The man working was very kind and fixed my grandmas glasses for free! What a kind man! I will 100% be going back. Very clean and nice place.

I went to see Melody Tavakoli, O.D for a second opinion after struggling with expensive progressive glasses that just weren't working for me. Dr. T really listened, took the time to understand my lifestyle and vision needs, and used her deep technical knowledge to fit me with multifocal contact lenses that not only have me seeing better than I have in a year, but also properly addressed my dry eye. Her expertise and use of advanced diagnostic tools made me feel completely confident in her recommendations and treatment plan. You can tell she stays up-to-date with the latest in eye care and genuinely cares about providing the best possible outcomes for her patients. Side note~ I had recently been told by two different optometrists that I was not a candidate for contact lenses. This is not to speak poorly of them, rather to elevate Dr. T. She is a peer educator and teaches other optometrist about the latest advancements in contact lens technologies, including how to identify and treat appropriate patients. All that to say, if you have the opportunity to be seen by her, you are in very good hands. Erika is the optician at Be Seen and is equally as knowledgeable and talented -- she fitted me for the coolest pair of sunglasses I've ever owned. Their selection of regular frames is amazing, also -- they're more like stylish accessories than the glasses of yesteryear. The whole experience felt like true concierge-level care, blending top-notch technical skill with a warm, personalized approach. I'm so grateful to have found a team that combines professionalism, accuracy, and genuine care. read more

I took a prescription here to get filled, I'm not the least bit impressed. The glasses were OK, extremely expensive and actually very heavy once the lenses were put in. I ended up throwing them away after six months. Not to mention it took three weeks for me to get my glasses. The ophthalmologist is basically an on-call Doctor Who just shows up whenever someone makes an appointment. It's just basically a makeshift eyeglass store read more

OK, so this review is basically saying that Dr. T is amazing and I love her and she has helped me more than I think she even understands because she was able to fit me into contacts that I didn't know I needed. And if you want to skip to the end of this review, it says go see her now. Don't just accept that you can't see as well as you did before. AND......:) Everyone says they're a visual person, but I'm going to tell you that I've just discovered in the last week and a half, I'm an extra super Duper ultra visual person!! After seeing Dr. T, I found myself going out more into the world. I started organizing my house more. I basically didn't realize that I was slowly not wanting to go places because I couldn't see as well as I did before. I done to get my eyes checked and nothing was really working. The gist is that I've been wearing contacts that just didn't fit and it turns out it was the contacts that we're making my eyes dry not my eyes not producing enough tears Also I have a sigmatism so that throws a curveball into everything as well. . So ...I couldn't really see that well anywhere from 5 feet in front of me to the top of Mount Solidad. It was all just kind of a lil bit fuzzy. I've even gone to a more powerful prescription and it didn't help. I even checked to see if I was burdened with some rare psychological condition.... Alas ...It was mostly just the brand of my contacts. After seeing Dr.T I was given access to some contacts that were probably invented by aliens and sent to us from the future .... These lenses were not the market yet. Fortunately, because she is an educator/superstar/OG visual sensei, Dr. T was given some trial pairs and was able to let me try them. . In this case it's Johnson and Johnson for Acuview multi focus for astigmatism. I'm a changed woman I can now see everything (including wrinkles and small text)!. I also find myself to be a lot happier and able to weld and work on things that I kind of lost interest because I couldn't really see very well. I can drive at night and see every single street sign. I can look at my phone and actually see what's on it. Yes, I do use reading glasses when I'm working on electronics, and other fine detailed type things but I can see everything else for the first time in many years. Because I can see everything around me I'm much much happier and more social person. I didn't realize how much I was procrastinating on the work I do for a living. I'm a sculptor. I love making things and I love it even more now that I don't have to go through the extra extra mental gymnastics because I can't see. Thank you, thank you thank you Dr. T. read more

simply the best selection as well as customer service! I strongly recommend this company

Dr. Camen is the absolute best! She is thorough, kind, and really takes the time to explain what's going on with your eyes. I would highly recommend you book your next eye exam with her. The office is beautiful, the staff is super friendly and Dr. Camen will partner with you to create the best plan for your eye health. David assisted me in selecting some modern chic frames. He is a hoot! You will have so much fun shopping with him. My glasses came in exactly when promised. Overall a great experience and I'm highly satisfied. read more

