Where do I begin? We live right around the corner, and have eaten here many times. While the food is consistent, it is very pricy for it is not to be great. Today, we ordered a medium-rare burger that came out well done, and the fries were cold. We also got the Reuben, which was ordered with sweet potato fries. The corned beef on the Reuben was dry and the regular fries were also cold. We had to wait for the sweet potato fries that arrived after our disappointing sandwiches were eaten. We had to ask for straws, we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled twice, ask for ketchup and wait for our check. Our waitress walked by us at the register three times without even acknowledging us. There was trash inside and out with employees just walking right over it. I have read the responses from management and it does not appear that they care if you have a bad experience "we'll see you next time seems to be the theme"; not so much! read more

Don't drive too fast or you will miss this place. Tucked away in a strip mall, the modest exterior appearance is misleading. The inside opens up to an expansive space with more food choices than you can imagine. Too many options and they all look good. Main and Market has a full bar but no draft beer. Several staff on site, and we were seated right away. Service was good and server was helpful with suggestions. They also have staff clearing empty plates so your table doesn't get cluttered. I'm only going to rate the apps and my dish: Buffalo fried green tomatoes were tasty, the spinach and artichoke dip was really good and served with little naan pieces. The waitress brought us warm bread with honey butter, which I highly recommend. I ordered the pot pie, which comes with a large pastry puff on top instead of a crust. It also had large pieces of chicken. My preference is a pot pie with shredded chicken and a crust, but this was a nice twist. We didn't have room for dessert, but if you are into monstrous layer cakes, I suggest you leave some space. They have a sign that says, "Start with dessert" or something like that and that might be my approach next time...and there will be a next time. read more

I wanted to take my husband out to breakfast this morning to somewhere we had not been together. So we went to Main & Market. It's close to home and all of the food I have had there at other times of day has been great. We chose a cozy booth by the window and enjoyed our coffee (their coffee is excellent). Our server was Erin, who is very peppy & pleasant. I ordered the corned beef hash, with two eggs over easy. It was a huge portion with big chunks of corned beef, potatoes & onions. It was not really what I think of as hash, but it was tasty. But I probably would not order it again. My husband ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with turkey sausage. He loved their breakfast potatoes. They have lots of options, including benedicts and make your own omelet. So we will be back. Lots of the local breakfast places are a frenetic experience, but this was very relaxing. read more

I recently attended an in home wedding reception that Main & Market catered. The food and service were wonderful. The food was delicious and at an elevated level - no crudites platters, unlike like caterers who were contacted. The hosts opted not to use servers or an offered bartender but the staff collected dirty plates and glassware constantly, keeping the house exceptionally clean and well ordered. The original plan was for the reception to be held in the garden, but Maryland thunderstorms changed it to a crowded indoor reception. The caterers handled all the changes very well and unphased. I highly recommend their beef kabobs and delicious salmon bites. I was a guest but staying at the house, so I experienced the caterers from start to finish. read more

We have come here for the last two years in a row for a Mother's Day breakfast with our moms and have really enjoyed it. The service is always so great and the servers were all so friendly. It's cozy and has lot of great options. My husband is not a fan of breakfast that much and there are so many great options that are more for the "savory" crew including lots of great Benedict options, a breakfast burrito, etc. We always enjoy it here and I like that you can reserve a table on their website ahead of time. This is purely a review for Main and Market CATERING. We recently got married and were extremely excited following our tasting with Main and Market. We had a great tasting and left feeling as though catering was the ONE vendor we wouldn't have to worry about. We were wrong. While our wedding was still beautiful and memorable - we had a lot of things go wrong on the catering standpoint and were left extremely disappointed. I'm in the wedding industry and had high hopes to find a caterer that most of my fellow planners and clients don't typically use but now going forward, I cannot in good faith, recommend them to my future clients or my colleagues. - The biggest disappointment was that the chicken for our group was ice cold. Not warm, not room temperature, ice cold. As if it was just pulled out of the fridge and smacked onto the plate. The steak served with our dinner was not hot either. Our guests were reluctant to say anything but once my husband and I finally got to eat our food, we were horrified. We then asked our head table if it was just our plate or if they had the same experience and reluctantly, they told us their chicken was cold. - Working in the industry, I've worked with countless caterers in Maryland, Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania and I've always seen caterers set aside a plate of hors d'oeuvres for the newlyweds at their head table to enjoy after cocktail hour since typically, they are busy taking photos or mingling. There were no appetizers set aside for us. We were only able to try one piece of bruschetta and that's because we had to find a server who was passing them around. This was the same for our desserts, we never got to try them. - It was discussed in our tasting and in emails that Main and Market would be passing champagne along with our bar team for the champagne toast. Even though it was on the timeline and clearly noted, this never happened. Our flutes sat empty on the tables, merely for show. - Another thing noted AND confirmed prior to our wedding was certain food allergies and dietary restrictions. We had two guests, one with a cheddar cheese allergy and a pescatarian. I had it clearly visible in our floor plan and seating chart where these two guests were sitting and I was assured it would not be an issue. The guest with the cheddar cheese allergy would have her potato without cheese and our pescatarian would receive a SALMON skewer, as indicated in our email exchange. Come to find out my friend with the cheddar cheese allergy received the same potato everyone else did. And during our dinner, I noticed my pescatarian guest eating a plate full of broccoli. JUST broccoli. I called a server over and told her the situation and how he is supposed to be receiving a salmon skewer. She was very pleasant but confused and said she would go check with her team. She comes out with SHRIMP skewers? I'm glad she was able to accommodate my guest but it was the incorrect menu item and the worst part was had I not brought this her attention, the guest would not have received anything. Embarrassing. - Lastly, when having our tasting, we specifically mentioned to Nanette that because we were having a smaller cake, we opted for mini cupcakes which contained the same cake flavors so that even the guests who didn't receive a slice of cake (because there wouldn't be enough with such a small cake), would still get to enjoy the flavors with the mini cupcakes. Well it wasn't until we were saying our thank you's to the vendors and making our way off the boat that the caterer handed me the cake to go. The ENTIRE cake in a box. Not one slice was cut? HOW and WHERE does this confusion happen to where the caterers don't think we want the cake passed and put out for our guests?!! We ended up having the chef at our after party location cut the cake and pass it out to half our guests who stayed out. So many people after the fact kept telling us how wedding cake is their favorite part and they never got to try ours. Would not recommend as it seems there was such a gap in communication from sales to operations. read more

