I have purchased at least 9 pairs of shoes from O' My Sole and I was particularly excited to purchase the Ethan Valdes Lido style for the heel height and style in late 2023. It was a disaster. Within the first weekend of owning and wearing the black version, the heel completely disintegrated. I immediately took them back and the staff (I think Wally the manager was the one?) noted that was strange and sent them to their shoe repair to fix it. I received them back fixed. I'm happy with the service and their willingness to fix. I wear the black pair again, same thing happens to the heel (but even worse this time) + the pad starts to move around. I wear the nude ones, the same thing starts to happen. I am confused and disappointed. At first I thought it was me, but I look into my closet at the many (many) pairs of shoes that I own and I have not had this issue before. I take both pairs back to show them. Same reaction - they take the shoes to see what can be done. A month or two go by before I hear back from there - I buy several other pairs of shoes to wear in place (none of the other shoes ended up the way these did, see photos). Once I start hearing back from them to come get the shoes, I am pretty fed up by the waste of time and money, but mostly the disappointment because I really wanted these shoes to work. More months go by (I failed at being prompt with them as there were more major things happening in my life) and when I did go in to discover the shoes were never fixed (and the entire style is on sale for nearly 40-50% off), the manager wasn't there so I had to wait. Finally going back and I have never experienced a more (immediately) hostile and utterly rude person in a customer service role than the experience I had with the manager (Wally) of the 2nd Street lbc store. Within 2 minutes of my arrival and expressing my frustration with these shoes she tells me that it's my fault, that I must walk poorly or roughly, and told me that my timeline was untrue because there is no way these shoes could be damaged this much with a few wears. I bought theses shoes in late October and had them back in to be fixed for the 2nd time by late December - each time, bringing the shoes in immediately after the first wear to show what happened. Wally entered into this dialogue with me with immediate hostility, called me a liar and insulted me, told me to be silent when she was on the phone with corporate, and then told me that I should be thankful that they are giving me ONE new pair of the same, shit shoe to make good on the two pairs that I probably wore a total of 5 times across the two. I would have been thankful for the shoes I bought in the first place to not fall apart immediately (I really wanted to wear them!), I would have been thankful for a store credit, I would have been thankful not to have to eventually "sssshhhhh" Wally as a way to stop the dialogue and the fragrant insults & yelling which included that she was going to call the cops. I think she likely got more frustrated because at some point instead of returning her behavior or continuing the argument, I started to laugh from the absurdity. I wish someone else was in the store to witness all of this, I wish she had called the cops so I could account for that dialogue and her energy, and I hope the store has cameras with audio so corporate can watch what happened. Her behavior was aggressive and not okay. At one point it seemed like she was ready to touch or shove me. For fun, I've included images of the Nathan Valdes shoes that I wore less than 5x alongside shoes that I have worn far more than 5x (including my wedding with 5+ hours of dancing and walking on gravel etc,) to get a sense of how I 'don't treat my shoes properly' and all that jazz. I went into this cute store on 2nd Street one day, after my plantar faciatis was raging all day long at work. I hobbled in and this wonderful store keeper named Wally helped me. I told her my problem and pain level and she showed me very good brands for this problem! She also showed me sale items which is so nice of her! I ended up buying THREE pairs of shoes (one for work, one for every day wear and one fancy modern pair for dancing!) She really went out of her way to help me get into the right shoes. It's ironic when you have a negative experience in a store and then look at the Yelp reviews after the fact. The picture from 3 years ago that is the first picture you see on their profile says it all. Walked into the store today (in my Birks) looking for some comfy shoes, and there were so many... not a peep from the worker there, no greeting, not even a blink in my direction. I picked up maybe 10 different shoes that were cute. Still no peep. My fiancé and I were the only ones in the store. Someone else walks in (doesn't look like me) and the employee immediately (almost sprints) to her side, "hello! How are you today, would you like to try any of those on??" What an eager little beaver... where I didn't get as much a head tilt in my general direction. Other people are being greeted, but still not me... am I just imagining this?? I learned that the person who was sitting in the very back of the store in your back room NEVER, EVER got up out of her chair, distracted by her cell phone or other stuff!!! I went on Black Friday because I have been eyeballing the Ethan Valdes shoes in their window for a while. Many styles were 40% off, which was great. The salesperson was polite, helpful and patient while I tried on multiple pairs of shoes and boots. The selection and service were both top-notch and I would recommend this store to anyone looking for high-quality shoes. My boyfriend and I walked in at the same time as another customer. We were not greeted or offered help but the other customer was. The woman working had finished helping the other customer. I was looking at Birkenstocks and said "excuse me, can can I get these in a size 6?" The employee looked in my direction as I asked the question and clearly heard what I said. She said "excuse me" back and I repeated myself. It was really weird because she knew what I said and her tone was rude. She immediately says "We don't have that size" then walks to the back to "check". She tells me that they don't have it and I asked if they had the same shoe in a different color. She flat out says "no". I said "thank you" and my boyfriend and I walked out. We were stunned by this rude employee with red hair and an accent. My boyfriend is a person of color. After reading the other negative reviews I am convinced of my suspicion that this experience is fueled by racism. I find it ironic that this store on 2nd Street is still in business. If your store and it's employees are going to be racist and rude then don't have your store in one of the most diverse