Be Seen has the best selection of fun, funky, and classic eyewear for every face shape. They are so friendly, helpful, and even dog-friendly! They have a large mirror so you can actually see what you look like in the glassOne of the gems of bird rock. Update: still a shop. Just wanted to add that after Such a stellar experience with David (he helped us with glasses we didn't even purchase there; new lenses and adjustments), I felt confident booking an eye exam with Dr. Camen. It was the most comprehensive exam in a laid-back atmosphere that I've had. Bravo, Dr. Camen! & who doesn't love an adorable puppy to make you smile while at an exam?! The lenses that were replaced here are better than the ones that came with the original frames. I'll be back to seek David's help in fitting me with my new reading glasses for this old lady. read more

Omg the best spectacles in town by far. Looked at every place in SD for hip glasses since I'm an east coaster. I don't like cheap frames or pretentious customer service . David was my eye specialist and he was spot on, he knew my face and we had a blast choosing my next frames. I'm only use to finding one frame we had to illuminate from 18 pairs are you kidding me ! Life this place like wow. Good vibes more than you want choices , I will not be going to any other place . Since I wear my glasses all day everyday - I take my glasses business seriously! I already want a second pair . But I'm now a forever loyal client . Damn! Need a second job . But they are worth every dollar. No doubt you will not be disappoint . By far the best and most original selection in San Diego ! Original and quality ! read more

Be Seen Optics - I want them all so , that never happens - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - San Diego, California

So I have complicated vision.. one eye is sort of lazy and both have an astigmatism. I've always been told I'm not a candidate for any corrective measures, like lasik or vision training Not wanting it to get worse, I found Be Seen. This is the most HIGH TECH, professional cutting edge place (I got 3 other opinions before coming here). Their machines and methods are WAY beyond what a typical place does. Dr. Jesse (Dr. Camen) spelled out for me exactly what I could do, gave me the odds and a practical plan for some vision correction. I got sweet new glasses (they had SO MANY cute styles) with blue light blocking filter, UV filter, and the prescription that I can wear to strengthen my lazy eye without being dizzy. So glad I came here!! Your vision is everything, don't mess around with anything but true experts read more

Amazing glasses are THE BEST accessory. Obviously, they are providing a needed function, but the perfect pair can also make you stand out, express your style and make you feel great! I'd been trying to find a store that wasn't run-of-the-mill and Be Seen Optics is the exact opposite. Amazing frame selection that runs the gamut from conservative to insanely funky. I've now found two pairs there and obsessed with both!! Okay, okay, okay . . . they are an investment, which can be scary. But that's why (owner) David is so amazing! He was SO FUN to work with! He let me play in all the frames and take my time to land on the right pair(s). He's funny and patient and supportive! Gush!! I cannot recommend this place enough!! Just visit and you'll feel the same! read more

I have been treated like gold in this store. All they care about is me being happy with my choice of frames. All I can say is their frames are through the roof beautiful, they are unbelievably nice, and I could go on and on. I came home and my friends came over for happy hour, and there I am talking about them. So very, very nice and caring, and the best selection in this entire world. read more

Super nice. Easy online paperwork system. Found a last minute appointment opening for me on short order.

Dr. Jesse is LEGIT. I got my previous prescription from a great doctor and thought I saw pretty well. Wowee, I just got my new prescription and this has to be what it's like to see perfect. So, so amazing. Also, I might just pop in every once in a while to visit David. David is awesome as an owner and a person. Not pushy, and helped me pick out glasses that I thought were too cool for me. Love him! read more

Been excited for this store to open for some time now, and it was definitely worth the wait! As someone who appreciates the importance of stylish eyewear their selection is second to none. Winner winner and tons of chicken dinners! This place is the shizz, they are so lit with awesome frames! I love their selection and have made this place my go to location. As a professional, I want my glasses to tell something about my personality and look super cool with my suits. I use to hate wearing glasses cause they made me feel insecure, now after shopping here, I am super proud and confident in wearing my pair of glasses. I got my prescription glasses and sunglasses here last week and by god I feel so trendy. Also, the owner is so sweet, he hooked a brother up, like he was actually related to me. This guy knows what's he is doing and I am glad I don't have to go to those stupid basic glasses shops again. #winning read more