Haven't been here in years, but it's gotten even better! No wait on a Saturday morning due to excellent service and food prep done well. I had the classic Eggs Benedict which were absolutely perfect. We had a conference for almost 50 people and I called on Main & Market at the last minute. They really saved the day! The food was great, the service was stellar, and the cost was reasonable compared to other caterers I had called. They were so flexible about everything - menu changes, requests to accommodate guest allergies, and the staff even packed up all the leftover food for me to take back to our office from the venue. The service staff never seemed to take a break all day - I found them busy every time I needed them and they dropped what they were doing to help me or answer my questions. The one time they weren't available, I thought 'they finally took a break' but, nope, not on a break - they were putting trays of leftovers into the fridge in another room so the food would still be fresh hours later when I headed back to my office. I had to hug Casey at the end - he and his serving partner (the quiet guy, whose name I have forgotten) really made our event look (and taste) very professional and high-dollar, for a fraction of the high-dollar price. read more

We have been dining at M&M for years and have never had a bad meal! It's our favorite restaurant in Annapolis. This past weekend my husband and I took our daughter and son-in-law to dinner and Jackson was our server. He did a wonderful job of taking care of us, and was so welcoming and attentive. Jackson made a couple of cocktails that were absolutely outstanding! The food was delicious- we enjoyed the meatloaf, salmon, and a bowl dinner- each one was amazing! Main and market is a favorite lunch place for my friend and we go almost every week and we get salads. I needed to do something for my friend because of some help she gave us so I treated her. I got the Mexican Caesar which was wonderful and she got a harvest salad with Salmon on top it was quite expensive but of course I wanted to treat. I tasted her salad and the harvest part had no flavor at all and the salmon was overcooked. This was a great place to warm up after a cold ice skating sesh! My group of six popped in on a Sunday night for an early dinner. We all got side Caesar salads which were delicious. My burger hit the spot and the bites I tried of my friend's French onion soup and chicken pot pie were delightful. There are plenty of restaurants in Annapolis, and a fair few catering establishments. There are even some notable cafe/catering combos, but there is only ONE Main and Market. One company that will not only create imaginative, delicious menus to delight all palates, but service staff that will (and did!) go the extra 1000 miles. Robert the chef and Casey the Magician brought skill and professionalism to our wedding dinner, but also creativity, imagination, incredible situational awareness and problem solving that helped to smooth a million unanticipated road bumps (forgotten bouquets, powerful emotions, a naked wedding cake, an unexpected pescatarian..) We owe a huge debt to the expertise and generosity of Robert and Casey, plus Nanette and Bess' guidance on the art of what's possible. Came here for brunch after hearing so many great things about this restaurant and it was so good! I couldn't pick one thing so I ended up with the hashbrown bowl and then ordered a single sweat cream pancake to try. I ate every single thing. I also got their hot chocolate with their homemade whipped cream and that is a definite must! They had many bakery items and cakes that also looked really good that I'll have to try one day. My friends and I dined here on a busy Saturday AM. We arrived right after the breakfast shift and had to wait over 30 minutes for our lunch entrees to come out. I personally loved my chicken pot pie, hummus platter and french onion soup. The pot pie had large chunks of tender chicken and the cheese on top of the soup with the rich broth was absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the Buffalo wrap, mussels and fried chicken sandwich. The wrap and mussels lacked flavor and the fried chicken was too salty. Service overall was right in between. Our server was great. Just took a long time for our food to come out. I do like how the lunch menu has plenty of food options. I noticed a lot of folks order take out and there were plenty of kids here as well. Just be mindful when you dine here the switch from breakfast/lunch is around 1130 ish so there maybe extended wait times. read more

