I discovered this store last year. It is now my favorite store. The associates are pleasant and helpful. They have a variety of clothes business, casual, evening. The downside is they can't carry everything they have online because it is a small store. Shopping online can be tricky because sizing isn't consistent. I will not be returning to the Seal Beach location. Today there was a cyber issue with ordering, I had ordered 2 items early in the morning and the order was confirmed. When I got to the Seal Beach store, just after opening, they had bagged 1 item and I found the other item I had ordered on the rack. The associate said it was the incorrect color (sandwashed black). I looked up my order and she was wrong, the color was correct!! I showed her my order and just at that time they put the same black dress in the back for another order (clearly after mine). I asked if they had put the dress in the back and they said yes. I asked if I could have the dress that was in my order. The associate said no and offered me to drive to another store!!! Really! I got up early to secure the order and the associate didn't understand that she should honor that I was first. read more

I have been shopping at this location for the past 6 years. My wife loves the Loft, (which means I love the Loft). Plus, this location is next-door to one of the Peet's coffees in my region. However, today I was really put off and I won't be returning. I saw a top in the window display, and in a "just because" moment, thought I would surprise the wife. Found an associate inside folding some tops and asked her if she could point me in the right direction. She stated that she would check inventory to see if they had her size. While she was looking it up, a female customer cam up and asked for help with a necklace on a mannequin. She explained that she would help her once completed with me. The associate then left to check the stock. I waited a while, then realized she was now with the other customer, trying to retrieve the necklace for her. To make matters worse, a few more minutes went by, and now a second associate was helping this customer as well. 5 minutes later, I waked out. Not sure it was because I was the only male present, or just bad service, it doesn't matter. Just not right. And there are options, and other Lofts. read more

I'm not a huge Loft person, but I find their clothes affordable, and they always seem to have sales to lure women into buying stuff. I was looking for a dress for a graduation party, and went online to check out what they had. They were having $30 off any full price dress or 40% off marked down dresses. What a deal! This place was easy to find (behind Panera, the old Parasol restaurant) and plenty of parking. I walked in and was greeted and Elizabeth, the manager on duty helped me find the dress that i was looking for. Sadly, that's as far as I got helped, as when I went into the dressing room, no one came to check on me. The dressing room still had clothes in the changing area, not sure if they were discards or it was a room started by a Loft staff. I found an empty room and tried on the dresses. One didn't really fit, so I walked out (in the dress) to the showroom and had to find my own size. No one asked me if they could help. Giving this place 4 generous stars because they had what I wanted, and Elizabeth told me her name. Yes i was greeted, but quite honestly, its more like a 3 1/2 star, possibly 3 star experience. read more

I recently moved back to So Cal from Atlanta. I love Loft and have shopped there almost exclusively for years for myself and for my Daughters. I tried the Seal Beach location twice and both times received the most horrible customer service. The employee's at the counter were rude, unprofessional and unable to answer basic questions. The selection of clothing styles and sizes is limited as well. Bad service the first time, maybe someone was just having a bad day. Bad service the second time, with different associates tells me it's an issue from the top down. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I've been a LOFT shopper for many years...still love the clothes, accessories and even the handbags. I started out when LOFT was at the Westminster Mall, then at Five Points Plaza and at last , at Seal Beach location. Most of my clothings are from LOFT. Their styles fits me well. Whenever I needed a dress or two either for a wedding ,Graduation or even for Summer Vacation, I always find them at LOFT. The styles are chic, affordable and fits just right. I could not find much out there especially for my body type. I treat myself about every other week, otherwise, I try to go whenever I can. There are some new faces working there but still see a couple of familiar ones too. They are helpful, friendly and professional. read more

I was sad to hear the Huntington location close down by my house, but was pleasantly surprised to find this one in Seal Beach. The employees are wonderful and will go out of your way until your needs are met. My size wasn't available in store and they very quickly gave me several options to order it or have it put on hold at another location. I have definitely found my new go-to LOFT! read more

