    Chips and salsa
    Paige H.

Chips and salsa - Fantastic. Crunchy taco - good. Packed full of meat. Barria Ramen - Amazing. Service - Great. We came here because our other go-to Mexican restaurant was closed, and I'm so glad we did. Great food and great service.

Ambiance was ok. Server was very prompt, friendly and helpful with suggestions. When one guest had a special request, it was accommodated. The food, a chile relleno, chicken enchiladas smothered in a nice thick mole sauce topped with queso fresco, cilantro, and onions, and a cheese enchilada. Each dish came with very generous servings of rice and beans. Each dish was excellent. We would have them again. Price, we had three lunch plates, and a take home bag of chips, the cost was $41 before tip. I consider this excellent value. We will be back.

The service was excellent. We got busted à la mexicana and it was very good lots of flavor. Also we got enchiladas mineras and they were ok it had too much shredded chicken to my liking. The ramen birria was blend it needed more flavor on the consome but with limon and spicy salsa made it better. Over all it was a decent meal for the price and very good service.

I really wanted to love this place. The lady was nice, looked good inside, but I'm disappointed. I paid $17.28 for a bowl of menudo, and while the broth tasted good and it came with all the usual stuff (lime, cilantro, onions, tortilla, and salsa), the main reason you order menudo was almost nonexistent. I didn't realize how little tripe there was until I got all the way home and started digging through the bowl. Most of it was small pieces, with only about three larger pieces in the entire serving. For nearly $18, that's just not acceptable. I was still hungry after finishing it and actually had to add my own chicken at home just to make it a complete meal. I wish I would have checked before driving off..:(

Chicken enchiladas- one red, one green
    Diane N.

Everything was delicious! We each had the chicken enchiladas, one red and one with green sauce and they were excellent. We also had one enchilada and will definitely order again. Our only minor complaint was that the food could have been hotter. It Just needed a few more minutes of heating. The server was attentive and checked up on us regularly. The ambiance was cute and the music was great and not too loud. They have their own parking lot which is needed on Harris. Btw the salsa and chips are homemade and really delicious! In a town with too many Mexican options we think we have a new favorite place!

    Molcajete

As soon as we walked in we knew we had picked the right spot to eat at. The decor was vibrant and authentic with lively colors and fun music. The service was also excellent and our server was very attentive, checking on us to see how our experience was going. We decided to get the molcajete and it was SO GOOD. Different meats like carne asada, chicken, shrimp, and spicy sausage. It also had nopales, charred green onions, and an unforgettable very spicy salsa. I'm still thinking about that salsa. The molcajete also came with rice and beans on the side. We left feeling super satisfied. Mexican approved!

Very nicely portioned mimosas! I say 4.8 stars! I just rounded it up to 5. Excelente customer service! The place is clean and beautifully decorated. I got a burrito and it was good. I needed a spicier salsa and they brought this little jug of green salsa and it was soo good!! I love spicy

The Food and the service and the ambience was really good. We'll be going back soon. I had a tamale with green chili and a crêpe with cheese. They were so good.

    Taco salad with shredded beef
    Barbara R.

We have visited Casa Garcia twice in a month. Service is fast and friendly. Food is freshly prepared. My husband thought the chile rellano had too much cheese - I don't understand those words. What is too much cheese? On the second visit he had spinach enchiladas which were more to his liking. I had a taco salad with shredded beef and on the first visit, a burrito with carne asada. Prices are quite reasonable. If I had one ask, it would be for hotter table salsa, but other than that, it's a nice neighborhood place.

Our server was very pleasant and let us know the special of the day, a halibut dish with a creamy pepper sauce. Debating between that and another dish, we asked her recommendation and she suggested the fish. So we did it. My wife and I traditionally split meals at restaurants, because they generally give you so much food, you leave uncomfortably stuffed. We prefer leaving comfortably satisfied. So we split the Arugula Salad. They bring complementary bread with a garlic butter or basalmic and olive oil. We preferred the basalmic. The garlic butter wasn't very garlicky. But the salad was excellent. They split it for us for a small upcharge. The Halibut was excellent. We had to split it ourselves, but that was not a problem for us. It was served over couscous and was excellent. A bit small to split, so we added a cheesecake dessert with ganache. Very good. We paired it all with a Cabernet from the Oakville area of Napa (where we had just visited) and it was excellent as well. Our server was attentive. The pacing of our meal was very well done. Not too long between check-ins, but also not rushed. We recommend!

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

Even though they didn't have cioppino, it was the perfect choice. Sitting out on the patio with the breeze and the sun and the bay with pelicans and gulls flying and flowers all around was great in itself. The food and warm service people made it incredible. We had the best clam chowder I have ever had - thick, creamy, sweet with clams, and amazingly not heavy at all, just perfect. The hot crab sandwich was a special, so that made up our minds on one thing; and it was excellent. The onion rings were highly recommended by the waitress and the guy at the next table who had just gotten a serving. The breading was perfect and nicely seasoned, and the inch-tall rings of sweet white onion - wow. Giant, delicious onion rings. My son was attracted to the blackened sole but I persuaded him that we needed the clam cutlets because - cutlets of razor clam, seriously? And they were cutlets, a thing we had never seen, nicely breaded and delicious. We like clams. The fries were okay, just fries. The tartar sauce was light and an excellent tangy counterpoint, and the cocktail sauce was truly amazing. We were impressed. Both plates came with a small slice of tasty watermelon, too. We left very full and well-satisfied but not feeling weighted down. If you are ever in the area before 3pm on the days they are open - do not miss Gill's on the bluff By the Bay.

I ordered Petrale sole as an entree and found the fish to be overcooked and having the texture of rubber. The garlic mashed potatoes were dry and uninspired. The green garlic beans were ok. While the portion was large, the breading on the fish was dark brown indicating it had been overcooked. The fish was moist but the breading made for unpleasant eating. I was surprised the Petrale was so poorly executed. In my experience a light touch is needed to make this dish and this was wide of the mark. The service was excellent and the location and ambience are appealing. Located in the quaint coastal town of Trinidad, the restaurant is in a beautiful spot with ocean views just a two-minute walk away. The ambiance inside is cozy and welcoming, the staff are friendly, and we were seated after only a short 5-minute wait. The food was absolutely top-notch, and everything came out fresh and flavorful: * Chicken Burger: This came on a ciabatta bread along with coleslaw and the most amazing aioli sauce. It was incredibly juicy, warm, and flavorful. * Clam Chowder & Local Beet Salad: Both of these dishes were outstanding. The clam chowder was rich and comforting. The Local Beet Salad features organic seasonal greens, organic beets, local goat cheese, sunflower seeds, a balsamic reduction, and a citrus vinaigrette--it was top-notch and incredibly fresh. * Kids' Chicken Nuggets: My son got this from the kids' menu, which comes with a side of ranch and a generous portion of crispy fries that he really enjoyed. * Cajun Alfredo Pasta: My daughter ordered the rice pasta version of this dish, which features a creamy Cajun spiced sauce and garden herbs, making it a wonderful, flavorful gluten-free pasta option. * Blackberry Cobbler & Chocolate Ice Cream: For dessert, we shared the cobbler made with Marion blackberries and a sweet cinnamon crumble topping. It was served warm with vanilla bean ice cream melting on top and tasted absolutely amazing. My son also got the chocolate ice cream and he loved it. * Vanilla Latte: We also grabbed a vanilla latte, which was perfectly crafted, smooth, and delicious. Our server, Annie, was incredibly friendly and nice, making our family dinner feel even more special.
