Delicious healthy, flavorful food with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. I enjoyed the Thai Bowl with a medley of broccoli, carrots, green beans, and tofu topped with peanut sauce. Definitely fulfilled my craving for Thai food in a healthy way! Life's a Peach Smoothie was refreshing and perfectly balanced with mango, peach, lion's mane mushroom, cinnamon, apple juice and dates that gave it a nice hint of sweetness. The Mango Peach Lemon Smoothie had a very strong lemon zest flavor, I wasn't a big fan of it. I wasn't a fan of DIY burrito the Indian curry, guacamole, black beans, cheese, and BBQ tofu didn't blend well together (typing this out, I can see why!). I might get the Tempeh Royale Burrito next time or try out a safer option with the bowl. Looking forward to coming back and exploring the menu with more bowls and possibly another burrito! read more

When you call their customer service hotline number listed on their website, it literally disconnects you right on the spot. There's no way to reach them. I have always had a great experience at my local Cedar Mill location and tonight was no exception. The guacamole was so delicious, creamy - my favorite! The staff is so friendly, always welcoming. I can't stop ordering the bubba burrito, it's a great combo of many flavors. The atmosphere is very clean and organized too and the music in the background is always on point. read more

I'm surprised there aren't more healthy food options in the Hillsboro/Beaverton area. The menu has a good selection of wraps, burritos, bowls and quesadillas. I got the crunchero with pork. The pork was a welcome addition since there was a bit too much cheese for my liking (the crispy bit that leaked out the side onto the grill gave the quesadilla an interesting texture. Next time I'll ask if they can squish more cheese out the side and into the flat top. The red sauce was delicious and just the right amount of spice. The black bean hummus and corn were barely there and the non-GMO tortilla chips were nonexistent. Service was excellent. read more

Got home to discover both bowls were less than half full. Barely a quarter inch of couscous spread thinly at the bottom. Little teaspoon size dollops of the other ingredients. A rather meager amount of chicken and a lonely cilantro sprig on the top. These bowls are NOT a meal worth $17. More like an overpriced small appetizer. After my sons football game and just before the downpour, we (he) was looking to get recharged. We decided to get quesadillas. I ordered an adult chicken and cheese with sides of sour cream and habanero sauce. I ordered him a kids bean and cheese quesadilla. He was bummed that the fountain (soft drinks etc) was down because of COVID-19 but water is healthier. We got the order and went home. I was very disappointed that the habanero sauce wasn't included especially since the lady that helped me verified that I wanted it on the side. Also my son was sad that he didn't get beans on his order. Although recently, they raised the price of their Thai mini burrito, which was $6 and some change and now it's $8.50 which is a big jump considering it's mini. It has been a while since we grabbed food here and honestly, we have been eating some not so healthy takeout food lately. I was reminded by my urologist to lay off the salt, in particular, because of my history of kidney stones. I have the kind that develops due to salt consumption. I don't salt home food but I really like salty Asian foods and that is not great. Sigh. Honestly I would prefer root canal over another dang kidney stone. Laughing Planet provides healthier choices than most places, in general seems less salty, and at not terrible prices. We called in food ahead and it was ready when we got there. It is about twenty minutes from my house. This visit we got two quesadillas on whole wheat tortillas, one bbq chicken and one grilled veggie. Mine was the grilled veggie one. It was not greasy, not super cheesey, but steaming hot and it tasted good. The box it was packed in had air vents so it stayed crisp and that worked! We got a side of guacamole for 75 cents and tried three colorful salsas. The red one won. Side salads were $3.50. I was skeptical but they were big, and the vegan Caesar dressing was really good. They were kinda perfect. My teen calls this " weedy lettuce" but likes the radishes." Nice touch." Laughing planet has plenty of meatless or meat options, gluten free options, even some cookies and smoothies. There are bowls, burritos, soups, salads, snacks. I like it. I would give this location zero stars if I could. After placing an order through Uber eats with a substitution requested, I was delivered a soaking wet bag because whoever prepared the food did not bother to drain the water from the vegetables that they put into the paper bowls, and they left out the substitution that I requested, resulting in bowls that were only halfway full. By the way, this substitution had been made many times before, both online and in person, with no problem. After calling this location to complain to the manager, he proceeded to argue with me in a raised voice, and eventually hung up in my face - twice. When I tried to call back to reach the manager again, they repeatedly let the call go to voicemail and ignored me. I submitted a complaint to the corporate office online regarding my experience, and never heard back from them. It is no wonder that whenever I go into this location, it is almost always empty. I will not be returning there myself. Not to mention that on previous occasions, I have seen employees in the kitchen playing with their hair and then going to touch the food, and on another occasion, I saw a worker in the kitchen pick something nasty out of the corner of his eye and it appeared that he had flicked it into, or near, the food that he was preparing. However, this last incident was the last straw. For mediocre and potentially unclean food at high prices, and awful customer service, it is certainly not worth it to go here. read more

