New lively restaurant that offers delicious traditional Mexican food as well as Cajun Seafood Boil! Full bar with beer on tap as well as bottles and a wine selection. Ample seating and attentive staff. Plenty of parking available. This will definitely become a regular stop for me.

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

Cafe Marina And Woodley's Bar - The Captain's plate, fried seafood, left a lot to be desired. The oysters are real low-grade.

Service was wonderful, quick and attentive, the inside has been updated yet still has small town ambiance, food and cocktails were DELISH- but the number one reason to come is the VIEW! The restaurant is on the bay surrounded by working fishing vessels catching fresh dungenous crab, and local fish. The Humboldt State Marine Biology research vessel also calls these docks home. Wear layers and sit outside- you'll be thankful you did.

I ordered Petrale sole as an entree and found the fish to be overcooked and having the texture of rubber. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry and uninspired. The green garlic beans were ok. The 'blue cheese' salad dressing was bland and tasteless - no blue cheese to be found. My wife ordered the fish and chips. While the portion was large, the breading on the fish was dark brown indicating it had been overcooked. The fish was moist but the breading made for unpleasant eating. I was surprised the Petrale was so poorly executed. In my experience a light touch is needed to make this dish and this was wide of the mark. The service was excellent and the location and ambience are appealing. It's too bad the food didn't meet our expectations and we hope the owners will be more attentive to the execution of the dishes they serve. .

Portions are huge (even if you do the split plate option) and we overheard other customers getting desserts wrapped to go. Large and well-curated wine list, and some beers but no cocktails. The remote location means your cell phone will have zero bars as well, so enjoy the romantic ambiance with your company. I suspect it was the loud gentleman seated at the table behind us, but I digress. Once the server came over, we were off to the races. We started with the carpaccio, roasted garlic, and portobello appetizers. Delicious! I would highly recommend each one. The board that is served complimentary was delicious as well. I enjoyed a glass of the Inkblot Cab Franc with my NY Sirloin fully dressed. I love a good steak, and this one was right up there! We didn't have room for dessert but ordered the signature dessert to go. Sadly, I never tried the dessert before I left for my flight the next morning, but I'm sure my brother and his wife enjoyed it. It just gives me a good excuse to go back.
