I have been to this place a couple times already because the food was well done and better quality than many fancy restaurants, but recently my friend and I decided to take out and we were very disappointed. I got the salmon plate and my friend the pescado plate and they gave us like the left over raw veggies from their kitchen. All the tails of the asparagus (super chewy and hard to eat) and practically raw carrots. The food and service were definitely 5 stars and I would have given a total of five instead of four if it wasn't for the fact we had to move tables because they have speakers playing very loud in many of the areas of the room. There were four of us and everything we ordered except one small thing were delicious. The guacamole, the shrimp fajitas, enchilada verde, I had a blood orange mojito that I am still thinking about! They raised the price of the Happy Hour Margarita to $6.99. The Happy Hour pitcher is $25.99 which is basically the price of three and a half cups, but it serves 5 cups. Nevertheless I couldn't drink more than 3 cups. I love the Queso Fundido way more than the Guacamole. The latter of which was good but I only ate half of. Neither of them were on sale and were rather pricey. $14 for guacamole, and $18 for queso. The complimentary chips and salsa is always good. They also have a special request Habanero Salsa but it's average. I wonder if they have a green Tomatillo salsa. read more

We made a reservation for 11 at 9PM on a Saturday evening and were fortunate to get a room that's tucked away to the side. The music can be a bit loud in the main seating area, so it was nice having a bit of insulation. Our server was Ash as she was very attentive and friendly. We started off with guacamole and queso fundido as appetizers. The pork rinds with nice and crunchy & the guacamole paired well with the complimentary tortilla chips. The queso fundido had a nice cheese pull and was quite savory. I ended up ordering 1 chicken and 1 asada taco & the asada was definitely my favorite. I'm not a huge fan of cactus so I found myself removing the nopales salsa from the chicken taco. Both types of protein were cooked very well though, and were both flavorful and moist. Went in for lunch on a Tuesday with 13 other people. On Tuesday they have $2 tacos (except fish). Once seated you tell the server how many tacos out want and then they give you a receipt print out to take to taco bar. Half of us decided to opt for the taco bar for the sake of time and cost. I ordered fish tacos and the person across from me order enchiladas. Most of our party was almost finished when the enchiladas came out. Each time the server passed she said she would check on my tacos (3 times). A manager passed and said the same thing. After everyone was finished ( and while the person across with enchiladas was half way through), my fish tacos came out, in time for me to ask for a to go box. The restaurant is nicely decorated and was not that busy. The restaurant location was a little weird, it was next to some business buildings. Parking was small, there is a small lot behind the building and a slightly bigger one across the street. I have been seeing ads for this place for Taco Tuesday everywhere on my socials. We decided to give it a try for Taco Tuesday. We went around 5-6pm and there was parking available, although I did see they have free valet parking available. Here is what we ordered: Taco Tuesday Tacos: These are smaller tacos that are $1.50 each. They have a lot of meat options. They basically print you out a ticket with the number of tacos you order and you have to line up to actually get it. The line did not take very long, but they did run out of chicken and did not say anything to anyone. I had to wait in 2 lines, first letting me know they were waiting on it, and then another long line to must et my 1 chicken taco I did not get the first time around. I feel like with it being Taco Tuesday, they could have been a bit more prepared or accommodating knowing it would be a pretty busy night. Queso Birria Tacos: This was just ok. I took about a bite or 2, but it was just a bit lukewarm and dry. It did come with consome, but there was not as much flavor to it as I am used to from the birria taco trucks. Mango Margarita: This was decent. It had mango pieces in it and was just regular size. We were a bit confused when they brought out a regular sized drink, since there was a happy hour sign that said there was a deal for $10 for a liter. We realized that that entire page was not all liter sized and that it was only for the first like 5 drinks listed. Overall, I was not too impressed with this place. All the meats were mediocre and the service also could have been better. I have had better Taco Tuesday deals, so I am not sure I'd be returning to this one. read more

I walked in here on a Friday night and it was pretty lively. There was another table near us that had a birthday party and the staff went out of their way to help them celebrate. They brought out a cake and whistled loudly, which was entertaining to watch. They also had music videos on their TVs to help out with the atmosphere. They have a $40 ayce brunch buffet on Sunday with bottomless Mimosas. We did not partake, but our kids did. Had we participated, probably an extra star for the Mimosas. I had the enchiladas verdes. Just ok. Wifey got the carne asada tacos. Again, just ok. Kids didn't seem too impressed with the buffet, though they def got our money's worth. They have a wandering mariachi band which was cool. They have nice music playing mainly Mexican and service was great Nancy,The bartender was very attentive and a big shout out to Heidi, which I believe was the manager.. she was very Hands-on, I asked if they had a spicier version of the chips and salsa I mean for the salsa she said , yes we have actually two different ones and she brought them over and they were great. My husband enjoyed the tacos one with the mushroom, a fish taco and a shrimp taco. He devour them. They were great. Calaveras was an excellent choice when we were hungry for Mexican food. I had the steak tacos and they were absolutely amazing. My son had the chicken burrito and he loved it. We also shared some nachos with steak. They were pretty good. The portions are decent And worth the price. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. Wow, they have upped their game for Taco Tuesdays. The tortillas are street taco size. They have a buffet set up where a server offers MANY different choices of meat and gives a generous portion for each taco. Then there's a salsa and veggie bar that is so robust- fresh cucumbers, marinated carrots, cilantro several salsas, shredded cabbage- and the tacos are only $1.49 each. I came here several months ago and it was really disappointing, but now I'm planning my next Taco Tuesdays visit. Also, their Albondigas soup is fantastic. Daniel, the bartender, was superb in both customer service and his craft cocktail mixology. We started with ranch water with Don Julio Blanco with Topo Chico and three limes muddled with mint and the empanada appetizer. The ambiance was positive, and the background music complimented the ambiance. My wife ordered the chile Verde chicken enchilada plate, and I had the chicken fajitas. I brought my cousin and her friend here to celebrate their birthdays. The food and ambiance looked great and upbeat for a birthday celebration! The good: the food- everything was delicious. Great flavors, well seasoned and well cooked. The not so great: the service. It didn't seem as if it was very full and there were a few servers yet our server seemed very overwhelmed. She took very long periods in between seating us, asking for our drinks and then our order. We asked for napkins or a straw and she would forget and not come back. She's kept apologizing so I understand she recognized this but it did put a damper on the evening. The feedback I would have is I asked a few times (reservation notes, at the front and when seated) if they could give us some fun seating for the birthday girls. They say us right in the middle of the floor - and there were some fun booths empty.
