super excited because I miss going to Garden Bar near my workplace. I ordered the Cobb your Enthusiasm, but changed out the red wine vinaigrette for balsamic and peppercorn ranch. I loved that I could include two types of dressing in my order since I was trying something new. I didn't think much of it till later, but when I entered the shop, all the employees were huddled up in the corner and didn't acknowledge that someone had just walked in. I noticed that there were several orders on a shelf at the entrance, but wasn't sure if they were for delivery service or all orders. I had to ask, which was fine, but I stood there for a while before someone offered to help me. There were no other customers in the shop. I had to run one quick errand before heading home and it is a very hot day, so to my surprise, when I got home, the salad was in tact, so I know the ingredients were fresh. However, they left out the gorgonzola from my salad and cheese is like, my favorite thing; but there was still plenty of salady goodness to devour. Here is the disappointing part. The whole salad tasted so strongly of vinegar, and I love vinegar. The pickled onions had no balance of sweetness, the balsamic vinegar was so so strong, and even the peppercorn ranch had too much vinegar in it and I didn't think ranch usually has vinegar. I will read some more reviews and see if there are better salads to choose, but so far it does not match up to Garden Bar. read more

As far as I know, evergreens and Garden Bar are related. However, since Evergreens was the only one open during the pandemic I decided to give them a whirl because I desperate for a big, beautiful salad. Sadly, even though they are related and similar, it misses the mark. The salad dressings aren't the same at all, so I am relegated to just oil and vinegar. I would be willing to accept that if the toppings or ingredients were the same, but they aren't even close. The tofu as well, is like just chunks of chopped tofu, there's no seasoning, they're not pre-baked, just huge chunks of tofu. If you're dying for a salad, I'd say just wait until Garden Bar returns because Evergreens' version is just too disappointing. Or just make your own. The service is good and the staff are lovely. Excellent healthy salads, wraps or bowls. I had the Super salad as I am doing Keto and it fit perfectly into my plan 8 grans of carbs. Fresh ingredients and amazing flavor. They have amazing choices to choose from and a nutrition grid that you can fill out so you know what your macros are if you are into that. They have gluten free, vegan and high protein choices. Beset by salad hunger and impressed by the Yelp rating, I dashed into the shop just under the wire, nearly at closing time this evening. No waiting. I chose the "medium" salad. (The "large" would only have gotten me more greens.) I selected: arugula+spinach, chicken, 1/2 avocado (these folks are serious!), sun dried tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, bacon (I'll take their word for it.) and pomegranate vinaigrette dressing (for the touch of fruitiness and sweetness). No complaint! The greens were crisp, and the other ingredients flavorful. Unsweetened ice ea, which was nice, but (don't laugh) they had no milk to put in it. (which, along with the fact that there were very few places to sit, and the stark ambiance of the place, accounts for the lack of a fifth star.) I dined in the air conditioned comfort of my car, not an appealing setting for a social evening with friends. No question, this haven will be fondly remembered when the salad craving strikes again. read more

Meh. I love salad bars but this one isn't as great as many of the other local salad bars in terms of toppings/selections. Also, what really annoyed me is you aren't allowed to customize their warm bowls (I literally only asked for half rice half salad- at a salad bar mind you) they said no. I've only managed to eat here once because every time I come, they're closed. They close very early, which really doesn't make sense. For the one time I was able to eat there, I give it a four. It docked one star because the owner was there and he was very dismissive. The girl working, however, was a rising star and for her the store gets 4. The food was decent, not great. I've been ordering here since they opened. We love the salads and the staff is always nice. Today there was a problem with a reward I was redeeming. I was confused. The manager did a great job trying to explain it to me (it was definitely my error and not understanding what the reward actually was). She was patient, even having to explain it to me several times.
