I am beyond angry with Sunglass Hut and how they handled a $654 charge that should have been refunded months ago. On 12/18, I placed an online order for sunglasses with in-store pickup selected and was immediately charged $654. Shortly after, I received an email saying the item was not available for pickup and would instead be shipped to the store. That same day, I called the store directly and was told they had the sunglasses in the back and to come pick them up. When I arrived, I was then told I could not receive them under my existing online order and was forced to purchase the exact same sunglasses AGAIN in a separate transaction. The store assured me that once the original online order arrived, they would return it on my behalf and issue a refund for the original $654. I trusted them. That was my mistake. Weeks passed. No refund. I returned to the store and was told the original order had been received and returned, yet no receipt, no confirmation, no proof of refund was ever provided. I contacted corporate customer service, who confirmed: Their system still shows the original item as DELIVERED TO THE STORE, with NO RECORD of a return or refund ever being initiated. I relayed this back to the store. They once again promised the refund would be issued. That conversation happened over two weeks ago. Still nothing. As of today, the $654 charge is STILL on my account, despite multiple assurances, multiple follow-ups, and zero documentation to back up the store's claims. Sunglass Hut has now taken my money, provided no product for that charge, and cannot produce any proof that they returned or refunded anything. This is not a mistake, this is gross incompetence at best and extremely unethical at worst. In attempt to "help" me the manager Yvette has given me her direct cell phone number but is now not replying to me. Save yourself the headache, the stress, and the risk of being double-charged. I will never shop here again, and I strongly recommend others think twice before trusting this company with their money. read more

Honestly have been a loyal patron of sunglass hut, usually UTC but came to this location for help with a pair of designer glasses with a manufacturer issue. I may have read the room/manager wrong but he seems exhausted by his job and uninterested in helping and rather just provides a canned response basically saying sorry can't help good luck to ya. At least in my field of work I try to help my clients find a solution (even if I can't provide it myself) rather than just shooing them out the door with no advice--you're the professional/sunglass manager id think you'd maybe know what steps I should take. I treated myself to a fancy pair of shades, I figured it was time. I can't keep just buying these cheap knock-off $5 sunnies just to throw around the car, the purse, the house etc. Those are great, don't get me wrong but are they really protecting my eye health?? That is to be debated..I don't think so. Lemme tell you, I walked in looking for something with 100 percent protection from both UVB and UVA rays. I wanted lenses that also block UV wavelengths up to 400 nanometers.I also wanted a good size so that obviously more of my eyes are blocked. Not to mention, they can't be too dark so you can keep them on ALL day. I was looking for a brown/sephia tone to brighten up the world ay. I went with thee classic Mr.Ray Ban and a beautiful fashionable statement piece that still brought the looks while being smart. Who says you can't have both.... They had amazing deals, it was fun to try on so many options. Huge fashionable major brands. The woman working the register was so nice and she said my dog was cute. He played security while I looked around so it was a win win for me and the store that evening. I am a happy customer and my beautiful Ray Bans even came with a beautiful case. love it!!! read more

