I walked into the store for the first time to get a pair of Persol sunglasses adjusted. The owner (or manager?) Was quick to tell me that all adjustments cost 10$ but I didn't hear any disclaimers around their liability around breaking glasses during repairs(he was not speaking clearly, he talked quickly and did not pause to emphasize the policy so he may have said something about liability in fairness). He proceeded to heat the plastic frame up to then make adjustments. He repeated the process of heating and adjusting a few times until he finally applied too much pressure and snapped the frame. The first words out his mouth were: "oh I broke them. there will be no charge for you".... I was stumped. Followed by a cover your ass non apologetic "Its our policy to decline responsibility for repairs" and finally a sorry towards the end. Wow. Speechless. Leaving this Yelp review to warn others about how conflicts are resolved at this store. Mistakes happen, how they are handled is what sets some stores apart from others. read more

I was a business traveler visiting San Diego. I stayed at a local hotel near by and I accidently sat on my eyeglasses. I went in to ask if they can help put my lense back into the frame and without hesitation, Mr. Len Miramontes said "sure, no problem, it will just take a second". He came back in less than 5 minutes and my lense was cleaned and put back into the frame. I asked what I need to pay for such a quick service and he said "nothing". Just like us on social media and tell others about us. In today's world, when Amazon is dominating in every category of retail and when consumers are visiting boutique retailers less and less, and where so many merchants and stores forgot about how to take care of their customers and people because they are losing money and hire inexperienced sales people to manage their store front, i found Mr. Miramontes so rate and refreshing. I began noticing recently that glasses have really become hip and cool and mine were definitely not. So I opened up my local La Jolla Blue Book and found Eyestructure - I literally have worked a few blocks from this business for years and yet I never knew it was there! Anyways I went in just to peak at some options and get some info and I came out with a great looking pair of glasses. They were really knowledgeable and gave me great insight and did so without making me feel like they just wanted the sale. I loved my transition lenses. However, the lens became unclear after 6 months. I went in and Len asked me if I wore my glasses when I used a hair dryer or was I around a heat source. I was mystified that the coating was so delicate I shouldn't wear my glasses when drying my hair. I wasn't told when I purchased my glasses to be careful around a "heat source". I am very unhappy. If I had been told how sensitive the transition coating was, I might have decided not to get it. I will not return to this optical shop. read more

Huge fan of Eyestructure...Lenny spent nearly a half hour with my wife and I trying to correct an issue we had with glasses she obtained from Golden Triangle Optometry. We were referred to Lenny by one of my wife's coworkers, for whom we owe a great thanks. Lenny was able to make a correction to the lenses and my wife feels the glasses are now good to go. As IAN was preparing the work order to fix my sunglasses, he casually mentioned, " I have a great style of sunglasses, that would look great on you". I had NO intention, of purchasing new sunglasses. I just bought two pairs (one for my son and one for myself) of Salt optical eyeglasses at Eyestructure and I couldn't be more pleased. Keith did a fantastic job of pointing us in the right direction when it came to flattering styles and David made the rest of the process (we had to return with updated prescriptions) absolutely seamless. My glasses were promised mid-week, but were ready by the weekend. David took special care to make sure that the new glasses fit properly and also made sure that the prescription was correct. I highly recommend Eyestructure. The glasses are pricey, but the selection and service (at least in my mind) justify the price.