Officially overly obsessed. Seriously I have issues. I shop here maybe once every couple weeks, maybe even more. The selection is great, from new arrivals of tops and dresses, to the racks of gems on sale. I love mostly everything they have here! Some of my favs are the vintage tees with cute embellishments/sequins, the casual dresses that are perfect for a bbq or summer wedding, shorts that pair well with a cute top and flats, etc. They have the best jewelry too! I have bought bracelets in every color offered, earrings, etc. Seriously, everything here is SO FREAKING CUTE. Or, maybe it's just my style :) Prices can be expensive, but their sales rock! Usually they have an additional 50% off on already sale items, hello super-discount! Employees here are friendly and eager to help make the shopping experience efficient and expensive.. :) read more

I love Loft clothing and frequent the seal Beach and Cerritos locations about 4 times a month if not more. Although I like the clothing, the customer service at this Seal Beach location is terrible. I've seen some new faces recently and they don't even bother to greet you or offer you a room. The last 4 times I've gone I literally walked around without a single person acknowledging me as a customer. Interestingly when I showed up in professional attire I got a little more attention. Customer service should be good at all times and to ALL types of customers. The styles and petite fit is what keeps me a customer because I don't ever have to tailor the clothing I get here. It's also closer to home. Otherwise I'd go to the Cerritos location exclusively. read more

I love the clothes here, but I feel as if the Loft brand is being hijacked by poor customer service. I've visited this location a dozen times and I've never been greeted as I entered. While I admit I don't like being hounded or pressured as I shop, a simple acknowledgement would be nice. Tonight after browsing the store for 20 minutes, not a single soul acknowledged my presence. Even as I was checking out, the cashier didn't say a word to me. I've had merchandise credit now for about a six months, and as soon as that is redeemed, I will rethink whether I visit this location again. Unfortunate customer service = unfortunate sales. Update: June 2014 Okay I returned to this location to redeem my store credit. And the workers were welcoming and pleasant! If they continue down this path, I will happily change my rating. One thing that kind of bothered me (and this has nothing to do with the workers), but there are sale signs that say "everything 40%!" No fine print or asterisks to be found. And yet when I checked out, I was told all Lou and Gray items are excluded....kind of a bummer. read more

It took me a couple of years to check this store out, even though it's only 5 min from my house. The location is good, but the customer service is lacking. The women working there are usually polite, but have no clue about customer service. I purchased several hundred dollars worth of clothing for a vacation, and ended up not wearing two pairs of pants. I took them in to return them (with tags on, and original receipt) and was told I was past the 45 day return time, and would therefore receive the lowest sale price for my returns. I pointed out that it was day 47, and could they make an exception? They said they were unable to make an exception. I then took the clothes, got in my car, and went to the Cerritos Mall location where they returned them, no problem. I get constant email reminders to check out LOFT's sales, so I finally moseyed my way in. I generally find myself in the area on Sundays, for some reason... Hmm, I'll have to reflect on that further. At any rate, their email offers are pretty remarkable, but this season just wasn't doing it for me. I did a quick lap of the store and was on my way. In the past, the salespeople have been very helpful, and the clothes very cute. If in item is not in your size they will find it, the girls are so friendly and make you feel welcome. This is my favorite store EVER. I love the clothes and the awesome sales. But what I love the most is how great the ladies are who work there. I've never had a bad experience with them. I am always greeted when walking through the door. My favorite is when Kelsie who is one of the store managers helps me shop, she always has my best interest. She is always so incredibly helpful! And she of course has the cutest taste ever (I get why she works there) Kelsie is always so attentive, with me and the other ladies who shop there. She even got me to open up a loft card, I love that she takes care of the customers so well. I was so surprised when she got to know me by name which makes all the experiences so great. thanks to our new dress code at work, i got to go shopping today. i've been eyeing this ann taylor loft since it opened a few months ago, but never "needed" anything. today...$135, 4 items and a new credit card later, i go home. i like the loft because they have casual work wear...items my all time favorite store for work clothes (the limited) do not have (i.e. khaki's, casual dresses, etc.). prices are pretty high IMO, averaging $40-60 per item, but i shop the sale section. i also love that they have a petite section, because at 5'4", the pants fit me perfectly (to wear flats with) and the capris are actually capris...not high-waters. located in "the shops at rossmoor", this loft location is super convenient to get in and out of. no need to go to a mall and deal with crowds or people. i must say minus a star for no one checking on you in the dressing room. i had to put on my regular clothes to go back in the store to get an item in another size. AND...the guy who offered to start a dressing room for me, didn't even realize he helped me as when i when to pay, he asked me if anyone was helping me today. duh! read more

