I didn't end up buying anything while I was there but I learned so much from the employee there. Shawn was very attentive to the needs of both me and my girlfriend and so knowledgeable that he found both of us pairs of glasses we didn't even realize we would love. We came in with the mindset of finding a specific set of glasses for her and left almost 2 hours later wanting a completely different pair after recommendations from Shawn and trying on many pairs. I like this store but today SABRINA went above and beyond in customer service. I came in with a pair of glasses that I not purchased from this store. I was very upfront with Sabrina that while I had originally tried on an identical pair several months back, these were not that pair. I was honest that I had purchased the glasses from Amazon, but they fit nothing like the glasses I had tried in store. My intent was to purchase the original sunglasses but sadly they had been discontinued. She didn't have to, but Sabrina took the pair I had brought in and adjusted them to fit my face. Just like any other Sunglass Hut with tons of Ray Bans, Oakley's and Ralph. The employee was very nice and wasn't pushy which is great because I hate being pressured. The store is pretty small but they did have a lot of different brands. They even had a clearance section and they had a promotion that if you bought two pair you would get $40 off the second pair. If I could leave 0 stars I would. Seems like every manager of every sunglass hut is useless and just a straight up a jack ass. Came in today during Christmas Eve with my dad. Was about to buy my dad a pair of ray bans for 250$+. I told the manager Alberto that I had bought a pair of sunglasses a little over a year ago and a roommates dog had chewed on the glasses pretty much destroying them. Here's the long story short. I bought some ray bans about 2 years ago from the Carlsbad outlet mall. About 3 months after I bought the glasses a roommate of mine dog had got to the glasses that were left on my kitchen table and chewed on the glasses practically destroying a 150$ pair of sunglasses. I bought the pair from the sunglass hut in the Carlsbad outlet mall and I came back in cause sunglass hut has a policy where you buy a pair of glasses and get a 12-13 month repair policy on the glasses where you get a new pair if you report it in time. I told the manager of the Oceanside store today 12/24 on Christmas Eve that the Carlsbad store had moved locations and for some reason didn't have my receipt stored in there system the reason I never got a replacement is because they switched stores and never had the information stored which sounds like a straight up scam to me. I am a busy person and really haven't had the time to dispute about this but since I was in sunglasses hut today trying to buy my dad a pair of sunglasses I inquired on how I can get a replacement. Alberto the Mexican manager told me that he looked my name up and said I still had a warranty and I was told to bring in the glasses and he would replace them. I asked him to make sure he kind of brushed me off in the store cause it felt like he didn't want too deal with me but shit bro that's your job and that's what puts food on your table . I told him I would be back Monday but said fuck it I'm just gonna go home go grab the glasses and come back in . I even brought the douche a gift for honoring my warranty. This manager once I got there checked the serial number and told me it wasn't the same glasses under the warranty I explained the situation to him like 5-10 times and every time after that he said he could offer me a 30% discount on a new pair. I told him look douchbag I don't want a new pair of sunglasses I shouldnt have to buy I should get the honored policy on the pair I bought about a year or two ago I never got use. The guy pretty much said he couldn't do anything for me didn't give me a customer service number when I asked. So I asked for his supervisors contact information to explain the situation. This manager Alberto man you need to have better customer service and you don't know how to deal with difficult situations in the slightest. The guy pretty much said gtfo to me and was no help at all. My dad didn't even want to buy a pair cause he told me the other employees in the store wouldn't stop hassling him to get a pair of sunglasses not to mention the other employees of this store are like totally unapproachable they make you feel super uncomfortable as soon as you walk in. So we just went to the next store over spent 200$+ on hats at lids. Overall the manager at this store is garbage and I think every sunglass hut store manager and employees needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers. I am not always a dick but when I feel like people are talking down to me I'm gonna go the extra mile to call you out. Don't worry Alberto Im gonna speak to your supervisor on how you treated me you should of just done what you said and not wasted my time and gave me a comparable pair of glasses and honored the sunglass policy cause I'm gonna make it my fucking mission in life to make sure someone speaks to your fat ass! I mean it's all about you go things I didn't like being told information that was communicated poorly. If the manager Alberto did his job right and mabye took some runs in the morning the dude might be a happier guy and have a clearer mind so he can deal with difficult situations and communicate the best course of action properly. I am gonna call back Monday and send so many god damn emails to your higher ups that you either will have regretted how you treated or will learn a lesson. read more

Just bought a new pair of ray bans from the Sunglass Hut in the Carlsbad Mall, it was my first time buying a real pair of quality sun glasses and I had a great experience! Jessica was extremely helpful, she told me honest opinions of the glasses and helped me pick the right pair. I really liked the pink ray bans but she told me they were not polarized so she helped me find the pair that were similar that were polarized since I decided that was important to me. Jessica made sure I knew how to take care of the glasses, made sure they fit correctly and she checked me out extremely quick and made sure I had a receipt in my email since I always she lose my paper one. Overall I had a wonderful experience and Everyone else in the store was very friendly too! I will for sure be back! read more

