Update to my Review from last February- As I said we NEVER saw a doctor. We saw technicians and people who received on the job training, as well as a video interview with someone who said they were a doctor and reviewed our computer exam. These people are DIAGNOSING and prescribing lens and glasses!!! After months of headaches, tests including an MRI, ER visits and a prescription without relief it was finally realized I have been wearing the wrong prescription since this HORRIBLE SCAM place saw me last February. Come to find out my husband's prescription (and very expensive glasses) were also wrong. I have made multiple complaints about this place to CA medical board. They should not be allowed to see patients when the doctor NEVER steps foot in the building! Unethical malpractice is the platform for this company ! read more

I had an urgency to get my daughters visiting tested. I called up Staton and the person who spoke to me said there was an appointment available. I asked about insurance , and he said we don't take Insurebce but we give discounts to CIGNA. I very specifically asked him how much the test is going to cost and he mentioned since I'm getting a discount it's going to be $25. I reached the place only to find out that there's none physical Optomologist there. It's completely virtual. I wish I had been told about this before . When the time came to checkout , the lady at the front desk told me my total is coming upto $129.99 I told her about the phone call. She said with discount it's still $70. I asked her why I was given a false impression that it's $25. The only thing she kept saying is we have told our technicians to not mention that , but they still do. She said you can pay $70 or you can leave. I paid $70 as I needed the prescription. It's not about the money. It's about misinformation and manipulation for the sake of profit. Waited an hour and a half for an appointment we had. We were the only ones in the store and we confused as to why we were waiting so long. Come to find out we were waiting for an optometrist to get online to complete the exam. THERE IS NO OPTOMETRIST ON SITE!! The exam was completed via video call. Once we were finally able to get everything done, we were told AT CHECK OUT that they do not accept any insurance. Had we known this when we walked in and checked in for our appointment we could have saved ourselves some time. read more

I am literally sitting in the parking lot after my appointment writing this review. I just had the best exam experience!! The exam was quick and seamless. I didn't have my insurance information because I was unprepared and the tech was so kind and understanding while I looked for the member ID #. Even though my policy was not contracted we worked out a discount plan to match my copay. Then when I picked out my frames and lens, I was hesitant due to the prices but luckily Jose helped me find the best deal that worked for my situation!! Plus Affirm was offered to help with monthly payments. I am so great for my overall care experience. I've had a positive experience with Stanton in the past, but this one not so much. I called the store ahead of time to ask if I could be helped with my glasses I purchased there a few years ago so I don't waste my time. The store number took me to a call center that wasn't any help. So I drove over there to find out they only have a technician there until 3pm and not on weekends. I asked if I could leave the glasses there and have them fixed (the rubber nose piece fell off) and pick them up the next day. They said they couldn't due to liability. I asked about getting an eye exam since I was already there, but they can't do that in the evening as well. Whereas they are open until 7, it seems like they can't do much after 3. Maybe an eye exam before 5. This place isn't very conducive if you have regular work hours, even though it seems like they would be. They referred me to go to Oceanside or Escondido that have techs and someone to do an eye exam with later hours. Other than picking up glasses, I'm not sure what they can actually do until 7. read more

UPDATE: BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!!!! I reached out to the number provided by the owner and they weren't much help at all. They put me in contact with the vista location and the manager Nathan was combative, claiming everything on their end was perfect. However, no one went over results with my fiancé and I and our prescriptions magically got better than the last time we had our eyes checked by a thorough in person optometrist. We asked for a refund due to bad medicine practice and negligent treatment and Nathan just kept talking in circles about how their process is perfect. Do yourself a favor and pay more money for an optometrist and clinic that knows what the hell they're actually talking about. read more

