Although I am very appreciative that Eureka remained open through our circumstances, never in my life have I experienced a server/employee treat me so harsh where they were attacking me when I would ask a kind question because it was my first time eating at Eureka. I am also a food server and work in a restaurant so I am familiar with southern hospitality and being patient when it comes to working during COVID. This man (wish I could have gotten his name) was working on the main floor alone Monday, July 20th, 2 pm when we arrived and as I sat down I was unfamiliar with the process with ordering through my phone and no one approaching. I kindly asked the man if everything was through smartphone and he had already seemed bothered and said yes then rolled his eyes after. It was no problem for me because I know how to use my phone and do a simple order. I was recommended to this restaurant by a friend who also previously worked at Eureka at that location and she had mentioned that happy hour was amazing. I approached the same guy again and asked about a happy hour (thinking about the food) and he said "our prices are already cheap, these are our beers in front of you. Everything is to go" Now I was super uncomfortable and my friend (the one who previously worked there) noticed that these guys were really treating us unfairly. Also, mind you that we were the only ones in the patio and no one had placed To go's that made him busy. When the food was placed at the To go station to pick up, I went up to the table to pick up the bags and asked the man if I could please have some plates and silverware because we were eating in the patio. This man seemed like he was about to blow up and looked at me and spoke slowly as if I had a problem hearing saying "I don't think you understand, everything is to go, do you need me to repeat that? You have plastic tupaware, use those, and I already gave you silverware in there! What else would you possibly need?" Right after he was telling me those things I had to turn to the side and couldn't look at him because I started to get emotional with how this guy was responding to me and just shook my head and walked back to my table. As I opened my bag, I pulled out the tupaware and there were no utensils and napkins. That's where I lost it and started actually crying because this man was basically yelling at me for making me feel like an inconvenience and I honestly just wanted to leave the place. I am a pretty sensitive person, but I believe any person whether they are sensitive or not would have genuinely felt attacked by this mad. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day, but NOBODY should treat a customer/guest in that way. This man also saw that I was sad and went somewhere else where I couldn't see him anymore. read more

I love this place it was my first time coming here with my boyfriend. We were looking for a nice restaurant that opens late and have a great dinner and conversation. This place has outside seating with a romantic, relaxing ambiance. I love specially their waterfalls with the fire. We got the mac and cheese balls it was very delicious no need for any sauce. We also got the bison burger, chicken sliders and fried cauliflower. And we love all of it. Drinks were ok. I ordered the penicillin and the bourbon. read more

I absolutely Love Eureka! Where do I begin? 1. Greeted by welcoming hostess. 2. We sat at the bar and even though it was busy we were acknowledged within seconds. 3. Our server/bartender's name is Nicky and she mixes really amazing cocktails. I would always look for her when I go back. 4. This Eureka is located inside the UC Irvine Campus where there is adequate parking so that's always a plus! 5. The prices were not terrible either. 6. They have a decent array of Craft Beers and Porters. That's always a plus for my hubby! All in all I'm glad that we finally visited. Fine for a bar. Great choice if you are going to watch a game as there are plenty of TVs and a large bar area. There was just a little wait for a table on Memorial day weekend and had a table with a good view of the TVs. The menu was okay. Not many healthy choices. I was between the Mahi mahi tacos for $10.50 or the salmon which was $18. I figured the salmon wouldn't fill me up and neither would the tacos but I'd rather only spend 10 and a little extra for a starter if I was still hungry. The tacos were a little larger than those tiny street tacos but definitely not large. I substituted a side of veggies instead of the rice the tacos came with so I was moderately filled. We also started with shishito peppers so that satisfied more of my hunger. Caution about the peppers...some can be extremely spicy!! We each had a super spicy one and it burned until our main meals came. Don't think I will be ordering those again. We stayed until the end of the basketball game so we ordered the apple crisp dessert to share. It was a little on the smaller side, I'd recommend not sharing it between more than 2 people. I was invited to the restaurant to dine in and try their food fresh. It was far better than when I had it delivered to me through postmates. I blame the fact that it was close to closing time, that the delivered food wasn't at it's best. During my visit, I tried the Napa Chicken, the Kimchi Burger, and the Truffle fries. 