The bread that I purchased today at Sprout
    Kendy H.

I have been going to Sprout since they opened in this location. I am very sorry to report the quality has been going down since the beginning. I have tried most of the products offered. Today I went in and bought a loaf of Multigrain bread (pictures included) and came home and sliced the loaf. There is a giant air pocket through the entire loaf. There needs to be some quality controls. SO DISAPPOINTING! I am willing to pay for quality foods and regularly go to multiple locations to pick up those quality items. Honestly, I expect more...you should also have some supervision for the young people working because overall the case was sparse at best.

There is seating available if you would like to enjoy a coffee or other heated beverage with your sweet treat. There is also the option to place orders for larger pastries, platters, cupcakes, and cakes. The staff working here was very kind and attentive. I opted for a small box that comes with two petite fours and three macarons. The macaron flavors that I tried were the salted caramel, milk chocolate amaretto, and dark chocolate. The petit four flavors that I tried were the red velvet and the triple chocolate. Everything I had here was so beautifully made and tasted fresh. I will definitely be back here again.

Staff were very friendly. Inside they played French instrumental music. Store is super clean and cute on the inside. They offer an extensive selection of flavors of their pasties which includes various macaron flavors, cupcakes, and cakes. I got a cannele, hazelnut financier and a mango iced matcha. The pastries were fresh, soft and mouth watering. The mango iced matcha was a little disappointing due to the bitter after taste of the drink. Looking forward to trying other pastries and other drinks at the patisserie.

Having said that, it was pretty well run and after waiting in line I found two registers waiting and was able to order a variety of baked goods and a fresh sandwich, which were prepared for me quite speedily. I wouldn't expect to be in and out immediately at peak times, but for me it was maybe forty-five minutes to wait in line, get food, and eat my sandwich. They offer good options for special dietary needs. The vegan sandwich is based on Old Bay marinated tofu, and they are not kidding about that. It is really, really Old Bay flavored. The tomato and avocado livens things up, but honestly the best part of the sandwich was still the sourdough bread, which is fair enough for a bakery. The spread of pastries I acquired was resplendent in quality and variety, and I will be happy to continue trying out all the Black Market locations to see which one is the most convenient.

We ordered the oatmeal pie, almond croissant, wildberry danish, Black Market bun, lemonade blueberry scone, and a caramel cappuccino. Ordering took maybe 4 minutes, and our food was already being bagged while we were ringing up. The drink took another 3 minutes, which was more than reasonable considering how busy they were. What really stood out was the customer service. The guy behind the counter found out it was our first time and immediately gave us a free scone, then took his time explaining how everything works. He walked us down the line, explained what each baked good was, pointed out the most popular items, and even shared his personal favorites. As busy as they were, they still made sure we felt taken care of. There was also a young lady bagging orders who jumped in and out of conversation while working--just as friendly and welcoming. Service like that is refreshing and definitely made an impression. He jokingly asked if he'd see us next weekend... and yeah, we'll definitely be back. The shop was clean, noise level was moderate, and there are a few tables if you get there early or get lucky, but most people seemed to be ordering to go. Lighting was good, and I didn't really notice any music. Price-wise, everything felt more than fair for the quality. They told us everything is cooked fresh daily and they basically go until they sell out--which makes sense given how much business they were doing. The food was excellent: fresh, flavorful, and a great mix of sweet and savory. Honestly, the only regret I had was not trying the breakfast sandwiches--we watched a few being made and they looked serious. Overall, this was an all-around great visit. The way they operate is unique, the food is top-tier, and I can absolutely see why people rush in to grab their favorites before things sell out. Without a doubt, we'll be back.

They were out of the bread special I was hoping for. This wasn't overly surprising as a bakery like this will sell out of things on a nice weekend, but it is important to keep in mind. The rest of their selection of sweet and savory pastries was intact, and while I did not indulge in the prepared food menu on this visit, it does have good options for most dietary needs. The pastries I got were of high quality. It wasn't quite as good an experience as I've had at other Black Markets. For one thing, a cannoli roll that I got was just so creamy it was a mess, and to make things worse the bag they gave me for my pastries tore with pretty minimal stress, causing me to drop most of the items, most of which survived okay but not so much that ultra-cream-covered one. And then the little baguette bag they gave me popped open on the bottom and dropped my baguette. They really need to work on packaging. The mix of flavors is intriguing and seasonal, and I would certainly return. The inside can be a little busy and messy to eat in, but for someone like me who is mostly looking for a pastry spread to go this is a great place and I'll probably keep trying every location they open.

I immediately receive an automatic reply, letting me know that my request was received and that I could expect to hear back within 2 to 3 business days. In her response Leah explained her plan and vision, based on the add-ons that I wanted, and even showed me how an element of our theme that I did not know how to incorporate could work on the cake. She sent back and forth examples to really narrow in the vision and provide guidance. Leah even went above and beyond to accommodate an early pick-up time since we were heading out of town with the cake. She was extremely accommodating to our special request for the cake details and the accompanying cupcakes we ordered, and consistently professional and responsive the entire time through. The final product was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. All of our guests (and us) were raving over and over about how good the cake was. So moist, great flavor, and just perfect.
