I actually was a winner of their Facebook social media contest and won a free night here. I am very thankful and grateful for this. I am proof that contests do pick "winners". I won a free night stay here and some extra "Even" swag. The rooms were very nice. They include extra space and equipment to work out and stretch. They provide complimentary water bottles and their pool and hot tub are open until 11 pm. The hot tub was very relaxing. I also loved the rain shower in the bathroom afterwards. The beds were very comfortable and the lobby was welcoming. They have a big gym too and a ping pong table area. They also have a water station with three different types of water. Next to the lobby, They had a restaurant and bar for breakfast and dinner. We ordered an Acai bowl for breakfast. It was delicious, but our menu in our room said it was $5, but it was actually changed on their updated menu to $9. They serve fresh squeezed orange juice too and even have a special machine. Unfortunately, they had unassembled it to clean prior to us coming to breakfast at 10:45 am. Breakfast was suppose to be until 11 am, so we were a bit bummed not to see it in action. Besides those minor things at Breakfast, we absolutely loved our stay. Their prices are reasonable and are a great value through the IHG app. I will definitely stay here again if I am going to be in the Eugene area. We came to drop off our daughter for college. We were lucky to find a hotel that was not booked as the city was completely at capacity, not just this hotel. Hotel: The hotel is modern and built for those who care about fitness. All the amenities that a fitness person cares about, to include in room equipment. Front-desk: The check in process was easy and the staff was friendly. We checked in quickly and arrived at our room with ease. Room: Much smaller than I would have liked, but not really ranking this review on the room. The view was of a parking lot, and of some weird people, but the hotel can't control what's on the outside. House keeping: Our cleaning service really tanked our experience here. The beds were made but looked as if somebody rolled over them. The sheets were not fully pulled up and looked as if somebody shoved them down by the foot of the bed and forgotten about. They forgot to take out trash every day we were there. After we complained the cleaning service just got worse. They stopped providing us toilet paper, and even made the bed with blankets actually rolled up under the sheet. The cleaning service could care less about their jobs and it shows. One of the bigger perks to staying in a hotel is coming back after a long day to a refreshed room. Customer service: We did complain about the house keeping and they offered to send up another crew to clean. They did comp our dinner for one evening which was nice. We complained again the next night and they switched our rooms. Restaurant: The food was good and bartenders were super nice. EXTREMELY UPSET. My boyfriend and I are moving with our cat, and had been driving for 10 hours. When we arrived at the hotel they said cats were a "hard no" which, really pissed me off because I called a week prior trying to avoid this exact issue. They said "cats are welcome! This place has too much "compact" parking and not enough truck parking. There are waaay too many signs all over the parking lot telling you not to leave valuables in vehicles. Because of this we worried about our truck full of our moving items might be messed with. Yes someone did turn the back handle to see if it was unlocked to get into it, but they were not successful. There are a few homeless men and a woman that we seen hanging out in the cul-de-sac. The place looks nice though and is busy. The reception desk is on the 2nd floor, which reminds us of NY. It's a very trendy and hip place that is geared towards working out. There's a small gym space in the rooms, as well as, a full gym on the premises. There's an eatery/bar that refuses to do any changes to the menu - I overheard a young lady telling a couple there are no changes or substitutions, the menu is what it is. It is a cool little hang out area though. Small, but welcoming. There's ping pong and a pool. No laundry facilities though for those of us traveling 2 weeks. I asked repeatedly about a folder that was supposed to be left for me, told them my name, and identified myself as being with the Road Scholar program. Desk personnel repeatedly said they didn't know anything about it. After 2 days of asking, I started looking around behind the desk myself and spotted the folder with my name on it. Why hadn't the staff member let me know, even though I'd asked him about it 2 days in a row, and provided my name and room #? "The person who dropped it off said it was for someone who was checking in today. You checked in yesterday." Similar experiences with other staff. These are not go-getters. They're not interested in helping you solve your concerns. I arrived one day early for a Road Scholar program, which pays for my stay during the program. They found a room for us when the town was completely sold out and they have been so very kind every step of the way. even throughout our relatively long stay at the Even Hotel. Our home was struck twice by Falling Pines that were over 130 ft tall and we also lost power and got stuck in a snowstorm that hit the area in February and March of 2019. The manager Ryan is quite friendly but beyond that the people that he has hired for his team have gone so far above and beyond the Call of Duty to accommodate