Every item we ordered was spectacular!! I was just expecting good food, but I really was blown away with the quality and how delicious every bite was!! Asian oysters with extra side of ponzu was amazing, best lobster I've ever had, crab cocktail was delicious, vegetarian polenta came with an extremely fresh salad that tasted fresh from a garden... and the sweet and spicy strawberry martini... it was all heaven!! Recommend making reservations in advance on a Friday evening since we had to wait a while for a table. Can't wait to return! read more

(such a wide bowl needs to be preheated to compensate for the surface area and cold bowl temp. Made a reservation the day before and arrived on time. Waited 5 mins before anyone even noticed we were standing behind this weird huge flag they have at the entry. I walked around the flag so I'd be seen. Two waitstaff saw me and went about their way, not paying any attention. Finally, a host showed up and turns out our reservation wasn't even on her clipboard. She was able to fit us in, in a back table next to the restrooms. Also adjacent to a full table with Rep. Jared Huffman! Ha! Kind of cool. We ordered drinks. One of our party could not drink but wanted a martini glass to join in the fun. We were told they didn't have enough glasses. Are you kidding me!? When you're paying $40 an entree and $12 a drink, for a table covered in craft paper next to the restrooms, and they can't even provide a nice glass for lemon water? Buy a few more $1 martini glasses! Geez! We ordered a bunch of appetizers: polenta, seared ahi, clams, mushrooms, calamari. The polenta was melt in your mouth delicious. And seared ahi was really good. The clam chowder was extremely rich but there was no flavor of clam. Could have been a cream of whatever soup and no one would have known. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. Except it was charred on the outside. So the charcoal flavor was overpowering and kind of ruined the beautiful steak. So kind of a bummer. I wanted Daisy's Sweet Heat cocktail but they were out of the vodka, so I ordered The Dreamer and it was light and delicious. My second cocktail was Mediterranean Martini and it was strong and delicious. I also go to try the Smoky Gentleman and it was really good! Overall, it was a fun night out. Pricey but they do seafood right, and portions are large. And let's face it, there are a lot of places that do seafood wrong, so Sea Grill gets 5 stars, not to mention service is spot on. I've eaten here twice and both times have been surprised at how they know how to prepare seafood; I say surprised because I've been accustomed to being disappointed by the overcooked or off-tasting at too many places. First time there the waitress mentioned fresh wild salmon from Oregon with zero enthusiasm (maybe that's just their style) but my jaw drops and I have to order it. It was divine, some of the best salmon I've ever had, and a generous portion. Second time it was fresh dungeness crab cocktail; scrumptious crab cakes; ling cod, the filet perched on some amazingly delicious and cheesy polenta. Sides are decent (twice baked potato a standout), veggies are nothing to write home about. But you're not here for veggies. Bread is good but butter was a little weird as it seemed to fall to pieces rather than spread smoothly. read more

Our second visit to the Sea Grill, a year later. Still VERY good. Pleasant ambiance, good service, as before. Luis took good care of us. I had crab cakes - an item from the special list. My mom was from Maryland, so I was raised to think of crab cakes as a major food group. These were top notch. Lots of crab, not a lot of filler, just spicy enough, a good sauce. Good vegies and salad. My date had the scampi and started with chowder. Some folks have complained of the chowder not coming hot enough and that has clearly been fixed. Came nice and hot and a fine chowder. Potatoes - fries and stuffed baked - were adequate - the only thing not really stellar. Creme brulee and chocolate mousse were excellent. I had the house white wine (chenin blanc) and was pleasantly surprised on that one - not a wine I know well and better than the typical chardonnay that is the usual house white. Went for my birthday celebration and everyone was so happy! I ordered the prime rib and shrimp scampi combo with baked potato, cooked medium. It was perfect! Just finished another excellent experience at the SEA GRILL. I had last dined there as the Pandemic was upon us so I waited to dine in again until I felt it was safe. Well worth the wait. The staff was excellent and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The owner (Holly) was actively working the dining room to ensure a great experience. The food, as usual, was superb. My server (Laura) was impeccable. What really blew me away was the busser Brigitte. That woman was incredible. Apparently the other busser wasn't there and she was handling all the rooms by herself. She was moving with Energizer Bunny energy but wasn't showing the least bit of stress; in fact, she took the time to make contact with all the tables in a smooth, personable manner. A great smile and a great asset to the business. Whatever she is being paid, it isn't enough. Can't wait to return. read more

