Came here for Happy Hour (everyday after 9pm!), once upon a Thursday. It wasn't crowded at all. Menu prices are average, but their Happy Hour is a great deal! If you're looking for something to munch on with a beer, they have some really good dishes. - Glazed Brussels Sprouts - Perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside, tender on the inside and that sweet glaze on the outside--SO YUMMY! - Chicken Nachos - Whatever the sauce is on this dish, it's so good. - Truffle Fries - Delicious! You can taste the truffle. It also comes with a side of some kind of cheesy sauce. That sauce was a little odd because I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be that thin or if it was supposed to be thicker like most dipping sauces. They also have $2 off beer (non-rotating) and wine. Beer selection for happy hour is a little limited, but the prices aren't too bad if you decide to just order a rotating beer that's not offered on happy hour (ranges from $7-9 i think). Overall, I love the vibe and decor. Food was very tasty. They look like they can accommodate big groups too. I'd come back! read more

Delicious food, however I do wish the service was faster. We were easily there for 2 hours and while I enjoyed it, people who are looking to go somewhere for a quick meal wouldn't. This is NorCals version of yard house. I love that they have every day happy hour deals for $5 mimosas or bloody Mary's. For personal reference, please do not ever order a Bloody Mary because it just tastes like a tomato juice and alcohol made a baby and it came out all . I ordered the Eureka speciality burger which was amazing . It came with a side of salad :) we also ordered the Fries off of the delightful happy hour price. I arrived on a Friday evening at 6pm for OC restaurant week. The wait was 30 min for a party of 2. They currently have a $20 deal going on which was their prefix menu. For my starter, I ordered truffle fries. They also had Brussels sprouts but I ended up getting the truffle fries. Eh the fries were ok. You're better off getting the Brussels sprouts though since the burgers come with regular fries. 2.5/5 on the truffle fries. Nothing spectacular and nothing strange. Just average and normal. My entree was the regular eureka burger. Medium rare. Average as well. It was big. Definitely big. Cooked medium rare also. But nothing omg and nothing that id crave. 2.5/5 on this as well. dessert was the rum pudding. Yes you heard me, pudding that is like rum. 1/5. I didn't like this at all. Imagine thick butter scotch pudding. I'm talking hardcore caramel like substance in a Twix candy bar. Not a big fan. It was like eating a soft chocolate candy bar. Yeah, no thanks. I'd rate them overall a 2, but they had great service. Refilled my water nonstop. Would I be back? Eh I don't think so. But it was worth trying for restaurant week. I love going to this place near my home town and when I was traveling in the Irvine area and saw that they had one in town I stopped by. The food and the quality of the food were great but I give this particular location 3 stars based on the service that I received. I guess service in the area of Irvine vs the Bay Area are not the same. Anyway, if you have not checked this place out in the Bay Area or in the Irvine area, I highly recommend that you check it out. Went here to eat right off the bat the waiter Warns you there is a 16% surcharge for the Waiters so it automatically adds 10.00 on your bill we both know that's bullshit ! The service was amazing here, I had the server named Hannah and she was very friendly, nice, and an amazing server. Was always checking in on me constantly or passing by and just giving me a thumps up asking if everything was good. The food was delicious and the old fashioned's were made so good one of the best I've had. I'm laughing. I was given a $50 card to make up for the terrible experience. When I redeem it, I was told it was only good for one meal each. Completely laughable. What a corny experience. On a $50 gift card I was only able to redeem $30 I'm sure they pocketed the rest to tip. Fuck this place. Called in for pickup and was on hold for 15-20 min, enough time for me to arrive and order in person. There's definitely a reason this location gets lower reviews than others. This review is for their Happy Hour! This is one of the few places that have HH every day including the weekends! HH times are 2-6pm and 9pm-close everyday. The restaurant is located in UTC near the valet stand. Parking can be difficult to get during peak hours. They have different specials going on everyday. For example, we visited on a Tuesday and wine was 50% off all day. We ordered the chicken nachos and ($7) and truffle fries ($6) to go with our drinks. I had a glass of their sauvignon blanc and my friend had their charcoal lemonade. The food was great and the portions were large definitely enough to share with a group of friends. Service was great, our server had great patience with us even though it took us a while to order. I would recommend this place for Happy Hour! read more

I really enjoy the location at the Hawthorn Airport, and having found this location, I was interested in checking it out, so I met a friend for a cocktail. Much of the place is very familiar, same cocktails, same menu, same happy hour, expanded beer list, but there is something that is lost in the transition from the smaller venue with the picture window looking out onto the runway to just another corporate entity in Irvine. I guess this is just the old man in me griping about a place that gets successful, because it certainly was crowded. The bar was packed (though I did luck into a recently vacated table), as was the rest of the restaurant, easily 4 times the size of the spot in the South Bay. We had a couple of happy hour apps, the Brussels Sprouts and the Mac& Cheese balls (the two best items on the menu) and I had a cocktail while my friend had a beer. The service in the are was tag teamed, which is good in one respect (less wait time), but I forgot to remind the other server who brought the check about the happy hour discount we were supposed to get for ordering moments after the cut off. A few bucks does not make a huge difference, but the guy who originally served us didn't catch it until I had already paid the bill. I suppose this sits between 3 and 4 stars for me, and I will round up because it is the grumpy old man in me that knocks the place down, longing for the quieter location to which I am accustomed. read more

Eureka is an excellent place to hit up during happy hour because each day of the week is something special. The restaurant is located at the University Town Center just right next to Mendocino Farms. There is ample parking in the center but because UTC is technically considered "on campus" you'll find that it is very busy during the lunch and dinner hours. On the day of my visit, their special happy hour deal was this take-home glass if you ordered the Pizza Port beer. The beer was alright but I liked the idea of taking home my special glass so it was still a great deal for me. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating here and though it's usually pretty dead from 2-5pm, this is definitely a popular location in the evening. Their appetizers are delicious, to be quite honest I can't remember everything I tried since our table had shared a couple plates, but I would certainly return for another opportunity. Went here last night for dinner. The food to be honest is mediocre at best and they really honed down their menu. Even removed the best item (riblets) for some reason. But because we had a bigger group and everyone is short staffed, to be honest, they did their best. 4/5 for the effort and for Alek, our server who did everything he could for multiple tables. Came here for Hoppy Hour 9PM - closing on a Sunday and the place was very mellow. This review is just for their Hoppy Hour menu since we didn't really order from the main menu. This is located at the University Center right next to Mendocino Farms. I dig the vibes of this place, very young, hip, and fun. The Brussels sprouts & truffle cheese fries were my favorites. The Brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted and tossed in some kind of olive oil and seasoning. The truffle cheese fries servings are huge... but so good, we had to order a second plate. It came with this aioli like dipping sauce, mild but does the work. We tried their chicken nachos ($9) and it was plenty to share. The mac and cheese balls were good, it came in a bed of arugula and parmesan cheese with this ranch like dip. Everything you see behind the bar (except Tequila) are all made in America. They source their beers from local brewers and distillers. You can request to sample what they have on tap before deciding on what beer to order. Overall, this place is chill, appetizers were good, the price was decent because of Hoppy Hour. Hoppy Hour appetizers are for dine in only. Our server, Lauren, made sure we were well taken cared of.