100% better dining in!! I was actually able to focus on the flavors this time and was not disappointed. I don't normally enjoy Kimchi, but this burger had layers that complemented each other. It was quite a mess, but I honestly can't think of a great burger that wasn't messy! The Napa Chicken and the Truffle Cheese Fries were my favorite though. I love truffle fries (unlike most places, these had a great truffle flavor and I couldn't stop eating them!). The Napa Chicken was a basic chicken sandwich, so it was hard to go wrong here. There was no wait to be seated. The server was nice, but rarely checked in on my table. "Hoppy" hour is 2-6PM and 9pm to closing...EVERYDAY! Within steps from UCI, expect the crowd to be of that generation. Lots of them. We came for their late night HH and availed of their discounted appetizers, namely the Corn Dogs ($5) and Osso Bucco Riblets ($6) which you probably should skip because honestly, they're nothing special. The Bone Marrow Burger ($16.50-not part of HH) was excellent in taste but before you get overly excited, might I add that it's also oozing with so much grease? Now that I've been a good citizen and warned you about that bit, I'm sure it's the bone marrow causing all that awesomeness which is exactly why I don't mind. Their burgers come with fries so I opted for sweet potato fries for an extra $1.50, with most of them being soggy. Does this burger meal warrant the $18 price tag? Probably not. Thank God for their extensive list of craft beers. Beer lovers will definitely enjoy trying a variety of their offerings with $2 off during HH. Aside from the classic Sculpin IPA that I always find myself getting, the Mission Shipwrecked double IPA was another poison I thoroughly enjoyed that evening. Flights are not discounted but is always a good way to try different beers. Service was spotty and there seemed to be a delay consistency with our drink orders. Granted it was a busy Friday night and we were with a big group, I guess I should cut our server some slack. I'm just glad he allowed different tabs for our table. Wow. I have no complaints. Got the fig burger because the waitress said it was one of the most popular ones and it was damned good. I would order it again in a heartbeat, except I'm dying to try what other goodies they have on the menu. The fries were soggy and unimpressive, but not so much so that it ruined the experience. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with a friend at 11AM First impression when I got inside was that it looked very..pale and kinda dark, but looking outside you can kinda see that Eureka has the gray background. We were then taken to a table and given menus quickly. I saw something that caught my eye. Bone Marrow Burger Wha. Wha. Does that... omg that would sound so good. BUT SHOULD I No :( Since it was my first time there, and that burger was $16, I didn't think it was worth my while to actually try and get something like that. I went for the next best thing, the Cowboy burger, which was "only" $12. I thought it'd be a big burger b/c at that price, it would match Red Robin's. Or maybe Umami. I was kinda disappointed when I saw how small the burger actually looked :( I did however enjoy the burger (not enough BBQ sauce though), but I was still kinda surprised that it was $12 for something of that size. I don't know, felt like there'd be something....more. The fries in itself were good, and ketchup was also on the side for that. The burger is "good" but not "great", at the price that you're paying for it, you're expecting a little bit something better than what they give you. Service was nice, as they continually came back and asked how we were doing, and they also enjoyed the Pug Christmas sweater that I was wearing hehehe. :D It's a more "modern-y" experience and a very nice welcome to UTC, but paying for something more...higher class here. I'm a huge Eureka fan and have always ventured out to Redlands and Claremont just to get my burger cravings, but when I heard that this place opened right in my backyard, I was super excited to try this place. We came here on a Friday night and there was about a 45 minute wait. Their waiting system is pretty efficient because they get your cell number so when your table is ready, you will get a text. By the time we were seated, we were super hungry! So what did we order? 1. Mac n Cheese Alfredo ($6): I was disappointed by how small this appetizer was. It was creamy and decadent for any mac n cheese lover. However, I was just disappointed with the portion size. You're definitely overpaying for it. (4/5) 2. Fresno Fig Burger ($12): They changed the name of this burger. It used to be called Fig Marmalade Burger. It comes with melted goat cheese, fig marmalade, bacon, arugula, red onion, tomatoes, and spicy porter mustard. Overall, it's my favorite burger at Eureka. One thing that I was disappointed about this place is that they have substantially cut down on the fries that they give you compared to the other locations. (5/5) 3. Bone Marrow Burger ($16.50): When you're seated, immediately ask for it. They only have a limited number daily, and we were lucky enough to get the last one for the night! The burger comes with mustard aioli, oven-roasted tomato, onion, and bone marrow porcini butter. Delicious! Definitely worth a try! (5/5) Overall, service was great. I recommend coming here for happy hour because their appetizers are cheaper. One thing that I noted is that their portion of fries are different than the other Eureka locations I've been to. Another burger joint? Sure, I'll try it. Please let it not be a "hipster" place... Given that I was just in a wedding this past weekend where I had to starve myself to fit into the bridesmaid dress, I was pretty excited to be able to eat a burger again. And drink beer! Hello, calories, I miss you: do you miss me? This is a prime location for students, though I didn't see many when I went. They have lots of communal style seating, which is good for large groups and friends, though it definitely won't be good for anything intimate. I like that they have lots of outdoor seating though: California weather is perfect for this. The truffle fries were excellent, and so is the bone marrow burger. You can upgrade your side fries with onion rings, which I don't think is worth it because you only get three (although they are giant), but they weren't that good. They lacked flavor