    Steak & eggs hash
    Starvel D.

I've been to the Bowie location several times but this was my first visit at the Annapolis location. I wanted something hearty so I had the steak & eggs hash. It's a combination of steak, roasted mushrooms, onions, mozzarella, spinach, and potatoes topped with eggs, and Parmesan cream sauce. It was yummy in my tummy. I added a little salt and pepper on the eggs because they weren't seasoned, but nothing else in the dish lacked flavor. Steak for breakfast isn't usually my go to, but after having this dish, maybe it will be. To wash it down, I had the purple haze. It's basically lemonade with butterfly pea tea (it turns the drink purple) & lavender. I love a pretty, purple mocktail. For dessert, I had a cinnamon bun sprinkled with gold sprinkles I think. It looked really pretty but it was disappointing. The roll was really dry and a little hard. I only had one bite.

I met a friend this morning at this location of First watch. I have visited other locations in MD & VA, with mixed impressions. I was pleased with how bright the space was, with lots of comfortable booth seating. Our server was friendly and helpful; the coffee came immediately and our food came out promptly. This review will focus on a couple of factors that are not always important to others: budget and calories. I find many fancy breakfast places are geared to fancy, high calorie options that can make a dent in both the waistline and the wallet. First Watch is no exception--if you have no limitations, they have lots of delicious options. (I did see things like raspberry French toast go by that looked spectacular.) However, today, I did not want to spend a fortune to meet a friend for coffee, and I did not want to consume a days worth of calories at breakfast. (They do have healthy choice options on their menu but they seemed like more than I needed today). So I chose two items off of the sides menu. The bowl of cheese grits were a decent size portion, and they were delicious. The bowl of mixed fresh fruit was also delicious, and it was actually more than I could eat. But the two items, along with their good coffee (they leave a carafe on the table), was a great start to the day. You can see both cost and calories ahead of your visit by checking out the online ordering menu. I was told they do a nice brunch.

What a find! Such a great concept and everything was delicious. Plus the prices are so reasonable given these times. My only quibble was that they pre-sweetened my husband's ice coffee and put ice in the freshly pressed juice (!) But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had such a wonderful time here. Santsoh Upreti, the General Manager made sure that I had the best experience. I was greeted properly, no wait and I was seated promptly. Mike, only the best server ever, took great care of my guest and I. The drinks were strong, the food was served fresh and hot, just like I like it. The Trifecta menu option with a side of Millionaire Bacon was perfect for my Sunday Brunch. The atmosphere was so relaxing and I love the outdoor patio ambience. Just perfect for a sunny Sunday afternoon. Covered patio, fans, outdoor bar and beautiful flowers and greenery for the perfect scenery. I totally recommend, so come on down and enjoy.

I don't leave reviews unless the experience is exceptional. I had a wonderful meal! There was real care taken by the kitchen staff to get things just right. Best breakfast I've had in many years. Thank you again to the staff

TIP: the booths by the window can be cold in winter. What I really loved about this location was that they had a "breakfast bar". This was an area in the back with about five or six stools kind of like a counter at a diner. I didn't try it on this visit, but I think it would be perfect for solo diners. This First Watch is an end store in the shopping center. It is clean and comfortable. Service is good. I've tried just about everything at this location, but my old standby is our morning meditation, and a quinoa ball. This location is worth trying.

He let me know about the half off wine special and half off pasta Wednesday specials as well. We ordered the salmon with Brussels sprouts wild catch dish, crab dip, and the Cheseapeake pasta. She continued to ask if she could take our drink order and I had inquired about the cost of the bottle of Saratoga water it was $6 and we decided to purchase the which left me thinking the tap water was not good. The food I had bacon, eggs, shirmp and sausage gravy, prime rib roast and grits. The egg were okay. The bacon was good and crispy. The grits and cheese was good, shrimp and sausage in gravy. The gravy was so thick you could not get to the meat. The prime rib was small and over cooked. I also ordered a latte with espresso and coffee both was so weak the Saratoga water tasted better. Asked that both be removed from my check. The music was great. Note: be prepared to pay an 18% gratuity/tip which included in the total on the check. There was three in our party our tip was $28 which means it's $9.33 per person.