My idea of healthy food is a voodoo donut and a diet coke so you aren't likely to find me in restaurant that serves up grass clippings. This is kind of a fast food place except that the service is anything but fast. And looking over the fare I'm not sure just how healthy it is. Sort of like some of the "healthy" items McDonalds offers that in reality are insanely un-healthy. When I was 300# and well on my way to an early coronary I was goaded into taking a series of classes at the VA and they wound up teaching me more than I ever wanted to know about reading food labels. Be that as it may and I am not suggesting that dining here could be bad for you.... just saying that my prissy little vegan pal may be a bit misguided thinking that this is a health food joint. Food was ok I guess. Not especially tasty and the portions were not generous especially considering the price. Staff was ok but not particularly friendly or energetic. OK = three stars which is what I gave them. No complaints. Would I come back again? Probably not without a "date" who liked this kind of food. There have been a number of restaurants at this location over the decades. One of them I ate at frequently. Almost daily and usually for b'fast. Run by an older Filipino couple who were never seen again the day after 9/11. No idea if they were in the WTC that awful day or what. But the place was deserted for quite a while until a pretty decent Mexican place took it over. Seems like restaurants don't do very well in this location although the DQ next door has been there forever. Laughing Planet is a chain albeit a small-ish chain. I wish I lived within walking distance of a Laughing Planet restaurant. My harvest bowl for lunch was tasty, generous and left me feeling satisfied--not stuffed. In theory, I could make this at home: quinoa, roasted carrots, black beans, cooked kale and a magical green sauce. In practice, however, it's hard to get the flavors and textures right. Plus at reasonable prices, why not let LP nourish me? Service was a bit hectic because it was busy, but it no way was the service off-putting or distracted. I received great service at this location, but was disappointed to discover the three bottles of hot sauce I purchased appeared to have been opened. Initially someone from Laughing Planet contacted me regarding a refund but then never responded to my responses, bummer!!! In all honesty lots of the food here is food i could make myself at home -- nothing too exotic, no fancy cooking techniques required to throw it together in a bowl (or tortilla) -- and yet, here i return again and again for a belly-warming meal. It's just so darn tasty! Their regular menu is already pretty extensive, but don't forget to check out their special seasonal menu item(s) (usually posted up behind the cashier). They also customized the orders by placing the dressing on the side and providing sides of chicken for our meat eaters. The only thing I would not recommend was their cookies. This Laughing Planet location is definitely my favorite in our area. It's clean, smells good, the staff is friendly and the service is fast. I love that you can make EVERYTHING vegan at this restaurant. I didn't need to veganize my Autumn Bento Bowl but it was absolutely perfect. This isn't fast food in that you can get some really food and healthy food here. Have been ordering a BBQ chicken quesadilla here for years with veggies and a side of guacamole, and notice every time how good it tastes- fresh tender chicken and garden veggies. Their sauces are good too. and tonight enjoyed a pint of pFriem IPA for 3 bucks! And as you can see from the photo it is a folded over once typical quesadilla shape, unlike Chipotle who rolled out their wadded up kids meal to everyone and nixed the "secret menu" normal quesadilla. The inside is clean, and they even have outdoor seating which is dog friendly. The Food: Korean BBQ bowl - 1/5. The beef is executed horribly. It is stripped of any resemblance of Korean flavoring. Instead, it tastes like beef simmered in soy sauce. It could've been the star of the dish. Instead, I doused it with hot sauce to help mask its abysmal flavoring. I subbed sautéed kale for rice, which actually made the beef somewhat tolerable. The veggies included lack any flavor - no salt or pepper. Everything was bland. read more

Lots of vegetarian options, vegan too, though I maintain that $2.50 for 2-3 ounces of tempeh, is really overpriced. So, order something with tempeh already in it (or meat already in it if you're carnivore). This is a kid-friendly place, so expect they'll be around, perhaps loud, and playing with the toy dinosaurs. I've never been here when there wasn't kids running around, so if that's not your thing - you're informed. The only reason for 3 stars, is that it consistently takes 15-20 minutes to get your food (been here 3 times, same thing). As long as you're not looking for something quick, to pop in and out - then you're in luck. If you don't have an extra 15 minutes (even for a to go order), maybe rethink it. read more