and was a bit overcooked. I wish they had an option to upgrade the side fries with truffle fries, because I would do that in a heartbeat! Kudos for having a nice craft beer menu with some Belgians and offerings from local breweries. They have a decent selection to choose from, which is pretty awesome. They also have a nice selection of wine to choose from. Which means, they have something for everyone. Well unless...you hate beer and wine. Then sorry, you're out of luck. In all, a great place to hang with some buddies for a casual lunch or drinks. Look out for the daily specials. On Tuesdays, they have 1/2 off wine by the glass. Pour it up! Since my first visit, I've been back 5 or so times (both for meals and happy hours), and they definitely deserve an upgraded review. Admittedly, I have never tried their burgers again, but I have been consistently pleased by their Watermelon/Arugula salad. Flavors are fantastic and portion isn't too small for the price. Definitely recommend if you're not craving a burger. I also recommend checking out their happy hour. They have a decent selection of food items, such as Truffle fries, fried chicken sliders (a bit dry when I tried it), steamers (clams), and more. One thing I've consistently noticed is the quality of their service. The waitstaff are very personable, polite, and patient. New verdict: still not rave-worthy, but it has transitioned into a somewhat regular part of my food outings. I don't know how to feel about this place, but definitely not impressed. To begin with, this place is a bar more than anything. Food is just something to munch on- I don't see it being an actual restaurant. What makes me mad is the small selection of plates, the food looks forever to come out, and the taste of their food- it has no flavor. I ordered a burger and took over 20 minutes to prepare. I mean how long can it take to make a burger? And when my burger came out, there was nothing special about the taste. To be honest, an In'N'Out burger tastes better. Not only that, but I paid $11 for that. $11 isn't bad, but I was disappointed because I was expecting something "memorable". Service is great, the restaurant is pretty, clean, and well maintained, and great atmosphere so one start for each of those. I think if you like beer and whiskey, this is your place. But if you're looking for great food, maybe don't come here or don't have high expectations for the burgers. read more

We really had a nice lunch here. It was pretty full shortly before 12 already but we got the last booth (they have 3) Service is good, the food comes out fast as well. I think prices are a bit steep, but again worth it. Not enough to have all the time but the onion rings are out of this world good as worth the upcharge of $1.25. Though you only get 3, yes 3 rings, but each was the best I've ever had. The fries also good, I was tempted by the truffle fires but not for $8 since the portion was small, same goes for all the other apps, great choices but at $8-12 each not worth it. I had the veggie burger, my husband the jalapeno egg and my son the cowboy, they each loved them as well. We asked for a certain sauce and she said that she would be right back, but when she came back she just said "oh, we don't have that sauce". Shouldn't all wait staff know the menu? Anyway, time to move onto the food experience of our meal. // FOOD // Bison burger: Bacon-infused jalapeno jam / charbroiled tri-color peppers / red onion / smoked mozzarella / signature handcut fries. This burger was surprisingly sweet from the jalapeno jam. Also, all of the peppers just added more sweetness to the burger. I actually don't remember and red onion or mozzarella in the burger since all you can taste was the jalapeno jam. 2.5/5 Jalapeno Egg Burger: fried egg / cheddar / bacon / spicy chipotle aioli / pickled jalapenos / signature handcut fries. I expected more of a kick since they say it comes with a spicy chipotle sauce and jalapenos, but it wasn't spicy at all. The fried egg on top is always good, but I actually liked the bison burger better... 2/5 Overall, I was extremely disappointed with everything at Eureka. From the food to the service, everything was lacking. I was quite disappointed when we order our burgers medium and they come out well done. If you're a burger place, you should know how to cook a burger. The only thing that I did like here was the fries. They were nice and crispy and not too oily. As I said in my previous review, I would return to try their burgers. Ended up suggesting this place for a birthday lunch with a group of coworkers. Really wish I had tried some of their main entrees before suggesting this place for lunch because we ended up leaving disappointed. First off the service... Showed up pretty close to opening at 11am, tons of staff seemed to be walking around but the service was rather slow to take drink orders, food to come out, get a refill on drinks, wait for check, and wait for check to come back. Food... The bison burger and the bone marrow caught my eye and ended up going with the bone marrow burger. Pretty disappointing, asked for medium rare and it came out medium well. Not only that but the bun that it came on was really soggy. So I had a difficult time eating the burger. It was served with fries and I opted for the sweet potato fries. Should've learned from last time to get something else beside fries. Doesn't seem to matter if you order regular or sweet potato fries but they're all soggy and really unappetizing to eat. Birthday... Had mentioned to one of our server it was our buddy's birthday and they mentioned they do a free sundae. Check comes back out, and sundae no where to be found. What a sad birthday... I appreciate their customer service reaching out and apologizing for the experience I had previously, but I probably won't be coming back here until I see some stellar 5 star