But, for the novice in any field, they pretty much have something at least to get you started. I looked at flip flops and ended up getting a pair of Nikes in my size. I also saw a pair of Olukai casual shoes and would have picked it up if it fit. The salesperson near the dressing room had access to inventory and told me there wasn't any in my size. That saved me a lot of time looking up and down the aisles. My mother and I arrived Sunday, October 25, around 7 PM. At checkout, I showed the reward email with the code and barcode. The reward was valid through November 2, and the email says to redeem it in store by showing it or giving your mobile number. The cashier tried my phone number and then the email address it was sent to. Neither worked. I asked for a manager. She was dismissive from the start and pointed out they were about to close. Then she told me this is a recurring issue the store already knows about with these rewards. She knew the problem, but she had no fix and no apology. Her only suggestion was that I call customer service on my own. When I pushed back, she said, "Well, yeah, then there's nothing I could do. Either you take it or not." I asked if she could take $10 off my item as a courtesy. It would have taken seconds and cost the store ten dollars. She said no. A broken system is frustrating. A manager who openly admits the system is broken and still won't make it right is worse. Nordstrom, your rewards program is only worth something if your stores honor it. Either fix the in-store redemption or let managers make it right on the spot.