Alexander's once before, and it was good enough for me to come back--and it did not disappoint. For this area, the cost was surprisingly budget‑friendly, especially considering the quality. The town center around it has clearly changed, with several stores and restaurants closed and even the old adjacent parking lot gone. But once we walked inside, the experience was excellent. Our server was friendly, helpful, and honest with her recommendations. My daughter and I both ordered the Chicken Palermo, and it was outstanding--fresh, tasty, and served in portions that rival anything back home in Texas. The broccoli was delicious, and I swapped one side for Brussels sprouts, which were just as good.

For a restaurant with a full bar, it was surprising they had no mezcal and were supposedly out of top-shelf bourbon, yet still served me a drink that tasted overly sweet and nothing like the premium bourbon I ordered. Another letdown was the lack of bread service. Other J. Alexander's locations usually serve croissants, so having none available took away from the experience. The food didn't make up for it either. The steak lacked flavor and felt low quality for the price. The "fried chicken platter" was basically oversized chicken tenders marketed as an entrée, and the mac and cheese was watery and bland instead of rich and creamy. Overall, the experience felt inconsistent and poorly executed. Between the missing staples, questionable bar service, and underwhelming food, this location did not feel worth the cost.

Girls' day turned girl evening and rightfully so. Full On Craft Eats. The Toast online ordering system was easy to navigate and adorned with pictures of every menu item. I could not get past the onion rings on the starter menu hoping they would taste as good as they looked. My friend offered to split the Slammin Salmon sandwich and onion rings since she has had it before and never finished the entire thing. I took her up on it and the order was placed. A quick ask for mom to grab it on the way home and the food made its way back quickly. WOW is all I can say. When you order food to go there is a level of expectation that it will not be as good as it is at the restaurant, especially fries and onion rings. But in this instance WOW. Talk about food that travels well. Fourteen minutes away and the food was still warm, the onion rings were so crisp, and the garlic and dill aioli and onion ring sauce were just right. The Slammin Salmon was served on ciabatta bread that was not too soft not too hard, with salmon cooked perfectly. The lemon dill aioli was a game changer so much that my friend's advice to order extra was well received and committed to memory. The onion rings lived up to the hype, cooked perfectly with a crust I cannot even explain. The kind you bite into without losing the entire onion from the breading. Dip it into the sauce and you have a match made in heaven. Half the sandwich was more than enough but the next day I would have loved some leftovers. Now for the extra razzle dazzle. I left to visit a friend in DC and sent him the menu, shared my experience and he was locked in to try. Online ordering was closed since they were closing at 10pm so I called as a last-ditch effort since the anticipation was already there. The nicest most warm individual answered ten minutes before closing and was more than happy to take my order. She even made sandwich recommendations. I quickly arrived at a shopping center that was easy to get in and out of. Walking in you immediately arrive at the counter and takeout area to your left with a nice bar area a short walk past on the right. The cooks and wait staff were having the best time using the 6/7 saying that was all over social media late last year. They were considerate when they noticed I was in the restaurant, but I assured them I loved their energy. I see why the food is so good because the energy shows it was made with great vibes and laughter all around. As I grabbed the bag to leave the hostess stopped me to add another fork and extra napkins since I would need them to add the pickled veggies on my sandwich. Such a nice touch. Thirty plus minutes to DC and the food still did not need to be reheated. The Mai Thai sandwich was a hit with flavors that married well and the onion rings delivered again. The Spicy Thai wings were good for wings but typical. They had a lot to compete with. Full On Craft Eats Annapolis, not to be confused with Rockville, is an experience you will want to repeat again and again. Good food fast that travels well (yes that is a thing).