reviews and they work out all the kinks. This place has the perfect ambiance and atmosphere to be a solid bar and restaurant--which, I will add they have a WONDERFUL bar--though I am always met with underwhelming food experiences here (and am not quite happy with how much I spend for it). It's the perfect spot for UCI students to go across the street and grab a quick drink or bite after classes or spend a night out. (Win!) Though, their happy hour (3-5pm I believe, and 9pm-close) is probably the best time to come--$2 off all draft, bottled beers, wine; happy hour food menu with reasonably priced items. The atmosphere provides a comforting, casual, intimate and "grown-up" kind of feel that's great for catching up with friends. The thing that keeps me coming back here is the ease of accessibility and nice environment to go to with friends. It's a great place to grab drinks any night (or day, if you're into that--stay off the hard liquor cocktails though, haha). I've had their tacos, which are underwhelmingly small and unimpressive; truffle fries are decent; nacho fries are decent. I LOVE their craft beer selection (Noble Ale Works for the win; Saint Archer Blonde is a good go-to; Orange Wheat is a cheap one to sip on, but I'm a Stout and Porter fan). Their staff is usually always on-point, but their only vice is their underwhelming food choices. Eureka! is definitely one for the drinks. Thank GOD UCI has one within the UTC plaza to enjoy some happy moments during these great times in our lives! But for food? The pub on campus definitely has better, beer-friendly food and eats. Happy Hour includes lower prices on starters and drinks so we ordered the Truffle Cheese Fries and Osso Buco Riblets for our appetizers and the Fresno Fig Burger for our entree. We came here on Sunday for brunch, which ends at 2PM. We both ended up ordering the 6 pack burrito. The burrito is not huge but big enough to make you feel sated. The charred tomato salsa that goes with the burrito provides a little bit of fire. Maybe the burrito was named the 6 pack because they used ground turkey instead of bacon, it didn't have that many scrambled eggs in it, and there were no potatoes in it. A cup of fruit with small, cubed pineapples and halved red grapes was a nice accompaniment. What I didn't expect was that Eureka comped us for a dessert for what they felt was a long wait for the burritos. To be honest with you, I didn't feel that it was a long wait! But who's to argue with a free dessert? I chose the Bourbon Barrel Cake, which the waiter said was a good choice. I thought that he said that because of course, he works there. His statement turned out to be true. My skepticism was unnecessary! I gobbled up the cake, which was served with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and candied pecans. My husband had some of the cake, but I ate the lion's share. The bourbon flavor was subtle, and the cake wasn't overly sweet like what you find at other restaurants. The vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and candied pecans really worked well with the cake. Thank you, Eureka, for a free dessert. The service was also great. The patty was also juicy. I really enjoyed the pickles and toppings in my burger; however the onions were a little too much. I took a big bite of the onion and made my nose feel kinda raw after. Aside from that, I quite enjoyed my meal. The fries were a huge plus as well, super crispy! I had a taste of my boyfriend's burger and I wasn't that big of a fan because all I tasted was the goat cheese... It was hella pungent, but he liked it.. Eureka used to be my go to local place with girlfriends or the Hubbie but after my recent experience on a Saturday night, I won't be back. Even though we were immediately seated, it took 15 minutes for a server to take our order. She was abrupt and unfriendly, never checked on us, acted offended when we had to ask for the check and ran the bill up wrong, double charging us for a burger. After all this when I asked to see the manager, she refused said she was a " junior manager " or some nonsense. Close to my worst experience at a restaurant. read more

Went in with family for dinner after a concert at UCI. Two in our party ordered burgers which were served on buns that had mold. We alerted our server and remade the burgers but at that point no one was interested in eating the burgers. To make matters worse they left the burgers on our bill. They should have not charged us for those burgers. I will not be returning to this location. read more

A couple friends and I went to Eureka on a Sunday for a mini celebratory lunch. They have a weekend $5 Bloody Mary and mimosa special, so I took advantage of that and got myself a mimosa. My friends all had beers, which I do believe they enjoyed. Otherwise, their happy hours are pretty decent since it's offered twice a day. I got the Napa Burger which was $11.50. Their bun was really nice, but the juices from the burger did make it soggy towards the end. The meat had really good flavor, was nice and juicy, and had good thickness and size. I was skeptical since arugula tends to be overpowering, but it was very well balanced with the rest of the components of the burger. To be honest, it was the first pleasant meal with arugula I've had. The fries that comes with the burger was good, as fries usually are. My friend got the bison burger, which is his favorite. That burger dripped with juices from his fingertips and down his forearm. Maybe, I'll try that one next. Overall, the experience was really good. The service wasn't slow like other reviewers claim it to be. Maybe I got lucky or they've improved. The restaurant itself has a relaxing, modern vibe that I truly enjoyed. It is great for a business lunch, date, or casual lunch. My only complaint is that it's slightly pricier than I think it should be. read more
