Don't go here for optometry or spectacles. I did. My mistake! As I write this, I am using the spectacles that I recently bought from Haug Optometry using Dr. Haug's prescription. I said when I picked up my glasses that I did not like the correction for the right eye, but Dr. Haug was not there. The clerk who handed me my glasses asked which Dr. Haug had prescribed the lenses. I did not know there were two Dr. Haugs. She could not find my prescription in the records. She would not do anything to help me. So what are my complaints? The left lens is perfect. The right lens is a nothing but a blur. A blur at a distance, a blur trying to read, a blur using the computer. So the left lens rates 5 stars. The right lens rates no stars at all. Does that mean I should average the two lenses and give Haug Optometry 2.5 stars? I don't think so. The lenses keep falling out of the frame. First the left lens fell out -- the good lens! I managed to push it back into the frame yesterday. This morning while walking along, I tried to clean the smudges on the lenses. The right lens came out, so I put it in my shirt pocket. I tried getting along without the right lens, but that is not satisfactory either, as my right eye is my worse eye, so in any case I am now seeing mostly with my left eye. Altogether a very frustration situation. read more

This in response to the 1 star review by Leo D. on 5-8-15, somehow Yelp wouldn't allow me to comment on their review. Here it goes: I know this is an old review but I would like to add a comment. I worked as a certified Optician for the Haugs for 10 years but left after I had my 1st child in 2011. The technician you speak of no longer works there and I'm sorry you had that experience. This is an isolated experience and is not the norm. I wish the Dr's would have known of this situation bc they never would have let you get stuck with a pair of glasses that did not work for you! I personally have had glasses remade for patients as many times as required until it was right. (Sometimes a prescription is very complicated, a patient is very sensitive to change in lens design, material or Rx, etc), regardless if we had to eat the cost. We would even have the Dr reexamine the prescription if need be. The lens designs we had were always cutting edge. I suspect the lens design that you were fitted with was just not a good fit for you, (there are so many designs and different ones work better for different prescriptions and frame types, etc). She certainly should have worked with you and had the issue resolved. That was not the quality service that patients are used to in this practice. And again that technician is no longer employed there... I hope this gives some clarification to those looking for a Optometry practice. The Haugs have the highest integrity and provide great quality service. To this day I refer my closest friends and family to them and have great feedback of their care there! read more

This is the place to go! Everyone is friendly, top-notch and there to help you stay within your finances and solve your eyecare needs. Liz was funny and helpful during the first part of exams and with choosing the ideal (and best-looking) frames for my face. And Dr Haug really was informative and thorough with the other eye exam and explaining the complexity of my eyes and what I'd need. He was genuine and understanding - unlike other chain places where you sorta feel like a number or feel rushed. I had an exam more than 2 years ago at LensCrafters and had to go back twice after I got my glasses because the measurements were off. Meanwhile, at this place, once my glasses were ready for pickup all was good and I've been wearing them since. So I feel like the quality of the product, the personal service and the price all exceeded my expectation. If you are needing an eye doctor/ glasses - I'd recommend to all my friends and family. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Haug (introduced himself as Michael, which is always more comfortable) and his amazing staff today. The office is extremely clean and neat. I worked with Carly at the front desk. She was very professional and efficent. She walked me though the process, reviewed my coverage and got me ready for my visit with Michael (Dr Haug). I waited less than a minute before Dr Haug came in and completed my thorough exam. He also took the time to explain everything to me and answer every single question I had. I then met with Carly again to select frames. She was so honest about what fit my face and stayed within my budget. My only gripe, but still worth giving them all 5 stars is I wish they had a larger selection of frames to choose from. This is a great example of how a business should run. Dr's Mike and Deb Haug are awesome. Their shop is only a minute east from I-5 on Santa Fe, and they and their staff are extremely helpful. It had been a few years since I updated my prescription, and they walked me through the process quickly, easily and then helped me choose a beautiful new pair of glasses. On top of that they worked seemlessly with my insurance so that I got a fantastic deal. This is my new "Go To" place for sure. If you need glasses this is you place!! read more

I went in for an eye exam with Dr. Haug I did not have any problem with him, he showed that my prescription had changed. I purchased new designer glasses from the front technician then they sent them out for lenses when they came back I could not wear them for a minute,( Headache,blured vision) , when I complained about the problem I was told by the young lady I needed to take time to get used to them but I tried and could not get use to them, she refused to correct them and I just held on to my new $500.00 pair of glasses. A few months later I decided to try another Optometrist to fix the problem. They found that the lenses they used were inferior products and recommended digital lenses. I just got them back and they work perfect. I just got ripped off by this office and found they are unprofessional and incompetent!!! I am very busy and do not have time for this sort of nonsense!! read more

I have been going to Dr. Deborah Haug for 10-15 years. I now drive 10 miles for my exams, and its worth it. Dr. Haug is very thorough, gives clear explanations of test and exam results, and helps resolve eye discomfort issues. The staff is friendly and very helpful in finding the right frames and lenses to meets one's budget and needs. If you want to shop around for the right frames they don't hard sell you. If the lab screws anything up, they are on it right away to get things right. They stand by their lense warranties. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Haug for excellent service.