Went to this store to get the same pair for the same price all things considered and was told they would not honor the same price. Just spent over $1,000 and have been a customer for life. I have purchased close to $2000 worth of sunglasses from them. They claim you can come in within first year and pay half to replace if you broke them. I went in, they claim they could not find my purchase (I filled out their registration card 5 times) and wouldnt give me another pair of glasses. I purchased sunglasses from these guys for years. They are cheap and break about once a year. I went to buy another pair and they told me the manufacturer (NYS) has a lifetime warranty. He told me I could take them to their other location as I didn't have the broken glasses on me. The next day I went to the alternate location and was told I was crazy and that there is NO warranty. The women actually called me stupid and drove me off after other customers saw they were not being truthful. Never use these people, they are NOT HONEST! UPDATE----- So, I went back to the original store in the Carlsbad outlet center. The employee there was very apologetic and said they had had issues with the employee at the Carlsbad mall in the past and he will have a talk with the owner about the issue. But today I decided to try to see if they could fix. I was pleasantly surprised and excited! I do not like to frequent Macy's Carlsbad. They have chosen not to remodel. to keep up with the times and continue to hire substandard employees with less than acceptable dress codes (could be what you pay them), and by the way, I am not talking about my Sunglass Hut assistants. The MACY'S employees were substandard, but I can tell you the Sunglass Hut girls were interrupted multiple times to ask where the bathroom was, whereht women's department was, etc, which interrupted my customer service. Thank goodness for the fun, non- assuming customer service that Michelle (Manager) and Perla ( Associate) provided to me when I wanted to purchase some Aviator lenses. I CANNOT thank them enough when I went in the first time and bought Tory Burch glasses, returned, and bought Ray Ban aviator. The girls were friendly and professional. I was amazed at the knowledge about sunglasses the staff at Sunglass Hut had. I thought sunglasses are sunglasses, but thanks to Dusty and his staff was shown the difference between polarized and how that will help me see through the ocean glare to notice things at the bottom. There is a neat demo in the store that shows you the difference in the polarization, they also helped to tighten my glasses for the best fit on my face. I was amazed at the service I got from a mall shop and would definitely recommend the Sunglass Hut at the Westfield Mall to everyone! My husband and I first went in there on 5/30/15. There were signs up that offered 'Buy one pair of Polarized, get $40 off another pair'. My husband really wanted a certain type of Oakley and we were told that that style was discontinued and they no longer carried them. After picking out our 2 sunglasses, Roxanne (the new store manager) told us that that offer had expired. Upon further investigation, we realized that there were 2 different signs up with different offers. The staff was entirely unaware of what the signs said, what promotions were being offered. And the one offer we wanted had expired several months earlier. Fortunately, Roxanne honored the expired offer for us. But, afterwards, my husband found not 1, but 2 pairs of that 'discontinued' pair of Oakleys. So, apparently, the staff doesn't know what they have in stock or what promotions are being offered. The staff then started on working on my glasses to fit them to me. After several minutes and lots of adjustments, it still wasn't right. I was told to just give it time and maybe they'll just stretch to fit me. I gave it over a month and ended up going back in on July 7. Roxanne was working the counter. I explained how my glasses were still uncomfortable and she immediately put them on her face??? She made a few adjustments then put them back on her face, then gave them to me. My right cheekbone is higher than my left and I tried telling her that. She just looked at me like I was stupid, so I let it go. After each adjustment, I would tell her what else needed to be done. Finally, I tried to tell her that I needed the part behind the ears a bit tighter. She said, no you don't. I said they feel like they're going to fall off. She said, you don't need them tighter. Then I told her that the arms were jiggling. She said it was because she tightened them, they were loose. I'm not sure how something jiggles AFTER you tighten it. I told her they weren't loose to begin with. She continued to argue with me about the fact that my arms were or were not loose. Whatever, I just left. They were even worse now and I had spend the whole day at 6 Flags without sunglasses because they were so uncomfortable. So, I took my husband in there with me today. My husband started to explain to Roxanne that it looked like the bend on the arms looked warped. She immediately put them on her face?? My husband explained that we needed them adjusted to fit my face not hers. She said she could tell if they were warped by having them on her face. Again, my husband asks her to please fit them to my face, not hers. Right away, she got really defensive and yelled at him and told him she wasn't talking to him, she was talking to me (which she wasn't. I was letting my husband do the talking for me). So, I tried to tell her that I had explained about my high cheek bone last week and she looked at me like I was stupid. "No I didn't" she snapped. I again tried to tell her that that was what she did the other day only to hear her snap, "No I didn't". She interrupted my husband and I the WHOLE time! We were just trying to explain how my face is different and how this is now our 3rd time in here to get them adjusted and we didn't understand why she kept putting them on her own face. She was extremely rude. She didn't even try to listen to us. What happened to 'The Customer is Always Right'? She has a very pious, defensive attitude and should not be in a place where she deals with customers. She's a poor representation of Sunglass Hut and Macy's. We ended up returning the sunglasses for a full refund only so we wouldn't have to deal with Roxanne anymore. read more

My husband and I came here today for a new pair of Oakley's. The lady working was very nice and super helpful. I made a comment to him regarding returning his Maui Jims online cause they broke. The lady overheard and stated that they carry the Maui Jim return boxes with the address pre-printed as well as the return sheet inside. We were so happy, she saved us time of searching, printing what we needed and getting a box. She really didn't have to but she did.