Meanwhile, the gentleman would observe what kinds of sunglasses I seem to like and suggested a few for me to try on. He gave me a case for me to put my runners up on to finalize later. I picked 4 sunglasses and placed them all on the case he gave me. In the end, I was able to walk out of there with my Tory Burch sunglasses that I absolutely love. I also got them for a decent price due to the $30 off. The gentleman rung me up and was able to upsell to me the sunglasses cleaning solution kit, so I got that as well. I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes and I left with great sunglasses, it was a great experience. We went into this Sunglasses location a couple months ago and Francis was working that day and answered all the questions when we were looking to buy Ray Ban Meta glasses. We couldn't find the one that we liked so we left that day. Enough sunglasses to satisfy every eyewear urge. I found a nice pair of Armani Emporio rectangular glasses with a blue interior rim. Do not shop here! Unless you want to be humiliated that is! My boyfriend and I were just falsely accused of stealing. I was applying for a credit card, while one of the two employees went to the back, came out and asked my boyfriend why there was a missing pair of sunglasses. She went to the back to call security, and security was at the door instantly! When she confronted my boyfriend she realized that the pair of sunglasses were just misplaced in a different spot. Why would we steal when I just gave out my ID and Social Security number???? On top of it, the employee, a harlot (some 18 year old blonde kid), was only helping my boyfriend even though I was the shopper and he was windowshopping. She was following him around complementing him over and over, her voice sweet as molasses, but when she helped me (only to tighten the glasses not to pick out a pair), her voice was monotone and rude. I recently bought a pair of Pradas here cause I was looking for some aviators. When I got home, I was wondering why I paid so much for it cause the price tag said $285 but I ended up paying around $330. I checked the receipt and found out that they charged me for $310 instead of $285. I called the store and they told me that they could adjust the price and to come back in. I checked their website and found some Zegnas on sale for $195. So I went back to the store to return the Pradas and the manager informed me that I could order the Zegnas from them and get next day shipping for free. The website promotes free shipping but if you buy it at the store and order it through them you can get next day shipping for free. Sunglass Hut was very helpful on returning the sunglasses and I ended up getting the new pair 2 days later thanks to the manager. Pro: ordering at the store for online purchase has free next day shipping. Con: The Zegnas came in a generic sunglass hut box and a bag for the glasses. It didn't come with the Zegna case, which I wish it did. I had lost a pair if Zegnas previously so I had a case and just used it. I didn't feel like going through the hassle of contacting the main company to just get a case and the rag to clean it. But wish the glasses came with the case. read more

My favorite pair of sunglasses broke so I needed to get something on really short notice as we had a late evening event that day which had us in the sun from 4pm on -- and I couldn't imagine attending it without glasses. The spares I had just were not cutting it. I found a pair quickly and with the help of two Gentleman working, I was in and out in 15 minutes. The following day, I received an email with a $50 discount at Sunglasss Hut. I have been a fan of Ray Ban's for a long time. Recently purchased RB 4162's at this location. Next day, noticed a HUGE scratch on one of the lenses. I hadn't drop them or abused them in any way. I just noticed another scratch on them today, a week later. I took them to my optometrist who said the lenses are plastic and super cheap. Sunglass Hut won't take them back. I could understand if they were abused but I really didn't do anything to them. I believe the lenses are of such a poor quality that they are easy to damage. The lack of understanding from this Sunglass Hut location is one of the primary reasons brick and mortar retail is dying. I will be very reluctant to buy anything from brick and mortar when I can easily go to Amazon and return things with zero hassle factor. Think twice when buying from a physical store! read more

Very personable and friendly staff members that are easy to get along with. Although they don't carry every brand of sunglasses, they have most of the major ones and there's a wide selection to choose from. The sunglasses are generally kept very clean by the employees that are constantly cleaning them after people try them on. I had come in here before to order some sunglasses, had no problem with the two gentlemen who helped me out. I needed to return them the next day so I called to ask if I needed to wait for the sunglasses, I didn't even know if they were ever sent out as I was never given shipping details. I go into the store since they didn't pick up the phone, and Beth told me that I did need the sunglasses to return them. She told me I did, I left then came back to get her name and to inform her that I had called and never received an answer. She told me that when they are busy they will not pick up the phone. I had called three times in different time frames, and when I went into the store there was a duet of two women shopping together. I started to loosen up as I knew she was going to help me find the perfect pair. She had fun with it and we tried on several different styles and brands all different price ranges. From the moment I walked into the store and being greeted by Shane, my experience was superb! I've been a store owner of ladies boutiques in both Aspen, CO and Newport Beach, CA for over 20 years and I know how important good customer service can be to your business. It truly can make or break your business, it's the ONLY thing that sets you apart from the others in such a competitive market. I came to one of the Sunglass Hut locations last weekend. This was the location near Nike. I told the sales associate what I was looking for. She was nice enough at the time. She helped me pick out some Maui Jim frames that would fit my needs. She repeatedly told me that if they didn't fit my needs, I had 90 days to return or exchange. The frames I purchased were about $300 after tax. Took the glasses home and after trying them out a little further, they just weren't working for me. Everyone's eyes are different. My eyes are sensitive to light. These glasses had a fairly distinct gradient to them. If I moved my head a few millimeters up or down, I'd be looking at the world through two different colors. To me, it was very apparent. One of the colors of the gradient was just harsh on my eyes. So I packed the glasses up and waited for the weekend, when I had time, to return/exchange the glasses. I get there and a sales associate asks how she can help me. Told her I wanted to either exchange or return the glasses I had. She pulls the glasses out and asks me what was wrong with them. I explain what I just told you folks. She seems very defensive. At this point, the lady that originally sold me the sunglasses walks out from the back. The lady currently holding the sunglasses sees her and asks me if she is the one that sold me the glasses. I said yes, she then passes me on to the original sales associate. There was an attempt to explain to the sales associate what the issue was. I heard her say she understood but there was no "okay, let me help you find something that works". Both of these ladies are just coming across as incredibly defensive. I'm standing there failing to understand why. I'm a little surprised. I've only had the glasses a week and you said I could return if they didn't fit my needs. I was starting to get annoyed with their behavior. I looked at my husband and asked him if it was just me picking up the attitude. He confirmed that he also saw it. Instead of salvaging a sale. They only succeeded in driving me away. I asked for a refund. During the refund, this lady asked if I had the credit card I purchased the sunglasses with. I did. Because she asked I thought I was going to need the card. So I pulled my card out. I found it interesting that at no point during the refund did I need to use the card. So why ask if I have it with me? I really did need sunglasses. I ended up going to the Sunglass Hut by the Oakley and Kate Spade. I've been to Sunglass Hut at other locations. Never a terrible experience which is why I was willing to try a different location. I got treated better at this location from the get go. They had a decent variety of sunglasses and I was able to find what I needed without much fuss. While my second experience was better than the first, the first experience never should have happened. Had I not been in a pinch, I would have gone somewhere else completely. read more