Just stopped with the girls, food has really gone downhill since last time. We ordered French onion soup and it was the best of all the dishes we had. Had the grilled chicken sandwich and sweet potato ff, the honey mustard we got was really runny and didn't really pack a punch! The salads we got were okay, caesar was the best then the salmon salad then the Cobb. The 2 bowls we had were subpar flavor too. We ended with dessert but they were in the large front case and need to be covered so they don't dry out. We had 3 different pieces of cake and unfortunately all were dry. This place has a very creative menu with lots of gluten free offerings. My husband and I like it a lot and it was introduced to me years ago by a friend who I always met with right here! In fact, we're going there with family tomorrow for lunch. The salads are great as well as the poke bowls. If you like a little muffin with your meal, they have delicious ones. I can't eat them anymore since I had to go gluten free. Wish they would make some gluten free which everyone wouldn't even know - might like them even better! read more

My mom and I were shopping in the area and decided to stop in. We came in on a Monday around 12:30pm. We were greeted immediately. We were told to choose any table we liked. Our server came over almost immediately, welcomed us to the restaurant and took our drink order. We took some time to look over the menu. My mom ordered the Signature Reuben (house made corned beef, Swiss cheese, 1000 island dressing, coleslaw, marble rye) with pasta salad and pickle. She loved it. The beef was delicious and tender and was a fairly thick cut. The bread was crispy, the toppings were fresh, and she loved the pasta salad. I ordered the Mexi Wrap (grilled chicken, avocado, cheddar jack cheese, pico de gallo, romaine lettuce, lime cilantro sauce, chipotle tortilla) with pasta salad. The pasta salad was really good. It was a tri-color rotini with cheese and peas mixed in. It was creamy, but not heavy. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought the mexi wrap was okay but I probably wouldn't order it again. Everything inside was fresh, but it was about 60% lettuce. For the chicken I did get, I received pretty large chunks and the chicken was juicy. I couldn't really taste the lime cilantro sauce. Our server was very friendly. She answered any questions we had and refilled our glasses without us asking. She also checked in on us from time to time. The restaurant was nice inside. It definitely had a neighborhood bistro kind of feel. They have a catering area next door. Parking can be a bit tight since it's in an area with other businesses. They offer desserts, pastries, etc., which looked pretty good. There was a section for day old items for a discounted price near the door. The ladies bathroom had a table with mouth wash, tampons, pads, hair spray and room spray. This is genius! I thought that was a smart and kind thing to offer. My mom ordered a crab cake sandwich with a side salad for my dad to-go. He's very picky about crab cakes but he did like this one. He thought it was good. The toppings were fresh, as was the salad. Our catering associate Nanette, the cake designer and Jess our server hit it out of the ballpark! Even though we had a simple menu for a graduation party, Jess did a beautiful presentation for the buffet. Food was delicious, and everyone who attended stopped and took a picture of the CAKE! it was a cap and torso of a Marine officer's uniform- a masterpiece and piece of art! The cake was for a female midshipman graduating from the Naval Academy as a Marine. Everyone at Main & Market that we worked with on this was incredible. Sometimes you discover a hidden gem around the corner. Went to Main & Market last night to celebrate MD Restaurant Week. Had the two specials and was blown away by the presentation and gourmet quality of the food and drinks. Started the dinner with an exotic Sangria then nibbled on freshly baked bread with sweet cream butter. Was served a delicious Hungarian mushroom soup followed by chicken and shrimp a la vodka and shrimp imperial and beef tenderloin. Lovely, casual place for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Quite busy when we arrived around 10:30-11am, so I would recommend making a reservation. We were seated right away and drink orders taken. Fun, seasonal menu available with lots of variety. Crab dip was delicious. There is a bar and a separate bakery station which offered a nice variety of baked pastries and desserts. Veggie omelet was a nice portion, but could use just a tad more flavor, however hash browns were good. Great service! This is a great place to have in Annapolis. Nice use of space in the little two story strip mall near Quiet Waters Park. I went here for soup for my partner who had a terrible cold. It was pre-lunch and it was nice and empty. They were so graceful and concerned about my partner. I got a nice chicken soup and some muffins for carry out. It made him feel much better. The place has grown a lot since opening. The Jerry's Sub place closed next door, so I wonder if they will expand into that massive space. That would be awesome. I do a lot of volunteer work at Quiet Waters Park, the largest park in Anne Arundel County. They have weddings and events there often. Main & Market is a big caterer there and the events I've attended have always been fabulous. It is nearly in my back yard, so I wish them continued success! read more

Service was fantastic and food was incredible. We were torn on what to get and ended up getting more so lunch for me and the kids and brunch items for the kids. Kids loved the pancakes and I loved the tuna salad and shrimp wrap. Family friendly and they had some booths which was nice. The food came out quickly and the service was attentive.