Extremely deceptive business practices. They say the eye exam and one pair of glasses is free with the purchase of a pair, but that is not the case. You pay upfront for the exam, and they say you get a discount of 45$ back when you buy glasses... but there's no discount listed on that receipt. In the end, you are given two receipts- one for the exam and one for the glasses. That is clearly not free!! Other issues I have with this place include: - You don't fill out forms for your medical history; it's all verbal. That means anyone in the waiting room can hear them ask everything from your HIV status, to if you're pregnant, have diabetes, etc. - The doctor is remote and located in Florida. She does your exam via video screen. Overall, I do not recommend this place to others! read more

Nathan was awesome! I don't wear glasses very often but like to have a pair for when I need them. I always get ones I don't like just to get it done, but Nathan was very patient with me and told me what looked good and what didn't which is exactly what I asked hm to do. We found the perfect pair! I had used Eyeglass World for the past 4 years but had some issues with them not standing behind their products in 2021. I needed a new pair of glasses for golf so I thought I would try Stanton Optical in Vista. That was a good decision. The store manager, Tom, was GREAT. He did all the pre-exam work before turning things over to the "Zoom" optometrist. Though I had never received a prescription this way, it actually worked pretty slick. Once they emailed Tom my prescription he was then excellent going over my choices of frames and lenses until we got it right. I ended up buying 2 pair and am very happy with them so far.....hopefully my golf scores will improve! Tom, thanks again for taking real interest in me and getting me the right glasses. read more

I left offended & like I seriously overpaid! I have rarely been as disappointed as a customer. You really have to watch the pricing and ask for discounts. They market buy one get one free. I picked out $49 frames- the first price they gave me was more than $800. Eventually they got the price down to just over $200 but the advertising is very very misleading. They have all kinds of "hidden " extra fees. It feels predatory- you think they are going to be discount but they are not! They said the glasses would be done in an hour but it took so long I had to come back. One pair was ready the next week- the other pair took 2 weeks. They told me after the fact (when I came back after a week) they had to order the lenses, they didn't know how long it would be. (My prescription is very mild.) The frame quality is very flimsy. They didn't fit straight- when I pointed that out the guy (& the manager) said my ears are crooked probably. I have worn glasses (sun & prescription) for 40 years & have never had that issue before! The other pair don't fit like that. I was rather offended by his condescending attitude. I can't imagine him speaking to a man like he spoke to me; Weird comments about my hairdresser & my ears. The quality of the lenses is disappointing & the experience unpleasant & the cost is quite high for what you get. read more

Horrrrriibble place, facility looks nice...but this is a perfect example of everything that glitters aint gold. All staff members unknowlwdeable and no one in building can authorize anything. Heres just a few of the things i saw during my experience; -my daughters had a eye exam scheduled, but turns out there was no optometrist ...they did it televideo with a "refractionist". I had a school form that needed filling out, but they couldnt complete it because ...well, no optomitrist was there so have to come back. The televideo thing may work, but would have been nice to know this when booking appointment. -another customer was ordering a pair of glasses he wanted in black. Jose...the guy helping him says "well the computer not letting me pick a color so we can just order it & hope for the best"‍‍wtf -another woman comes in saying "im here to pick up printouts of my records/test results, i just spoke w a guy named jose 10 min ago and he said i could swing by for them" ...other employee..guy2 says...well, we cant give u all that, just your prescription"...(meanwhile jose says nothing )...in end, guy 2 says ...i have to ask my boss for permission so u will have to come back. ....u get the point....try local...not corporate...in end corporate will always be corporate.. read more

I hate to leave negative reviews but in this case there's no other option. Like others, if we could leave 0 we would. We stopped by Stanton because we wanted to check them out. We started here and couldn't find any frames he liked. We were sent over to the Oceanside store and again due to my husband's hearing aid we couldn't find any frames that didn't make his hearing aid have feedback. We opted for giving them his OAKLEY frames to have JUST the lenses replaced. And they LOST the glasses. We paid over $700 for those glasses and another $500 plus just for these lenses. They told us they could not refund us the money we paid for his Oakley's and they would give us a new frame. Hello that was the issue in the first place!!! Absolutely the worst experience ever! Now the only option is small claims court to recover the cost of the frames! read more
