1.5 years ago I bought a pair of Ray-Ban eyeglasses. I've been in with this company for many years even though it has changed names. I called last week five days ago to report that my Ray-Ban's hinge broke. They said they needed to speak with a manager because their warranty is only for a year, but Ray-Ban is for two I have not received a phone call back. I do not believe I will be returning to a business that cannot respond promptly nor uphold Ray-Ban's quality of service. read more

I usually don't write very many reviews, but with Eyeglass World I just had to! Today was my first eye exam at this place. I had gone to Invision Optometry to see Dr. Jason Tu. He was very good , but pricey. Also, I didn't always like how his technicians would push optional tests on you that you didn't need. They also didnt always tell you about the cost. You'd walk out of his office after about $300 without contacts or glasses. You could end up spending about $1500 for glasses or more depending on your prescription and if you add all the bells and whistles. At Eyeglass World you usually spend way less. Also, the customer service is outstanding. When I walked in I was greeted by Brian and directed to where I check in for my eye appointment, Tresten checked me in and he was very friendly. Within in 10 minutes I was called into the pre test room where he took a pictures of my eyes did eye measurements and the eye puffer test. He did ask if I wanted to do an extensive eye test for $15, but I declined. Not long after I was put in the exam room and Dr. Yarnell came about 3 minutes later. She was really good. She walks you step by step on your exam and the findings. After the exam I went to look at glasses. I had a friend with to help me look at glasses and see which ones looked the best. I was in between 4 pairs and than Monsay came to help us and she agreed on the glasses that were my number 1 choice. I spent after all the add-ons and insurance discounts $226.30. I'm just deciding if I want the 1 year protection plan for $25. I have 30 days to get it. Anyways great customer care/service. I will be back and have established a new optometrist. read more

Very few times do business do what Eyeglass world did for me. "Felt my Pain", Today I was informed by my optometrist (Kaiser Permenate) that I need Cataract Surgery and it would take around 3 months. My current eye prescription was not viable anymore and was given a new one. Obviously after the surgery the new eye prescription would not work. So I had to buy new lenses for 3 months. EYEGLASS WORLD on Midway Ave stepped up and gave me "Free" lens in my old frames. Again FREE. The actual value is not the significant point. They understood my dilemma and came up with a solution that was beyond gracious. I could afford the cost but they still gave me new single focal plastic lens. These will work great till my surgery and Eyeglass World has a new long term customer. Please consider them when looking for great service and understanding support. Pat read more

Can't recommend this location more. I recommend making an appointment before hand but they also take walk ins. The staff is incredibly attentive, friendly an informative. My glasses and contact exam was quick and only $99. They currently offer a buy one get one on frames, which is a price that's hard to beat. They also offer frames protection for only $25 for the whole year and that covers scratches, breaks, bends. This is my first time here and I had a GREAT experience! I had my exam with Dr Stephanie Yarnell and she was super super friendly. Tonya helped me choose my glasses. She was patient and really helped me find the glasses that I like. I ended up getting my first pair of prescription sunglasses and I LOVE them!!! They have the best deal!! Buy one get one free!! What a great experience. This was my first time getting glasses, and I think my first eye exam, albeit 20 years overdue. It got to the point where it was getting near dangerous driving, so I planned to go where I go for many things - Costco. I started by first doing some research, which brought me to this place. I called and spoke to Nora who gave me a thorough education about glasses, lenses, options, costs and the process. She invested a healthy amount of time with me, always patient, and very helpful. I conveniently made an appointment online for the very next morning. When I arrived the next day, I was first taken care of my Marissa. Just as kind and helpful, Marissa took me from arrival through the first steps of the exam. Paperwork was minimal. Next up was Dr. Yarnell who was very professional, and thorough. She gave great advice to help me chart a future course for my eyewear, as well as potential surgeries that may even avoid the need for it in the future. Darwin took over after the exam to help be select frames and go through lens choices. Upsells were soft, and I walked out spending far less than expected. A quick bowl of pho down the street, and my new glasses were ready for pickup. Not having previously gone through this process, I cannot compare this visit to other eyewear purchases and related exams. However, I can emphatically state that both from a retail customer service perspective, as well as a clinical experience this would have been tough to beat. From start to finish I probably dealt with 5 or 6 different staffers, all helpful and polite. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Yay got my new glasses back today! I am excited to where them out! The experience from start to finish was nothing less than wonderful here. Very friendly staff and quick service. They take many insurance plans just call ahead do make sure they accept yours. I bought from frames from another luxury frame retailer. But don't me wrong they have a huge selection of frames here. The best part is you can 2 frames for $78! What a steal! You don't need an appointment if you just want to drop off your frames to have them place lenses in. I stopped in around noon took about 15-20 mins to get everything setup and I got my frames back the next day at 5pm! They have same day options too but they were too busy to get mine back same day. But one day turn around is awesome! They do everything in house, which saves time and money. I brought in my new frames and my prescription. They looked up my insurance and I just ended with a small co-pay. They offer different lens options from affordable plastic to high quality. You can different sealers and protection too for extra. Just be aware if you bring in your own frames they cannot insure your frames if something goes wrong. They have a referral program if you refer someone over you can get a $25 amazon gift card! Woot woot! Not into glasses they gave a contact lens shop too. And you can get your vision testing done here! Overall I had a quick and easy experience. The staff was awesome here. I went to this establishment last week for an eye exam. Dr. Steven Satnick was super friendly and knowledgeable. He explained everything very concisely and I felt really comfortable overall. I ended up buying two glasses. The optician, Fabian, was really helpful too. He was very patient with me, and he explained very thoroughly the differences between the materials for the lenses and their advantages. He explained me what worked for me and what did not making the whole process very easy. I really recommend this place! Everyone was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They have great COVID precautions too. The place was not crowded, everyone was wearing masks and they had multiple antibacterials throughout the store. read more

