Nice little restaurant in Annapolis. Heard good things about it. The restaurant was full, and people were eating outside. Settled for a breakfast item - the French Toast. Unfortunately, it was burned on one side. After eating some of it, I sent it back. The next batch was a little better, but still slightly burnt on one side. We were really glad to find this place. The quilting shop down the street recommended it. The atmosphere is bright and feels cheerful; casual, with tables outside in case you brought your dog. Street parking in front is limited but there is parking around back. Breakfast or lunch the entire menu is available. I tend to study the menu for two meals, the one I'll eat today and the one I'll order next time -- because I always plan to come back again. The dishes are imaginative without going into exotic. The ingredients are fresh and best quality - love their apple-smoked bacon. I've been there with friends several times and had the soup, sandwiches, omelets, and a sausage wrapped in bacon. They are all cooked or otherwise prepared perfectly. Oh, and the home made chips are especially yummy. The servings are generous but not huge, I'm not a big eater so I usually have leftovers at home. The noise level is too high for a quiet, intimate meal. This is yummy food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Bring your appetite and a smile. May 21st visit for a Sunday breakfast. This was nothing special, but a good addition to the neighborhood and will do well. Very much like Eastport Kitchen across town. Both OK at best. But they serve a purpose. As for my visit..... It was noisy and in terms of the quality of the breakfast, it was not too much better than Denny's or the Double T; but it came with a premium price. The staff seemed unfamiliar with the menu. Ordered an omlette with ham and cheese and peppers. Was told they had no peppers. Uhm, isn't that a staple in the breakfast world? Also the breakfast menu seemed limited...heavy on the granola and nuts for the tree hugging, yoga doing crowd. No benedicts and no real egg entrees. They did have pancakes and french toast and a few panini and quiche things. Checked out the lunch menu and it was typical lunch fare with typical Annapolis prices. THe $10 burger, $9 sausage sandwich, $7 grilled "goat" cheese (is Bill the Goat aware of this?)..but if you call it a panini, the price jumps to $9. A lot of restaurants seem to now be using buzz words to justify prices. Farm to table. (not seen here) an others. The buzz words I noticed here were "grass fed beef" "Vegan friendly" (and you are vegan or you are not.... All in all it was ok. My omlette was a full three eggs but very solid and dense and dry. I might be back if I am over that way again, but not really going out of my way. read more

My husband and I ended up here after trying MANY Other places to eat that were so busy you couldn't even find parking let alone get a table.... as we were leaving the area we passed this little shop on the corner that looks like it literally just sells coffee and that's it, but you walk inside and there's a breakfast bar and a decent amount of seating. It's a nice quant place to eat. Their menu is small but has a little bit of everything. My favorite over all was the pancakes, I think they were pumpkin but I'm not sure. Just had breakfast. Love the fresh new decor. Menu had some good looking items, but we wanted a traditional breakfast. They will do it, but it isn't on the menu?? Seems strange for a breakfast place. I ordered eggs over medium, crispy bacon, crispy hash browns and rye toast. Also ordered 2 sweet potato pancakes to share. One egg was broken therefore well done. One egg was done right but quality of eggs were cheap production type eggs. Bacon was thin cut but tasty and crispy. Hash browns could have been good but were barely cooked. One piece of rye toast was barely toasted. Pancakes were tasty but burned on the bottom. My husbands corned beef hash was tasty but way underdone as he asked for it crispy. All said and done, I think the food could be good if they hired a really good short order cook like Regina's had. Would love to see them make it. read more

This morning was our second time visiting Evelyn's. My in-laws were in town and I raved about the brunch we had there weeks ago, so on their last morning in town we stopped in. I imagine that waitstaff isn't thrilled to see a party of four with a stroller walk in - somewhat understandable. We waited for a table, trying to make ourselves as small as possible in the tiny waiting space near the front door. Some time later another group of two walked in, after them another party of four (without a baby). We were asked to move towards the back, in front of the bathroom since space was limited. Not an issue, we moved and wanted for a table. My husband and I had our eye on the table in the front by the window so we could put our daughter (who is still asleep in her stroller) by the window out of the way of staff and other guests. As the table was cleared the other party of four was sat before us... I reminded Autumn, who is apparently a manager, that we were here first. I thought she had forgotten in the busyness of the morning. She said, "I know." Her voice thick with annoyance. "I'm going to sit you here so you have more room for the stroller." At the table in line with the steaming hot food and coffee coming from the kitchen. I inform her that I wasn't comfortable with that and we had planned to put our daughter out of the way by the window. Autumn, "we always put people with strollers here, I don't know what to tell you." At the point I asked to speak to another manager. She informed me that Brandon, the another manager, wasn't there that morning but I could "call him tomorrow if I'd like". I've never been more disappointed in a locally owned business. read more