our stay at the Even Hotel. The room is clean and tidy and looks almost like it's new. Good internet connection, nice restaurant on site that service meals and you can also get a restaurant coupon with your reservation if you so desire. They are an amazing group and I can start to name them all off but my fear is that I might miss someone when in fact everyone at the front desk and all the staff that we met was first rate ! Updated hotel with very hard beds. It's clean and staff was friendly. White linens were all super nice, tv had Netflix capability, great pillow, and dog friendly. $25 dog fee. Not set up like when you go to some hotels and get a little dog care package for that extra money. Work out items in room were cool, a nice option especially if you were staying more than 1 night. Where do I even begin, we were traveling home and needed a place to stop halfway to get some much needed rest. We found this hotel, which was pet friendly as well since we had our two fur babies. As soon as check in it stated out amazing. We were taking our items into to hotel and you could smell the dryers going it smelt so clean! The hotel itself smelt so fresh and clean I've never walked into a hotel that smelt so good. They had a beautiful greenery wall with live plants by the elevators which I loved being a plant addict haha. We got to our room and couldn't believe how clean it was and how good it smelt. Again we've been to MANY hotels and have never smelt such a fresh and clean one like this one. The bathroom was to die for and the room was adorable. It had different work out equipment inside. We didn't use any but it awesome for a longer stay. They had a white board with well-come written on it such a cute touch. The bed was absolutely comfortable, the only thing is not enough blankets lol my husband hogged the blankets. By far the best hotel stay we've ever experienced. Overall it was a good experience. It was a new version hotel, with great amenities and nice staff. One thing however, I was charged twice for breakfast. When checking in, there was an option to add breakfast onto your hotel bill for $10. I thought it was a good deal, so I agreed. I assumed that once I got breakfast, it would automatically apply and I wouldn't be charged. When checking out I saw I was charged twice for my meal. The night before I was never told that there was a voucher i had to give the waiter. I told them that, but they did not offer to fix it. I know it's only $10 bucks, but the misunderstanding was unnecessary. I would stay again when I'm in Eugene next, but I would take a closer look at what I'm handed when I check in and would hope for a little more help from the front desk people. read more

I was a bit skeptical about whether this hotel in Eugene lived up to the star rating since the hotel just opened. The exterior building looks just like a block building. Once you drove into the parking lot (many spaces on the first level) and entered, it was very welcoming and was not the boring block facade it appears to be. You enter the first floor, but the actual reception area is on the second floor via elevator. The hotel is very clean and you feel like your in a health spa with the way they have many positive affirmation quotes on the walls. The first floor had an indoor pool and jacuzzi. The lobby/reception area was again very clean and health conscience. Infused water was available to guests 24/7. Succulent plants were arranged sporadically throughout. A mini market was accessible, along with the mini bar and mini restaurant. The front desk staff ladies were welcoming and friendly. They answered all our questions and gave us the tour of the floor. I should have brought my workout gear so I could have utilized the fitness room (darn). The hotel was not crowded when we were there but come football season this place will definitely be a hot commodity due to the close proximity to the stadium (walking distance). Our room was very "zen" as I saw in the photos. It was clean and did have the foam rollers, rubber bands and workout ball for our use. The bathroom was well done. Large shower, white clean tile with everything you need for your daily showers. I loved the bathroom. I have high standards for rooms and their bathrooms. We could tell that this hotel was still brand new since the bathroom was sparkling clean. Very nice. The room had a small view of the park, large flat screen tv, Netflix availability, mini refrigerator, desk, coffee maker, no microwave though. The only negative thing I would mention was hearing a lot of other room doors closing/slamming during the evening. We were hungry so we decided to try the restaurant. We sat at the bar and ordered with the bartender. She was very pleasant and made us very good drinks!! We had the Cobb salad and quinoa dish. Both were excellent and came in a timely manner. Don't expect the menu to include comfort unhealthy foods. I already knew in advance that this place pursued health. We did order the chocolate bundt cake and that was perfect. We were very satisfied. We got a very good room rate for this time of year but come football season I'm sure the room rates will be competitive. The hotel was newly built from the ground up. This is a hard one, the hotel itself is 5 stars. The service is friendly and the actual hotel is modern and bright with just about every amenity that you could want. Games to play in the lobby area which is connected to the bar and dining area. 3 types of infused waters, a 24 hour market place. Full on pool, hot tub and gym