Today was my second appointment with Dr. Camen, and I can't say enough about the friendliness and professionalism of her and her staff. Both my husband and I had eye examinations and glasses prescriptions - both Dr. Camen and Dr. Mallari are talented and personable. Dr. Camen very carefully reviewed my husband's physical eye issues, and gave excellent advice as well as a good new prescription. I hadn't had a new prescription for years, and Dr. Mallari found that my glasses overcorrected. She worked hard to find the right prescription for me and I am thrilled with the results! read more

The place is truly mystical! I very happily stumbled upon it after a coffee run in Bird Rock. I had only just stepped in the door when David, the owner, magically replaced my tepid latte with a goblet of perfectly chilled Chardonnay. He had my undivided attention. And I his. Then I saw his true wizardry. Within moments the perfect frames were resting on my nose. And within a few days they had prescription lenses in them. What a great place! read more

Absolutely go visit David. On top of the fact that it's immediately easy to see he is a great human, he is extremely knowledgable and his experience and style make for a fantastic combination. Go here! read more

I lived in La Jolla for over 16 years - and only discovered Be Seen after I moved to Los Angeles. And now that I've "discovered" them - I won't be buying frames or getting my eyes examined anywhere else - even if that means driving down from West Hollywood. David and Megan are eyeglass whisperers! They seem to know almost intuitively which frame/style/color will make your face shine. And they are delightful, funny and kind which is a nice bonus when it comes to eyeglass whisperers. I've also had my eyes examined by the on-staff optometrist, Jesse Camen, who is equally wonderful. The moral to this story: If you live in Southern California (this is a big duh if you live in San Diego) and you wear glasses (if you don't, they are sooooo good - you might consider doing so) - Be Seen is the place to go. read more

Excellent friendly service. Great selection of frames and excellent optics. They make every effort to be sure everything is perfect. Finally an optical shop I can trust that really cares. Top recommendation. read more

i wandered into this store after purchasing a new pair of glasses from another place in La Jolla.....to be perfectly honest, i loved the dr at the other place but my glasses weren't that great after wearing them for a few weeks...i was on a mission to find the perfect frames. frames are my only real accessory. i can feel fierce or i can feel invisible based on my frames. with my existing frames, i felt invisible...so, i went in and met the owner, david...all i can say is he is EXACTLY the right person to help me with picking out frames. he went to the perfect frame right out of the bag...as other reviews have said, he is just so right on with his choices! i ended up buying not one but TWO frames with the knowledge that if i hate them or feel invisible in 30 days, he will help me find the right look and i can return the frames. what a brilliant way to run your business!! i doubt i'll return either frame but what a gem!!! david, peggy and jessie, the dr....the store is right in bird rock has a really unique and special collection of frames! YES!!!!! thanks, david and co! read more

I wish I could give this place more stars! They have an awesome selection of frames, especially the Mykita collection. The best part about my experience was the customer service I received from David. You can tell he really cares about helping you and not just making a buck. During the new year holiday, I was on vacation with my family in La Jolla area, and needed to get a new pair of glasses quickly. Luckily Be Seen Optics was open and nearby when almost everywhere else was closed. They were so friendly and professional with great hospitality. My eye has some complication, but Jesse, the OD, was very knowledgable and professional to get it right. Then, David, expertly recommended me a few different frames, and I really like the MYKITA frame he referred to me. Later on after new year, David mailed the whole package back to my home right on time. I'm very grateful and really appreciate the service there. Thank You. read more

These people know what they are doing! Recently purchased a pair of great looking, comfortable, well-fitting eyeglasses that I am so happy with. They are helpful in guiding patients through the process and offer excellent followup for any problems you might have (though I've had NO problems). I came here after a terrible experience at ANOTHER LJ optometrist who's staff offered no professional expertise in choosing eyeglasses and failed for two years to get a pair of glasses that wouldn't fall off my face despite numerous attempts to placate me by bending them. I am so glad I found Be Seen Optics and have gladly made the switch for my eye care to people who know are professional, knowledgable, helpful and courteous! read more
