Yes it's not just coffee it's a bookstore with a real live mascot in Ferguson the friendly Bernice Mountain dog. Check out the drink specials it will be worth your while to order one because can't get them year around. The pasties or good as well, just ask them to heat them up because they are cold! My only complaint is they didn't heat up our pastries and by time I sat down I don't want to get back in the long line to ask them to heat them up. Of course I could just skip the line but did I mention it's small and cramped to navigate. There is a downstairs so be sure to check it out. I got mine with a chai over some good quality oat milk. I could imagine the experience having gone smoother, but I would return if I found reason to be in Annapolis.

Parking out front is very limited--maybe five cars--but there's more space in the back near the food truck, and there's a rear entrance, which is probably the best move. Staff was friendly and efficient, and even from inside you can tell things are run pretty smoothly. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that side much, but I've had food brought home from here before by my wife and really enjoyed the matcha tea smoothie in the past. Overall, I'd definitely return. I think Rise Up does a good job in general, and I've enjoyed their Severna Park and downtown Annapolis locations before. I just expected more out of a $10 biscuit sandwich--but I'd happily come back for the tots and other menu items.

They are an inclusive employer, hiring people with disabilities. Our server had Down syndrome and did a very nice job attending to our order. We ordered the beverages, took the stand with the order number to our table and awaited the drinks to be served. The time between ordering and receiving our beverages was between 5-10 minutes. The lattes were served in the usual plastic Tatte cup, so it had the typical presentation. From the first sip, we realized that the drinks were watered down with essentially no flavor. At best, there was a hint of chai flavor, but definitely not on par with others I have ordered elsewhere. I would return again because of the location and ambiance, but I certainly would not purchase another chai tea latte.