that are all current and not out dated like most hotels. The room has a kureig, mini-fridge, white board, tv, work out area with TX straps, it has a yoga area with a wall mirror, yoga ball, yoga mat, roller and block for your muscles. The bathrooms are gorgeous, perfect lighting on the mirror, huge showers, soft changing light alarm clock. I'm on my third night here for work in town, I had 3 others in my team for the last two nights as well. We all loved it, the food was good, their chocolate bundt and pineapple coconut cake is delicious and perfect for a random midnight snack (haha). We all said that we should stay here every 6 months when we come back for work. That being said, about 30 minutes ago there was a woman screaming from the street outside. I could see someone pacing the street and someone digging through some bags in front of a dumpster. She was screaming, "someone please help me, call 911, call the police, please help me" for about 2 minutes straight and then went silent. I called the police who asked me for a more specific pinpoint for them to go to on the property. So I pulled up maps and it was then that I realized there is a mental illness behavioral clinic, addiction clinic, suicide clinic and methadone clinic around us. I told the front desk employee about what was happening and that police were coming, he grabbed his jacket and said there was a schizophrenic woman who causes commotions and reveals herself to people without warning. This seemed like a nice area and a really nice and safe hotel. The police came but both the woman and the man had left already. I assume the guy at the dumpster was legitimately dumpster diving for "another mans trash is another mans treasure" and the woman was mentally ill or on drugs. However this makes me feel uncomfortable when it comes to getting things out of my car at night, despite there being a well lit parking lot and cameras. If you stay here, just be aware of what area it's in and be safe. read more

I stayed here to visit my sister at the university of Oregon! It's such a cute place to stay, and the Staff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The ladies at the front desk are so accommodating, and do a great job making you feel welcome. I understand it can be hard to read someone's emotions with a mask on, but i could tell they are genuinely caring people through and through. They assured me, and I agreed that the place was clean, and safe in this pandemic. The manager also made me feel extremely comfortable, and she even called to check in on me to make sure I was having a good stay. I can't say enough positive things about the staff there. I travel frequently for work and this was by far the best hotel in Oregon that I have stayed in. It will be my go-to place whenever I'm in Eugene. It's easy to eat bad food and not take good care of yourself when you travel as often as I do and staying at a place like this motivated me to go for a run, swim and foam roll my evening away. :-) Secondly the delicious healthy food available at the restaurant kept me from sneaking away to grab easy bad for you fast food. The restaurant staff were friendly and talkative. The check in/out process went smoothly. I look forward to staying here again! read more

came to this property with my boyfriend, I'm a black women and he's a white man, he's stayed at this property on multiple occasions, books through Priceline and yet he's always allowed to use his chime card and was either NOT charged a deposit or charged a lower fee deposit. I, was given a different set of rules, I was made to pay fees he wasn't, wasn't allowed to use the exact same card that he was allowed to use. I called the manager and Ryan actually had the audacity to say "well the staff is new, so they didn't know." I'm like Sir are you telling me that in 2021 your staff is so poorly trained that they don't understand they are supposed to have THE SAME SET OF RULES for customers regardless of whether the customer is white or black. Are you telling me your staff didn't know that the black customers are supposed to have the same rules as the white customers and I kid you not, Ryan yes "Yes that's what I'm saying." And in case Ryan would like to deny that he said this you can ask the bus full of people sitting here listening to me on speaker phone have This conversation. Not once did I cuss or even raise my voice and I find it incredibly insulting to my intelligence to be told that I AS A BLACK WOMAN have to deal with this from a property I paid HUNDREDS of dollars to stay at. This is ridiculous, now I understand why I saw ZERO other minority guests. Everyone I saw staying there was white; and now I see why, this hotel staff treats guests of color differently than the white and the manager just tells the guests to get over it basically. HORRIBLE. Went to take a shower this morning and the shower head barely trickled, original front desk rep was very apologetic and due to girl being completely sold out, was unable to offer us another room to shower in. Said he would let the manager know and would request a discount on our $200 a night too . As my husband and I were checking out at 7:22, I stopped by the front desk to confirm with new person (breann) that a note was left. After showing her the pathetic video of water dribbling out, her comment was "that should be enough water to shower in". At which point I explained that we weren't interested in getting trickled on , that for $200 a night we at least expect a shower that would be able to wash the soap from our