I went in on my birthday to use my $25 off on my mission for jeans that I LOVE! When I walked through the door I was greeted by Brianna who was clearly happy I was there and eager to help. I explained to her that I was there on a mission to find jeans that fit me well. I was embarrassed to admit I wasn't even 100% my size is and I want to fix that today. Brianna seemed stoked for the task! I explained the kind of cut I think I want and she asked me to look around while she went to work on selecting sizes, styles and different washes for me. Once she had a solid line up for me I started trying them all on. Her and Chelsea came over a few times to check on my progress to see if I wanted any different colors or sizes in what was picked out for me. One of them also mentioned that with the pair I end up picking I get a free hem to help get the length just right for me! I was instantly sold on the curvy flare jeans once I knew I could get them hemmed for my short legs. Once they pinned my pants to be ready for the hemming, I checked out and they let me know when they'd be ready for pick up. A few days later I got a call they were ready and when I went to pick them up I was greeted with a smile by Brianna again! If you are choosing what Madewell location to go to, ALWAYS choose Long Beach. I have been a customer of Madewell for many years now and love their style, products, and customer service. I have visited many locations especially within Southern California and the customer service at the Long Beach location far exceeds them all. Their store manager, Chelsea, is the ultimate role model of kindness and really making customers feel like family. I am constantly blown away by how wonderful their customer service is on repeated visits no matter who I interact with. Thank you to Hannah, Sarah, and Brianna too just to name a few! I will drive out of my way and pass closer stores to visit this location because I always know I will be treated with respect and leave the store like I went shopping with my sisters. I went this past Saturday evening and the lady helping me out was super nice and helpful. I ended up finding the perfect fit! The reason for the 3 stars is that when she checked me out she had asked if I was a student, I said yes and showed her my student ID (is it for esthetician school) after showing her she had told me "oh it's for academic schooling only" and let me know that she'll let it slide this one time. It rubbed my fiancé and I the wrong way. I actually apologized but I was not aware as this was my first time shopping at Madewell. They make good jeans but I will not be returning due to the employee. Last I checked I am paying a hefty tuition and am still taking "academic" classes for my license. Great brand. Slightly smaller store than most but good service! Parking here (the entire shopping center) can be a nightmare, especially the Whole Foods section. The shopping center is beautiful but it feels like clusterf*cky ones in up in LA, like the center-City Grove, the Runway in Playa Vista, or Waterside in MDR. I spend a lot of time in Long Beach but I'll ask myself the same question I ask about those shopping centers: "Do I have the patience to deal with getting in and out of here today?" I was looking for cropped jeans because I'm short and she told me they actually carried petite jeans. I had no idea. She brought me so many styles which I appreciated. I love this brand as I've bought their items through Nordstrom and online. This is the only actual store of theirs I've visited. It's a bit of a smaller store. I was able to try on some jeans and get a few accessories displayed at the front. I came in on a Friday afternoon and the store maybe had like 3-4 customers in it. The gal at the fitting room was great and really helpful at helping me find my Jean size. It did kind of take a long time to get checked out, however, because there wasn't anyone at the cash register. I wasn't in a hurry so no biggie. I'd probably return back as I come to the shopping center quite a bit, however I don't see myself coming just to visit the store. read more

Huge fan of Madewell here - the style is definitely my vibe and the material is great. This store is easy to access and located in the 2nd and PCH plaza with plenty of parking. I hate to say this but I believe this store really lacks customer service. Of the dozens of times I've frequented this location, I've only been welcomed or greeted by sales associates less than a handful of times. Quite honestly, the last few times I walked out feeling like it was a waste of my time to look around, as no one is around to help you with questions you may have. I get staffing is an issue everywhere, but when sales associates walk by you and stare, it's not a good look. read more

This store is wonderful! It is well organized, friendly staff and their displays are nice. There is plenty for everyone here at 2nd. & PCH. What I love about this location, aside from its proximity to the beach is the play area for the kids. A mom can shop and the kiddos will get a dose of fresh air, Vitamin D (bring a hat and sunscreen)! This store had wonderful items to get you through any occasion. I love this location on 2nd & PCH because since it's part of an outdoor mall - I can shop with my furry baby; and with outdoor sitting accommodations to restaurants - shop till I drop and then dine till I'm stuffed! Cost wise it is on the expensive side but the quality makes up for the cost so I'm all for it. A huge THANK YOU to Sara who helped me find my lost wallet on Saturday 4/09. I came in panicked to ask if anybody had turned in my wallet I dropped nearby and bust out in tears because I was overwhelmed by the day I was having. Sara could've easily just said "no, nobody turned it in" and let me walk out, but she called security to check with them and they had it! I was sooo happy!