Bam. Great little spot. Breakfast all day is automatically an extra star. Only open 5 days when we visited but it felt like it had been flowing between the kitchen and front of the restaurant for a lot longer. The Weems Creek omelette was great. The right amount crab and scallions for taste. The pancakes are fluffy. Feed the Navy was good and meaty but not overwhelming. Has a good light, Naptown feel inside. Can't wait to go back!!! Today was my first experience at Evelyn's and it was beyond expectation. This storefront has been host to a family favorite for years before it closed down allowing Evelyn's the opportunity to take over this location. I was cautiously optimistic when I arrived that I would even get a seat. The cue had people out the door, but I guess I timed it right as We were able to be seated almost immediately. We were quickly greater and drink orders were taken (it was lunch so we were unable to enjoy the full bar offering.) The decor is clean and the open kitchen makes for some fun conversations as you try to match plates with the menu description. The menu is fun, exciting and fresh. The meals are sized appropriately, and not expensive for the quality. As I eavesdropped (not really) people were all very positive about their meal choices. I had a sausage sandwich which was fantastic, not good but truly fantastic! I also substituted my chips for the chic pea, tomato and cucumber salad which was a great choice (I did try the chips which were good as well). Service is spot on and fun. The staff is attentive, but not annoyingly involved. I can't wait to try breakfast soon. read more

Small restaurant with limited seating. You're definitely gonna wait if you want to eat here. The food is good, don't order the sweet tea though because it isn't sweet at all. It was busy & although only 2 waiters serving tables, we still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. The egg salad sandwich is good, fresh fries & fresh home fries. First of all, I'd like to preface my rating with the fact that the food itself wasn't too* bad but was disappointing and when coupled with the entirety of my experience is then worthy of 2 stars. Food: 2x 2 egg breakfast. I ordered 2 eggs over easy, hashbrowns, sausage links and toast. I got 1 piece of toasted bread cut in half with no butter. Seriously, who doesn't butter their toast? Part of the over easy egg experience is that you have buttered toast. The eggs were OK enough, not really seasoned much but cooked OK. The home fries were good but did need seasoning but normally I wouldn't complain if the rest of the meal wasn't a let down as well. The sausage links did not mention they were maple flavored and I do not like maple sausage. That was another learning curve for me and again, had my breakfast been worth $4 let alone the $29 I paid for it after tax, delivery and tip i wouldn't bother bringing it up. Overall my breakfast was kind of crap with all things considered. My coworker got the other 2 egg combo I ordered and he got scrambled, toast, hash and sausage patties. The sausage patties were the highlight of both of our breakfasts. He was kind enough to trade me a link for a patty since he likes maple sausage. Those patties were quite good. His toast (1 piece as well) was also unbuttered (why?!?) and eggs and potatoes mostly bland. Ordering through Door Dash you don't have the option to purchase a la carte breakfast such as extra hash, an addtl egg or sausage etc. to customize your experience nor could you add butter for the toasted bread. There was no way to know or adjust having butter on your warmed bread so maybe the two of us are in the minority of people who like warm bread with butter? I've gone on about that toast - my apologies. Anyway, $8 per player, $5.99 delivery fee + tax and a $4 tip meant our breakfast for 2 was $29.83. I just felt that a Wawa breakfast burrito would have been equally filling, much better tasting and 1/5 of the price. Lesson learned. read more

After driving by many times, I finally stopped in for breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed a large serving of a breakfast burrito and fresh cut tomatoes. The food and coffee served was fresh, tasty and satisfying. Their menu will welcome any healthy pallet even a unique kids menu. We like to go out to breakfast on Saturday mornings as a family. We have 2 little ones and this was a great place. Coloring sheets and crayons for our toddler. Food was really yummy and service was wonderful. They even offered coffee to go! They had fresh (not super sweet) whipped cream on their waffle which I absolutely loved. I have to say I am very impressed. Not only is their menu great, with more options than I expected, but Evelyn's (despite only having less than 20 tables) gets you seated right away. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a restaurant does not move tables quickly, or vice verse, the restaurant rushes you out the door. Evelyn's was crowded this Sunday after we attended mass. The hostess was energetic and sat us quickly. We were able to browse the menu (a bin located on the wall to the left as soon as you walk in) while we waited. The mimosas were fresh, served with a slice of orange. I ate the Rachel, a honey roasted turkey sandwich, served warm, filled with homemade coleslaw, thousand island dressing and Swiss cheese. I took a bite of my sister's panini, which was made with chicken goat cheese, sliced apples and honey. THE GOAT CHEESE WAS SO SWEET (not to mention, they put a generous amount of the panini). All the employees were helpful when we needed anything. The kitchen opens up into the dining area, so as soon as you walk in, you smell deliciousness. read more