cities in the country. When I searched for this particular business in Yelp, I was kind of expecting at least a 4 star overall service, as I had heard good things about the quality of the shoes and the service they provided. My dislike came last night when I tried to get some sympathy and understanding on some boots I wanted to return. Gorgeous leather ankle boots with heel, I purchased for my Birthday in December of 2018. Now I understand that this was 5 months ago, but when you pay over $200 for some boots, you want some understanding when the heel completely snaps off when you're just walking to the gym. This wasn't the first issue either. After only having the boots for 1 month, the sole began coming away. I thought perhaps I was being heavy footed or sitting at my desk incorrectly at work, but then realized the quality of the boot wasn't all that great. I took the boots to the cobbler when instead I should have taken them straight back to the store, O' My Sole. I just loved these boots and wanted to wear them and not have to deal with the return policy and O' My Sole sending them all the way back to Spain where they were originally made. A simple and easy fix by the cobbler and my boots were like new again. 3 Months in and wearing them on occasion and not everyday, the heel began to wear down :( I particularly felt that wearing them on occasion and only to and from the car, and then parading around on office carpet wasn't enough to warrant heel damage. You would think I had walked across country in these boots with the way they were starting to wear down. Anyway, moving on to May 20 and walking from work to the gym (no more than a block away) I tripped and looked down to find my boot was no more a heel boot. The heel came off clean as a whistle and lied down on the concrete floor staring at me. I was mortified! I picked the heel up and with that, I hopped on over to the gym. Luckily, I could wear my sneakers for the remainder of the day. I looked at the boots and took pictures because I had never had this happen to me before. I know this has to happen to most women at some point in their lives, but with $200 plus boots, no thank you! I was p1ssed! Unfortunately, last night was not the turning point I expected when I walked into the store. A woman, not sure if she was management was quite abrupt and rude. She laughed when I asked if I could return them and receive a credit note or some kind of compensation. She was shocked that I would even ask such a thing when the boots were 5 months old. Well, when you pay more than $200 for a pair of leather boots, you expect better customer service than that. I have plenty of Lucky Brand and Ugg boots at home. I already know if I had an issue with any of those boots (which wouldn't happen) they would take care of it immediately. What surprised me was when the store lady said that they no longer stocked this particular brand of boot! Clear as day and sat on the shelf to the left of the counter was a range of the same brand of boots, and even the exact same boot I was trying to return. All shapes and sizes and around the $150-$300 mark. She laughed again that she didn't have my size and there was nothing that they could do. I walked away thinking, you know what? I received bad customer service here on some boots I loved. When we receive bad customer service, we tend to share our experiences with at least 5 people we come into contact with. I must say, that this issue has been shared, the boot manufacturer has been contacted by myself and not the store because they had no interest in providing any service whatsoever. I would not waste your time in this store. I lost my sole quite literally and I lost my heel. O' My Sole indeed because you say that when you lose both sole and heel. I lost my soul. read more

This is a bright, hip, somewhat industrial-looking store with a lot of women's shoes and a good number of men's shoes too. It's a great source for comfort shoes that don't look like comfort shoes, comfort shoes that do look like comfort shoes, emo shoes, hippie shoes, casual shoes, "casual athletic" shoes, and similar. My taste in shoes doesn't really match up with O My Sole's (wish they'd carry more Italian and other slicker-looking shoes), but I do occasionally find things I like. Brands they regularly stock include Doc Martens, Ugg, Birkenstock, Clarks, Converse, Rocket Dog, Born, Earth, and the like, plus an assortment of European brands that fit a similar aesthetic. Their women's shoes tend to be a lot more varied/interesting/unusual than their men's. Prices are about average for the brands, maybe just slightly on the high side at times for the ones that aren't on sale. I suspect their stock may be factory overstock, at least in part, since they will sometimes get in a large number of one company's shoes and then never carry that company again, or receive new shoes in a limited selection of sizes. Despite this, however, one downside of the store is that their stock doesn't change as often as one may hope. Maybe it's just me, but when I go here (which is not all that often), it always looks about 85% the same as last time I was here. If you're into comfort/emo/hippie shoes, you'll love this place. If not, it's still worth a look since they sometimes get in something unexpected. read more

Hello, Recently, I visited your Long Beach location on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore. I've made a couple of purchases prior to this visit. I am writing this review because I recently had a very negative encounter with one your staff. I was in search of purchasing the Tamarindo men's shoes. While in the store I had asked the associate if the shoes were made in Germany or in the US. The associate responded with "I am not sure but you can Google it!" To which I replied "Great! While I'm Googling it I might as well as order from your competitor online." I experienced and received terrible customer service as this location. Long & Pricey: This place has the coolest shoes, why do they have to be so effen expensive! I want them all but I don't want to pay out the A$$ for them. For all those peeps who whine and complain about the prices, it's because they carry quality shoes and European makes too. Their prices are fair and comparable for the make & model. I don't believe in buying quantity but rather quality. Having less but better well made shoes is a bigger incentive to me. We get what we pay for. I prefer to pay more for quality shoes, save my feet/knees/back from injuries and doctor bills than cheaply made/poorly designed shoes for cheap. You can sit there for 3 hours and no one will ask if you need help. Sometimes I think I should just walk into the back and look for the shoes myself. Let's see what they do if that happened.
