I've found that they are *amazing* with their customer service, knowledge of their products, and their prices are more than fair for what they offer and give. Decided to stop in at Europtics to look at eyeglass frames. I have been wearing glasses for 60 years and have had many eyeglass frames! I started to poke around and saw some rimless, which I have wanted. (By the way I usually have at least 4 pairs of glasses at any one time.) Vonn introduced himself and began to educate me on these particular brand of frames from Germany. Titanium. After 2 hours of trying different sizes and shapes and colors on, I decided on a pair. Needless to say, Vonn and staff are very patient and extremely customer service orientated. Beautiful service. My one-of-a-kind glasses are worth the cost. Further, Vonn reminded me to came back for another fitting in about a week, which I did. And he even texted me a few weeks later welcoming me to stop in anytime if needed. Over the past few years I've purchased 2 pair of prescription glasses from Vonne at Europtics. Because I don't like dealing with more than one pair of glasses at a time, I bought the progressive, transitional combination: (prescription/prescription sunglass) so I can wear the same pair indoors or outdoors. They are fantastic! And Vonne is too! If there is any issue that comes up where the glasses come from the lab not as requested to every detail, he stays with the issue until it is resolved to the customer's satisfaction. TL;DR: Super helpful. Stunningly good. I've been wearing prescription Serengeti Drivers -- glass lenses -- for decades. Amazing glasses. I could see the colour of a squirrel's eyes from 100 yards...or so it felt. Then I dropped my current pair on a ceramic floor. Boom; thanks for playing. When I wasn't able to find them online (as I had in the past, since few optical shops carried them), I stopped by Europtics since they were one of very few stores that carried the line. They were very candid about how they thought things stood, but told me they would confirm with the Serengeti rep. They got back to me soon after, confirming that prescription glass lenses were no longer available from Serengeti. I asked about other brands with glass lenses, but basically it did not look good. I emailed later asking for a recommendation. What I got back was EXACTLY what I was looking for. They clearly had understood my needs, and they went into a fair bit of detail regarding why each recommendation worked towards those needs. They also noted why they were not currently recommending glass lenses. I was really an epic note. I've written emails like that myself, so I understand how much time and thought it took to put that together. This wasn't some blow-off response; this was deeply and thoughtfully considered. So I went back in to place the order. Everything about the process was explained clearly. And the icing on the cake: they could even use my current frames since only the glass had broken, not the frames. I picked up the new pair today. Perfect. EXACTLY as requested. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I have been looking for a frame that fits me, and after years of search, finally found one at Europtics. Lindberg frames are only sold in very few select stores, and Europtics being one of them, carried a full selection. Needless to say the lenses, both regular and driving are outstanding, adjustment of the frame was spot on etc etc. However, after more than a year, I have decided to purchase a same frame as a backup, but was told that it was already discontinued by Lindberg. Some time later I get a text that the guys got me the same frame from Lindberg!!! Now that is what I call a great customer service!!! I really like this store. Great selection and very helpful customer service. Started off looking for a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. Looked up retail shops recommended on the company website. Europtics was listed. They had the Aloha Friday's I was looking for, unlike some other places. In addition, they carry EyeBobs reading glasses. You could purchase cheap reading glasses at your local pharmacy. But once you buy a pair of EyeBobs, I'll surprised if anyone would return to cheaply made reading glasses. For me, one of the few items in my life I don't skimp on are glasses. Poor quality glasses is like bottom shelf liquor. Easy on the wallet, but end up with a headache. Five star review: For starters, previously went to Europtics competitor out of convenience. Not only was I insulted by the competitor, but pressured to purchase sunglasses they had in stock. And of course, I left and never to return. Days following telephoned Europtics to know if Aloha Fridays were in stock. The lady who answered the telephone kindly put me on hold to verify. She said they were. I much prefer to be put on hold then to drive the distance and learned the item I was looking for was not in stock. In the store, Doug who assisted me in my purchase was very courteous, friendly and helpful w/o being pushy- perfect! In addition, he took notice to my EyeBobs and I then discovered they carried the EyeBobs line. Bought a pair of those also. Outstanding service and an amazing selection! I have purchased 4 pairs of sunglasses here, and every time they listened to what I wanted and made recommendations based on what I told them. They have never tried to up-sell me for the sake of up-selling. Sometimes they recommend a pair that is more expensive than what I was originally looking at, sometimes they recommend a pair that's less expensive. In either case however, I truly feel like they care about meeting my needs and expectations when they make recommendations. I have purchased Maui Jim and Costa Del Mar sunglasses from them, and they have the best selection of those two brands out of any local retailer. While I'm not into the other designer brands, they still have an amazing selection of models with each brand. I used to wait for online bargains on name brands in order to save 10 or 20 bucks. But in the end, I usually spent full retail with shipping anyway, and online retailers are never there for you when you run into issues down the line with a pair you bought. Sometimes the online discounters aren't even in business a year later. I believe Sundown has been there in the same location for more than 10 years, so I never worry about them disappearing. You can buy with confidence at Sundown. Anytime I've ever had an issue with a pair of sunglasses purchased from them, they make it their personal duty to work on your behalf with the manufacturer to resolve the issue quickly. It's piece of mind as a customer knowing they will handle warranty issues for me. I am always greeted with a smile when I walk in the door, they even learned my name within a couple visits. Sometimes I only go to browse for 10 minutes, but ANY time I have questions or concerns, they are right there for me. Gary knows more about lens technology than anyone I've ever met, and both ladies are friendly, knowledgeable and informative. After sizing me up--as well as taking into account my prescription--she immediately zoomed in on one particular pair of round Lindberg frames that fit my face perfectly. I ended up purchasing these frames and could not be happier. Europtics is not the lowest priced shop around, but what good is it to save money only to pick a pair of frames that do not match your face or prescription--not here. I did end up ordering my lenses elsewhere, as Europtics does not accept VSP and I figured the selection of the frames was more important (her husband, Doug, is a meticulous lens craftsman, however). First time I went to this store because my last pair of cheapCostco glasses caused a bad case of contact dermatitis-- very common I understand because of the use ofNickel in cheap frames and as usual in the US completely unregulated market. Little consumer information given on or with glasses about frame content either. So went in to see if they had hypoallergenic frames.They did-- large and very nice selection- especially in stainless steel. Zach was super-knowledgeable and helpful. They are very expensive and do not take insurance (you have to go out of network application to your insurance company after you buy but most optical insurance doesn't pay much and wants to force you to buy cheaper inferior and possibly allergic products) but very top quality.