Here is a general disclaimer for everyone: Don't shop at Sunglass Hut in general because they are incredibly retail priced (their insane price mark-ups should be illegal), only shop here if you are looking for a lense cloth/spray because you can get a kit that includes lifetime free refills for $10. That is honestly the only thing they sell for the right price. I'll get into details below. This location is particularly bad. I went here to return a pair of Persol sunglasses I purchased in Fashion Valley because this location (and all others in SD area besides Fashion Valley for that matter) don't carry Persol brand. Why was I returning them you might ask? They are great sunglasses, no doubt about it. But after I purchased them from sunglass hut for $388 including tax, I went online and did some research. I found out that they are literally about half the price online from trusted stores that ship from New York. After observing a lot of information and weighing my options, I decided to return the glasses at sunglass hut and then purchase them from a New York shop for $220 including tax and expended shipping. That's a $168 difference and the newly purchased glasses from New York came with the actual correct box and case for the model I purchased, where as with Sunglass Hut they didn't give me the box and they gave me the wrong case, the case didn't comfortably fit the model I purchased and was clearly for another model. If you buy any pair of glasses at Sunglass Hut they don't even know which case goes with those glasses, often times they grab the wrong one. I walked into this Sunglass Hut location on a very busy Sunday afternoon to return the Persols. There were probably 20 people in the store including someone putting $150 Ray-Ban sunglasses on a baby and another baby crying. There were a few people in line. I was clearly in the right place: Retail hell. I tell the cashier (frankly a naive and young women) I'm here to make a return and she doesn't complain or try and get me to change my mind which is great, but then she asked me why I was returning. I said, they are clearly great sunglasses, but they are literally half the price online from trusted sellers in New York. Then the manager who overheard this very rudely and judgingly said, "They're knockoffs!" as she was shaking her head. Excuse me, bitch, they are the same damn sunglasses for half the price and they even have the right case. Sunglass Hut is just too conceited of a company to realise that they are the ones ripping people off, that you can buy the same glasses elsewhere with the same warranty and authenticity for half the price. By the way, I fully compared the sunglasses I purchased from New York alongside Ebay's Persol authenticity guide and every detail is right on the money; they are real. I received $388 in cash because that is how I paid and they didn't have $100 bills in the register despite how busy they were, just $20s, $5s, and $1s which sucked. In conclusion, don't be fooled by Sunglass Hut. Go there to see if you like the glasses you think you want (try them on, but don't buy them) and if you like them, buy them online. I ended up buying my sunglasses from FrameSpot in New York, I recommend you take a look at them before going to Sunglass Hut. read more