My wife really liked the chowder. The prime rib looked very good, and we would have considered if we were in a beef mood. My wife enjoyed the scallops. I had the Halibut, which was very good. We weren't able to get through on the phone to make a reservation but we took a chance and drove to the restaurant anyway. It was very busy but they were able to accommodate us. It is a beautiful room the tables are set with fine linens, silver and china. I liked the light fixtures and the lighting was subdued but it was not so dim that there was a problem reading the menus. The tables are nicely spaced apart so it is easy to have a conversation with your table companions. The entrees come with soup or salad. My husband opted for the salad as he does not like clam chowder. He tasted my chowder however and he said it was very good. For entrees I had the special of the day - petrale sole stuffed with Dungeness crab and shrimp meat. It was delicious. My husband had shrimp scampi. I had shrimp scampi at a restaurant the previous evening and my husband's scampi was far superior. The portions are very generous. For dessert we shared the key lime pie. Prices are fair for the quality and generous portions served. Katie was our server and she took very good care of us. The rest of staff was excellent- polite, friendly, quick, helpful. We ordered fish and chips and snapper almandine, both delicious entrees that came with a soup or salad, bread, and vegetables. Fish was fresh and not overcooked. In terms of safety, every effort is taken to make the environment COVID-safe without compromising on the dining experience. Everything on the table is exchanged between patrons down to the salt, pepper, candle, and tablecloth, and patrons are asked to keep masks on when not eating. Tables are well spaced. read more

Some colleagues and I recently went here and Sea Grill fails to disappoint. We have come here multiple times over the years and it is always good. Our party tried a wide range of food like the linguini, raw oysters, clams, and calamari. Everything was tasty and the drinks were also great. There are two things stopping me from marking as a 5 star: the price is pretty high for what you get, and there were several items out of stock when we went on a Wednesday. Very clean with a pleasant atmosphere. They had a great 'date night' music vibe through the entire experience. Waitress did a wonderful job of pacing the arrival of appetizers, soups, multiple drinks, and mains so that there was never a backlog or flood of dishes. One of the dishes that came out was the wrong one, and our waitress was kind and quickly got the situation addressed. We got so caught up in the meal and conversation that we hadn't realized we had stayed nearly ~20 minutes after the restaurant had closed. We were looking for a place to eat dinner after a long day of driving to Eureka from the bay area. We wanted to try out some seafood - a quick search found this place. We dropped by without a reservation and luckily, we were seated immediately (possibly because it was a weekday). Based on the crowd I saw that day; I would recommend calling once in advance specially on weekends. The food was really good. We tried the clam chowder, fried calamari, scallops and the halibut and every single item was really cooked very well and tasted really good. The service was also very good. At the end of the meal, we left very satisfied. Definitely recommend it. Would love to come back and visit again. read more

The parking can be challenging as you park on the street or happen to find a spot in the parking lot. Regardless of parking the food that comes from this kitchen is SOOO GOOD! last night we dined in for my husbands birthday and we were not disappointed. The service was very good, Thank you ladies (Server Katie) (Host Ava and Bussers Nichole and Hebbie) for serving us so well. The Kitchen put out some Fire Meals! This is when it is fun to write a review of one of our dinning experince. Our desk clerk at our lodging took a chance and didn't recommend a chain resturant. The way her eyes lite up and when she said," If I was on vacation and wanted seafood I would go to the The Sea Grill". I knew we were on to something. We were greated warmly as we entered and our table was safely spaced away from other tables.( covid safety measures are still a constant companion). I started off with a1/2 dozen gems from the sea. It has been too long and were so cool and tasty. My entree was Petrale Sole. When Sole is prepared correctly it is light and flaky. Bingo the Chef nailed. Grilled to perfection with a liberal covering of Dore sauce. My wife went with one of the daily specials, Halibut Cakes and was equally happy with her entree choice. I can't say enough about our waitress,Katie. She guided us towards our choices and provided timely service without hovering.
