Aww i can't believe my original review got filtered! I wanted to re-review this place because of the amazing service I received when I came back here to get a contact lens exam. Dr. Duong listened to my concerns and problems with my past contact lenses. She recommended a pair that would suit my needs and gave me a trial pair. After a week of trying them, she gave me a follow up call to see how I was liking them. I had issues focusing and with dry eyes so I went back in. She fit me with different pairs to try until I found a pair that felt the best at no additional charge. She really works with you to help you see the best and to make sure you are happy. After my first visit I received a phone call from them a few weeks later, at that time I told them I did not get my prescription for my contacts. They said they would email them to me right away; I never got an email. After a week I found the time to go in to pick up the prescription, which was then printed out for me. I asked if I could make another appointment to check if the contacts were a good fit because one of them was giving me a problem. He was setting the appointment but told me I had to give him back the prescription he just gave me. I paid for the prescription and I felt there was no need to return it just to have a recheck on the contacts I got from them. He then said he would not honor my appointment so then I told him forget it and left. They lost a customer it shouldn't be that difficult to get what you paid for. The eye doctor herself is fantastic but I have and will walk away if the person greeting you is not pleasant and reasonable. read more

I called in to see if they could see me today since my last contact ripped . I usually get my contacts at Cosco since the price is cheap, but didn't renew my membership so I started to search elsewhere. I live in Vista and this office is in San Marcos, was well worth my trip. Julia answered my call and understood my desperation since I had no more contacts and was able to squeeze me in. As soon as I got there she was so friendly and the doctor came out to introduce herself. The exam went great the doctor was very professional answered all my questions. The best way to describe this optometrist in one word: Meh... The husband and wife team are nice. Front office clerk is also nice and helpful. Their shop is clean and updated. But for all the niceness, it can't make up for the husband and wife team running late for two separate appointments. I had the 1st appointment (9am) on 2 separate weekends, and they nonchalantly arrive about 15/20 minutes late both times. Then, they didn't even acknowledge or apologize for the inconvenience. It's the time of the year for me to get my annual eye exam since my insurance just renewed. Decided I'll check out the new optometrist that just opened across from my old Dr. I had called earlier to see if they took my insurance, which they said they did. When I walked in, it looked nice but was completely dead. Looked around at their glasses and there wasn't much to choose from. Most of the stuff was pretty basic, nothing special. The area in the front with the glasses isn't very big. A woman (not sure if she was the Dr) eventually came out to try get me to have an exam. She kept on saying they could take me right now and they have very cheap specials on glasses if I had an eye exam during their grand opening. I asked to see the glasses that were included with the special and they seemed of poor quality. I asked them to check my insurance again to make sure everything was good. This time they told me they didn't take my insurance "yet", which was interesting because when I called they said they did. She said they were still setting it up. She told me not to worry and to just get the exam and we'll figure the insurance out later. I felt a little uncomfortable because I had a bad experience before with insurance where I later found out nothing was covered and I got stuck with the bill. To make a long story short, I decided to go back to my old Dr. He is getting old but at least I know I'll get a quality pair of glasses and there are more to choose from. read more

The customer service I received from start to finish was excellent! I called to make an appointment for my husband, William to get his eyes examined because he was in need of reading glasses. There was a confusion on my part with the name of the vision insurance we have but the receptionist was great at finding the correct name and what insurance we actually have. So, I made the appointment for my husband. There was no problem setting an afternoon appointment after work. My husband came home and was so happy that I found Dr. Duong. She is so sweet, caring, very knowledgeable, and gave him all the information he needed to choose the correct glasses. So, he ordered his glasses and waited a few days for them. Once Dr. Duong and her staff received the glasses, they had found that something was not right with the glasses and sent them back. Although, my husband had to wait another few days for the glasses, it was fine with us. We liked the fact that Dr. Duong and her staff took the time to inspect the glasses and make sure they were correct before having my husband come pick them up and finding something wrong with them himself. I love this place! I came here on one of there first opening days to schedule an eye exams. The doctor and assistant were very kind and nice. They gave me a discount of course because of the grand opening. I have not yet tried their glasses but I definitely will! I get my contacts here. Both clear and colored contact. The first time I told Dr Nghi about my dissatisfaction of the colored contacts. AJ called me back within 1 week and told me she had ordered another brand! It is awesome! This is my first time ever needing glasses, and I'm a firm believer in customer service. When I first saw this optometry place, I was a bit nervous considering I've never been to one. I was early to my appointment but they took me in anyways, and my mom who didn't even have an appointment. We ended up staying really late since we couldn't make our decision on what frames we wanted. However they accommodated us very well. Through the process of making our lenses, they made sure to get it done on time according to our very busy schedule. The prescription my mom needed was well past our budget and they lowered the price for us, making sure we can afford what we need. This optometry exceeds far beyond exceptional! They are amazing. So i got my new insurance and right away i went on yelp to see reviews for "eye doctors". I'm always scared to be upsold things i may not need so after many reviews i found clear focus Optometry. All the amazing reviews made me want to schedule an appointment. I went to their website and requested an appointment online. A couple of days (3 day holiday weekend) later Lisa called and got me all set up for an appointment that same week. I went to my appointment yesterday and right away Lisa helped me out and provided awesome customer service. She explained what my insurance covered and showed me some inexpensive frames i might like. The doctor then took me in to the exam room and was so nice and caring right away i felt comfortable. She took her time to get me the right contacts and we tried 2 different prescriptions for one of my eyes. I did not feel rushed at any moment which i really appreciate. She then pour the dilating eye drops and i went out and chose my pair of glasses. Once i was all dilated she took her time to examine the inside of my eye and ensure its healthy. I left here feeling like i had the perfect prescription and i cant wait to get my new glasses and contacts! I found this place because I don't have health insurance and called the first ten yelp listings. They had a special going on exams through the end of the month so I gave them a shot since they were by far the most affordable. I have to say, I was a little apprehensive since my appointment day got mixed up (easy fix since they called to confirm beforehand) and they are a tiny place in a strip mall. The sign walking up only said "metry". Not sure what happened to the first part of the sign or if it ever even existed. Luckily my concerns were quickly addressed. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and thorough. I love that the doctor was so professional yet friendly and warm. She definitely made the experience the reason I'm giving them five stars. She made sure to address everything and really took the time to make sure I was happy with both the exam and the contacts we went with. She also went out of her way to help me take advantage of everything possible within my budget. As long as I live in the area, I have found my new optometrist.
