Was excited to try this place because the options on the menu looked good. Place was pretty crowded but I was willing to be patient. But after being sat down we had waited for more than 10 minutes without even being acknowledged by the server. Seemingly the waitress wanted to make it known that we are being ignored because she had waited on someone who had just sat down directly in front of us. When we walked in we were asked about a reservation and we said no but I am unsure if they are prioritizing them over walk in. But it would've been something to say before seating us. I was surprised that this place is only four stars. I think they are a 4.5 or higher kind of place. This was my fourth time here and I have not been disappointed. Tonight I came alone, sat at the bar and got great service. I ordered a hazy IPA, the fish and chips and for dessert a Penicillin. Their signature fries are great! The food came out hot. The batter in the fish was a little on the greasy side but was still light and crispy. I don't know how to describe the sauce that comes with it but it's amazing. We walked in today after a two year hiatus expecting the food to be exactly the same as it used to be. Two our surprise, it was absolutely horrible. The mac & cheese is microwaved, the barbecue burger has shoestring onion rings, or the thin onion rings, and you could not even separate them, which was very odd when biting them. They were very hard, my wife ordered the fish tacos... They came out cold. Specifically asked to make sure that there's no greens inside of the street corn and they bring me a bowl full of greens in the street corn. All in all, definitely won't be going back over there unless they go back to their old ways making food fresh. The barbecue burger that I got, you can tell that they froze the meat and cooked it. It didn't even taste like a fresh burger. Management...can't be selling garbage like this to restaurant goers. Oh... I'm not sure what the vision was but honestly this was not it. I imagined the broccoli air fried and crispy. It was boiled or sautéed but I'm leaning towards boiled bc it lacked any flavor. I reserved my judgment on this combo. Then I took a bite and was pleasantly surprised. The goat cheese was had the look and feel of a creamy, thick yogurt. The jam was subtle in its sweetness, but offset the salt from the beef and bacon. The fries were plain, and good. Nothing more to be said. My table also got an appetizer before our entrees. We got this roasted artichoke appetizer. Great combination of flavors. Charred brussel sprouts with almonds and a sweet chili glaze. I'd come here again. Okay. First things first. Kenny is The Bomb. He is such a delightful person and we were fortunate to have him as our server. Best server I've had in recent memory. This is my third time to Eureka! My visit has always been a good one, this time it was exceptional. Kenny offered helpful explanations and tips regarding both the drink and the food menu. The 'cocktail of the month' was so fabulous that my aunt and I each ordered it twice! I can't recall the name but it was served with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a cinnamon stick. Stir gently, sip and enjoy. For lunch, I ordered the Fresno Fig burger, subbing havarti cheese instead of goat cheese. Great choice!! I only eat cow 0-1 times per year and this burger delivered on flavor. The sweet potato fries were a nice addition. We sat in the patio section which offers a relaxed ambiance and wasn't too chilly. It's bit smaller inside and outside has more room for our group of 6. I was too involved in conversation and forgot to take pics, so you'll just have to trust me.