Wow! I hate to be the person to write this review but my experience was that bad. I called prior to going in to get prices for blue blocking lens on my current frames. I informed the tech that I would be providing my own frames and she gave me prices. I thought the price was reasonable so i went into the store. When i got into the store another rep started to help me. During my whole time in the store he was friendly and nice. However, he completely lacked some basic customer service skills. On 4 separate occasions while conversing with me, he rudely picked up the phone (2x) and/or asked someone who walked in if they needed help (2x). Didnt say excuse me, or i am sorry please bear with me a moment. Instead he rudely just picked up the phone mid sentence while I was asking a question and/or stopped telling me the information when someone walked in and went to help them. The first woman who walked in even noticed the rudeness and apologized to me! I let it slide the first two times and said it wasn't that big of a deal, but when it happened two more times I had to get up and leave and say the service was terrible. This should've been a quick transaction but instead he was scatter brained and rude. He should have said can you please hold on a minute to me or the people who walked in the store but instead he just abruptly stopped helping me. Also, they charge you a $20 fee to bring in your own frames which was conveniently not mentioned on the phone. Super disappointed with the customer service. read more

They had to make my lenses 3 times. The first time the left lense had ripples. The second time the perimeter of the lenses were scratched so heavily, you can see it on the other side. The customer service rep swore up and down it was supposed to be that way. I had to come back again and talk to another customer rep who took it to the back and she said they would fix it. The third time I came to get my lenses they said it would take 20 minutes for them to cut them to the frames. It took 50 minutes. If I had known it would take that long I would have left and came back another time. I ordered my glasses before Christmas and this whole process took until mid February to get sorted out. This was a big headache and a hassle. I will not be coming back. read more

Wow, I went back for my yearly update, new doctor, new staff, no manager. The doctor is very distant. Nothing like that awesome one that left. It took them three times to get my glasses so so. This is my 3rd visit to Eyeglass World on Midway and I was once again very pleased with the service I received. I was greeted at the door and within minutes had my questions answered and was picking out frames for my new glasses. Darwin was very knowledgable and patient with my multitude of questions. Got an eye exam and a two sets of glasses here very recently. The staff was great! Dr. Steven Satnick was super friendly and made sure I was comfortable as possible during the whole process. He acknowledge my prescription didn't change much and he asked if I wished to stick with it or take the adjustment. Once that was settled, the purchase process was super simple. The associate we worked with, Fabian, was very patient with me trying out multiple eyeglass pairs. I had very good service during check in, and ordering my glasses. Afterwards, not so much. It took much longer for my glasses to come in than they told me, and trying to call them was frustrating. Great experience..Made a same day appointment for an eye exam and new glasses & frames. Very clean and they used appropriate COVID precautions. Dr. Yarnell was very pleasant and energetic despite it being near the end of a busy day...Anita was very patient and helpful picking out some frames..Gave me some good pointers and navigated through the insurance and answered my questions. The selection of frames isn't as great as Lens Crafters but I found what I was looking for...Using my insurance it was about $275 for an exam, Progressive lenses (with all the added bells and whistles) and designer frames..Not too bad I thought...I will be back for some prescription sunglasses soon.. read more

This place is TERRIBLE . I came to get an eye exam and ended up being there for close the 3 hours because one associate was having a very difficult time putting my information and order into the system . I was then told that my glasses would be ready for pick up at 530pm, and when i arrived at 540pm my glasses still were not ready! So i come back the next day to pick them up and the order was wrong! So your telling me i spent $510 on glasses and y'all can't have the decency to make sure what i ordered is correct? Lemon Grove is definitely a better location . 10/10 WOULD NOT RECCOMEND. read more

I went in for a appt, and the dr decided to relay until i was halfway thru my exams that i would have to come back to complete my contact lens training because an employee left early. She didnt think it would be worth her time to train me or have someone else do it because 1 employee left. I took time away from my business to come in and get my exams done and go on w my day. I get that things come up but as a dr, and head of that office, i would assume the right thing to do was accomodate the existing appts even if it means someone or her picking up where the employee that left pending tasks/duties. Several weeks ago the hinge on my frame broke. I previously bought the 1 year warranty from Eyeglass World and brought my glasses in. They had to order a new frame, but in less than a week, my glasses were once again usable. The technician was able to modify my old frame so that I could wear my glasses until the new frame arrived.