hair. Not to mention my husband is 65 and 6'2", taking a bath for him was not an option. The fact that she tried to trivialize the situation was inconsiderate and rude. This little cute hotel is very clean, pet friendly and awesome for people who like to stay fit because there's yoga mats, balance balls, work out bands and other fitness items inside the hotel room. Also there's really different and uniquely equipment at the hotel gym on the 2nd level. All the rooms are even #s so that's kinda interesting. The room is very clean and overall the hotel is very nice. The free breakfast is alright. The waitress was very attentive and came several times to see if we needed anything else and took away our empty plates. This was nice because our table was very small. A 3-star hotel? Really? There were small hairs all over the fitted sheet. There was visible dirt on the bathroom floors. The thermostat situation was weird as it didn't work consistently. Walking through the lounge area to get to downstairs was odd, too. The housekeeping staff was observed audibly complaining to each other about guests; apparently that's what they spent their time doing instead of cleaning. The hotel is in a not ideal neighborhood for that kind of business-especially one claiming to be "3-star" and charging accordingly. Would not stay here again or recommend to anyone. read more

Nice new hotel in Eugene. They put me at the end of the hallway away from any noise. Adequate towels and bedding. I get that it's energy saving but I didn't love that the thermostats worked on motion sense so I came back to a cold room at night and had to wait for it to warm up. Parking was plentiful and I'm grateful I did not have to pay extra for it. The front desk staff was very nice on checkin. Even the cleaning crew had a smile and a good morning for you. Based on other reviews and a call to the hotel, stayed 2 nights in the Eugene EVEN Hotel and had a positive COVID-related experience. The rooms are very clean, and the staff is dedicated to this purpose. Really appreciate that IHG treats pet-owners the same as other guests with the same caliber of room - a rare experience even though we pay more than other guests. Because of their COVID practices and pet policies, we rarely choose a different hotel chain. That's the good part, otherwise I would give it one star because of this: I was paddling on the willamette east of Eugene when my float bag with wallet, Iphone, and cash , car keys,....went "away" (bad knot I guess). I hitched to Eugene, where a branch of my credit union was: problem...it was Saturday evening - banks are closed on Sunday. Sh-t. I finally figure out how to order two nights, at this hotel, using the public internet workstation at the Eugene public library (god bless them). When I arrived at EVEN HOTEL, desperately looking forward to a hot shower and bed after sleeping in the park the night before....they refused me because I had no ID. I walked over to the wonderful Macs they had in the lobby and showed my online CA drivers license AND passport with photo ID on each. No go. They took my $365 two night stay payment and kept it, and I was on the street twi more days before First Tech Federal Credit Union recognized me as a customer since 1979, and gave me cash. Wow....Even doesn't even come close to empathy towards the seemingly lower caste. Shame on them. read more

We stayed at this place when visiting friends. While it is in a somewhat weird location and looks like it used to be a medical center, the atmosphere is wonderful. From the flora wall as you walk into the first floor to the pool or the elevators to the spacious and open rooms, the all around vibe is hip, chic, and modern. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We got in late the first night and were offered some "Sleepytime Tea." It was so good that we were sure to get more the next night. While we didn't use the bar or marketplace, it was great to know that they were available. Our room was very clean, easy to navigate, and welcoming. We loved having the fitness gear so that we didn't have to worry about brushed teeth and showers before hitting the fitness center. An added bonus was the complementary water bottle. EVEN Hotel is part of the IHG Hotels so I was able to add to my collection when staying here. There aren't many of these on the west coast, yet. When I am in the area, I would definitely stay here again. No Doubt. read more

Where can I start! Traveling home from Washington and got caught in a snow storm! Decided we couldn't go much farther and booked a night at The Even Hotel Eugene. What a great experience! Great nights sleep and attention to detail is outstanding! Power was out in parts of the city, people scrambling to find a warm place to stay and many restaurants were closed! Upon arrival there was quite a line to check in! The young woman at the counter stayed pleasant and diligently tried to accommodate everyone! Even with customers behaving badly she kept a smile and tried to help! The bar and restaurant were packed, learned that some employees had not shown up due to the snow. The bar manager and bartender were a great team! Although the bar manager was not a cook she rolled up her sleeves and took the duties on! That left one young man to man the bar, take food orders and serve both food and beverages. He was great! Food was excellent and cocktails were perfect! Just what every traveler needs after driving for hours in a snow storm! Hope your upper management recognizes these outstanding employees! read more