I never feel pressured, ignored, or given attitude, which normally occurs at the Loft at 5 Points. This location overall just seems cheerful and comfortable, and it doesn't hurt that Francesca's, Marshalls, and Home Goods are within walking distance! read more

Shopping here is always fun. When they have a sale, they really give you a SALE! You can't beat the quality of their clothes. The material and designs are really classy and good. I went in first thing in the morning and the glass door was so dirty and couldn't see inside. Thought the store was not open yet. The last few times I've popped into this store, they had sale signs posted in various areas but not in the Petites area. I had to ask someone what's on sale in Petites, and was told to bring any items I was interested in to the cashier for a price check. That's sort of backwards to me... I like to know what's on sale to help me decide what I'm interested in! Anyway, it's not a big deal but it is inconvenient and I don't understand why the management can't put out a few more signs during sales. This has happened more than one time so it was not an isolated incident. Another thing... the store is small so while it's easy to navigate, there's not a big selection. The merchandise was cute but I browsed for 15 minutes before any of the sales people acknowledged me. They even walked right by without a greeting. But when they finally did decide to greet me they were friendly. The prices are over priced but since everything was 40% off, the prices were "regular". I like the location. It's convenient. Store manager, Kelsey, was quite rude today. I went in looking for a particular sweater I saw online. Salesperson went to the back to look for my size. I found another rack of them on the opposite side of the store. I mentioned this saying, " thought you should know in case others are looking for the same sweater. " Kelsey jumped in used a rude tone and made excuses about the sale, being busy, corporate double exposes..." instead of just taking responsibility and saying she would let the other salesperson know. (There were about 6 shoppers in the store at the time and nobody at the counter.) Why is it okay for store managers to be rude and condescending to customers? read more

I went into this location to shop for my girlfriend for her birthday and my mom since Mother's Day is around the corner fully expecting to just get gift cards. Once I arrived, I was instantly greeted by one of the workers, despite the fact she was busy at the register. Another worker came to ask if I needed any help and I told her who I was shopping for, she directed me to the jewelry but I didn't think any of it looked like something my girlfriend or mom would wear. I was about to check out and get the 2 gift cards but then a different worker insisted on helping me find something "a little more personal" than a gift card. She took the time to ask about my girlfriend and my mom and then helped me find outfits for both of them. My girlfriend loved the outfit I got her, mom will receive hers this weekend. The customer service was outstanding and I can see why my girlfriend and mom chose to only shop at this seal beach location! read more

I was with Sue F. and Jane L. a couple of months ago. I was always ignored and never greeted or helped upon entering the store (which really bothers me because I used to work retail at a fairly high end store so I know how they should be treating customers). Today I gave it another go BC I had seen this really gorgeous dress online and didn't want to pay for shipping. Boy was I in for a surprise!!! I was pleasantly greeted at the door by a smiling face and received a genuine "How are you doing today?" and some small talk. I walked around some and was beginning to think I had thought my experience would be good too fast when the same young lady walked up to me only to ask how I was doing and how I was finding anything. We got to talking and she helped me find the exact dress I was looking for and even started me a fitting room!!! :-))) She wasn't overly pushy or continuously asking me if I was okay, but was always kindly talking to other customers and had a sweet smile on her face. Needless to say, I was EXTREMELY surprised that I had such a wonderful time at this location and definitely will be going back! P.S. I'm TOTALLY with Jane L. I like the clothes and selection, and especially the sales section, but I do not like their service. I've been there several times, and the sales people aren't particularly friendly. I don't know if it's because I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt, or because I have a baby with me, but about 2/3 of the time, I'm completely ignored the whole time I'm shopping. Of course there were a few times when i've gotten the attention I deserve (hahaha), and I tend to buy more when i get the attention, so customer service works!!!
