The visit was pleasant and I had all my questions answered. I really enjoyed my visit. When I paid my copay, I thought that it was rather high. I called my insurance (thinking that I should have checked to see if they were in-network, and they were). I called the office to question the discrepancy in the amount and was told that the charge was for the retina imaging. I was not informed of the additional cost. (I have not had to question additional costs at an optometry office before.) I was told that it gives the doctor a better view of the eye. I really liked the doctor and she answered all my questions. She was very thorough. I just wasn't informed of the additional service/cost.

We could give you a 20% discount towards a new frame" Shocking attitude for a small business towards someone who has been multi-year multi thousand dollar customer.

These lenses cost $600 and they will not replace Them They are a few months past the two-year warranty. I have another pair of sunglasses that I've had for five years that were manufactured by the previous lens manufacture and I have not had a problem. It's disappointing that the doctors that now are running the practice do not stand by their product. I have switched to Costco, which is about a third of the price. My suggestion is to take your prescription and get it filled elsewhere.

Of course the sunglasses have a special frame which excludes many many places that could fill the prescription. I wasn't gonna be there long enough to get my glasses back at the nyc lens place so I came home and searched around and found Alexander Daas. The moment I walked in the manager, there immediately knew what pair of glasses I was wearing, and completely understood the challenge for other places to try to create prescription lenses for these glasses. But not to worry, we know how to work with these sunglass frames. they proceeded to take all the measurements fill out the paperwork, I paid for the prescription, and was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 weeks before I got my sunglasses back. Up to this point the service has been exceptional, friendly, efficient, and most importantly knowledgeable. Fast forward two weeks and I went in to pick up my sunglasses. I tried them on and everything was spot on. Very happy with the end result. I highly recommend Alexander Daas. Even though it's a longer drive to get there from where I am it's worth it. The first thing I noticed right away was that I had been overcharged on sales tax, which the staff corrected when I pointed it out--but I really shouldn't have to double‑check something so basic. I purchased a pair of Vuarnet sunglasses here for $324 after the staff told me they were polarized. When I wore them in my husband's car with UV‑tinted windows, I noticed they didn't show the usual rainbow pattern that polarized lenses create. After double‑checking (including testing against another pair of polarized lenses), it became clear these were not polarized. I returned to the store to give them a chance to make it right. Here's what happened: * The staff admitted the sunglasses were not polarized. * They refused a refund because I was "past 7 days." * They offered to swap my Vuarnet glass lenses for plastic polarized lenses, or charge me another $50 for the correct Vuarnet lenses. * They asked to keep my sunglasses to show the owner, saying the owner would contact me. The next day, instead of the owner reaching out, a staff member contacted me with the "resolutions" the owner had decided on. Given the seriousness of selling me sunglasses under false pretenses--whether it was a mistake or not--I felt this was poor customer service. They had the opportunity to make things right twice, and chose not to. I left this process with no sunglasses and no refund, and the staff I dealt with were unapologetic and unhelpful. If you plan to shop here, I strongly recommend double‑checking everything they tell you about the products and watching your receipt carefully. Personally, I will not shop here again.

I stumbled across Dr. Hom over Yelp and put an inquiry though his website. I am so glad that I decided to go with Dr. Hom. I feel like I am in excellent care with him. I struggle with seasonal allergies and occasional dry eyes and he listens to every concern I have and tries to work out a solution with me. I started having very tender eyes out of no where and his staff was able to squeeze me in for an appointment. With his recommendations it cleared up within a few days. I would recommend Dr. Hom if you are in the market for a new optometrist in the Sorrento Valley area.
