Awesome experience! I bought a pair of ic! Berlin sunglasses in New York City, but it was going to take a couple weeks for them to fill my prescriptions. Of course the sunglasses have a special frame which excludes many many places that could fill the prescription. I wasn't gonna be there long enough to get my glasses back at the nyc lens place so I came home and searched around and found Alexander Daas. The moment I walked in the manager, there immediately knew what pair of glasses I was wearing, and completely understood the challenge for other places to try to create prescription lenses for these glasses. But not to worry, we know how to work with these sunglass frames. they proceeded to take all the measurements fill out the paperwork, I paid for the prescription, and was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before I got my sunglasses back. Up to this point the service has been exceptional, friendly, efficient, and most importantly knowledgeable. Fast forward two weeks and I went in to pick up my sunglasses. I tried them on and everything was spot on. Very happy with the end result. I highly recommend Alexander Daas. Even though it's a longer drive to get there from where I am it's worth it. I came in as a walk-in at the Del Mar store and was fascinated by the extensive collection of eyewear available. As it turns out, Stacy was of wonderful help and offered me the best advice for lightweight frames. I came in two weeks later to pick up my eyeglasses as well as sunglasses with added prescription and again, Stacy put a lot of attention to detail to the fit of the frames so that they wouldn't fall down my nose bridge until they fit perfectly. Great eyewear shop! This storefront on Del Mar's Main Street offers a great selection and wonderful service. I especially appreciate their selection of lightweight glasses sized for a small face. Both Stacey and Wylie offer friendly and knowledgeable service. When I wasn't happy with my last pair of frames after a few weeks, they happily exchanged them for another. Stacey took time to very carefully fit and adjust the frames, and I know I can stop in anytime if readjustments are needed. read more

My glasses were not going to be ready by the time I needed to take a trip and Alex had them shipped to my hotel across the country overnight! That's just how they roll. Alex and his staff make personalized appointments with you and treat you like the celebrities they serve. What's more, their selection is European stock or Alex's own designer line. I purchased my glasses at Alexander Daas recently. I wasn't quite sure what kind of frame or color to choose, what suited my face and what not. Alex was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me look through lots of different frames and colors and pick the perfect one for me. I have not worn glasses for four years and only wore contacts, now I feel very comfortable wearing my new accessory! :) My next purchase will be their sunglasses. I have a pretty small face and most glasses make me look like a bug. Alex actually specializes in frames for small faces and small PD. The store has a decent variety on glasses and sunglasses, it looks very cool and chic. You are also welcome to bring your dog in the store, they have doggy snacks!! This place has really great sunglasses. I am pretty particular when it comes to glasses but their optician made it easy. When I walked in he glanced at my face and pulled a few frames that fit really well. From there I picked the brown color version and was done..
