Sourdough bread tasty!!
James H.

Service Our server was excellent sorry forgot his name. He was attentive knowledgeable and kind. Ambiance Very very nice . Clean. Some tables a little too close can hear the people next to you conversation. Overall pleasant atmosphere. Food We order the sourdough bread a big loaf with the three spreads blue cheese ricotta basil and the bruschetta they were all tasty only sad part small portions. The salted butter is awesome we got an extra. Ok our mains we ordered the meatballs they were ok a little on the rare side and the tomato sauce it came with is meh no real taste not sweet not spicy. The server recommended the crab Benedict his only downfall lol it was way too salty and had a fishy smell we had to sen back. We also had the blueberry Pancakes get ready these aren't your normal pancakes they were like dry biscuits does not come with syrup make sure you get syrup and butter if you do order that is what mad them a little more tasty and not so dry. We did like the place and believe there are other items o. The brunch menu that are more satisfying we just had a meh day.

I went for the Roast Porchetta but sadly they only serve at lunch and not for brunch. I'll never be there for lunch on the weekdays because of my work schedule. The service is always super friendly. I love that they don't crowd your table and your mains don't come out until you're basically ready. They don't rush you. The crab and spinach Benedict was good, but I've had better and I wasn't thrilled with the soft brioche-like bread. I was missing the crunch. The portion of lump crab was generous. Their sourdough and spreads are always a win. The dip was huge and tasty. The affogato was the best I've had. So smart to freeze the cup and ice cream so the hot espresso doesn't completely melt everything. There was still frozen ice cream until the last bite.

When I say this place deserves every bit of praise and every positive review you see, I mean it! I've been here more times than I can count at this point, and every single experience has been amazing. I've genuinely never had a bad dish here. My fiance is especially obsessed with the breaded mussels. He loved them so much that he would order two platters before his meal (insane lol)! Brunch and lunch are both great, but dinner is definitely my favorite time to come here. Every pasta dish I've tried has been excellent and even the simplest dishes are incredibly impressive. The pizzas are great too and I love that they switch up the menu seasonally. I wish I could name more specific dishes, but honestly, everything I've ever ordered here has been delicious. The bread service is an absolute must! My favorite spreads are the basil ricotta, nduja, burrata, and fegatini. It's such a great way to start the meal, and I highly recommend trying a few different options. The drinks are great as well. Beyond the food, I absolutely love the ambiance. The interior has such a great vibe, and I love that it's located in the Arts District. The service has also been incredible every time I've visited. The staff is attentive, the food comes out quickly, and the pacing between courses is always really well done. I truly cannot say enough good things about Esther's Kitchen. It's one of those places I'm always happy to come back to, and it never disappoints! The only thing I will say is that because some of the dishes are seasonal, you might get sad when they're no longer on the menu. I would do just about anything to have the sweet corn agnolotti again...

My final Las Vegas meal was at Esther's Kitchen, a local gem in the Arts District, well off the Strip. It's described as a seasonal Italian neighborhood restaurant, and it had been on my Las Vegas foodie list for some time. Chef James Trees was a James Beard Award finalist, and the restaurant is listed in the Michelin Guide. We didn't have the time or appetite for the housemade sourdough, but I saw plenty of it coming out of the kitchen. You can choose from an amazing selection of spreads to go with it, and I definitely felt like we were missing out! We arrived for our 5 p.m. reservation, right when the restaurant opens, and the line was already out the door. Fortunately, it moved quickly. We were seated in the bar area. That was probably my one disappointment, as it's separated from the open kitchen and the main dining room, where most of the action takes place. As big fans of mussels, we started with the Baked Nduja Butter Mussels. This was nothing like the traditional bowl of mussels swimming in a buttery broth. They arrived already split open and topped with umami breadcrumbs, chili and parsley, almost resembling Oysters Rockefeller. The breadcrumbs gave them a nice crunch with a little heat from the chili. Not my favorite way to prepare mussels, but it was fun to try something completely different. For our entrees, we went with two of the classic pastas: Rigatoni and Spaghetti. The Rigatoni was tossed with black kale pesto, almonds, lemon and pecorino. It was rich and hearty, with the lemon adding just enough brightness to balance everything out. The Spaghetti was much simpler, with a classic tomato sauce, baby heirloom tomatoes and basil. Both were delicious, and the portions were surprisingly large. I have a pretty big appetite and only made it halfway through my Rigatoni. Our server Jesse recommended the Butterscotch Budino for dessert, telling us it has been on the menu since the restaurant opened. Now I understand why. Creamy butterscotch topped with whiskey caramel, honeycomb and vanilla Chantilly. Sweet, silky and a great finish to our meal. The menu at Esther's Kitchen is awesome. My only regret was that we didn't have more people with us and more time to explore it. Next trip!

Ribeye, side smashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, branzino, sourdough bread and spread
Regina C.

We had a really good dinner at Esther's Kitchen. The ribeye was a standout, and the branzino was also tasty, though it could have used a little more salt. We loved the bread and dip selection--especially the simple butter with sea salt and olive oil, which was honestly so good. We also tried the anchovy butter, burrata, Calabrian chickpea spread, and smashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and everything made for a great shared meal. The atmosphere felt lively and the food was thoughtful, comforting, and easy to enjoy family-style. Definitely a place I'd return to--just with a pinch more seasoning on the branzino next time.

Cacio e Pepe

Esther's Kitchen was excellent! We didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait for a table, but it was definitely worth it. We ended up sitting at the bar. The service was a little slow, but the bartender was very nice and definitely knew how to make an excellent drink. The ambiance is really cute, and sitting at the bar gave us a great view of the Arts District, which was perfect for people watching. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe, and it was so good! The portion size was great, and the noodles were absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend trying it. Since it was brunch time, we also ordered the egg toast. The eggs were delicious, and the toast tasted like it was homemade. It was unexpected, but definitely a pleasant surprise. We also ordered the French dip, which came with a side of au jus and was definitely the highlight of the meal. The sandwich was incredibly flavorful, and the bread was warm and perfectly crispy. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

Freshly made pasta! Yes it taste so fresh and satisfying. First make sure you make reservations. Walk in wasn't being taken on a Thursday 8p. Large place but this restaurant gets extremely busy. Plan for parking as well which is on streets with paid meters. There were plenty of large parties with 20 people tables. Even with a reservation we still waited at least 20 minutes. Very dark lighting inside fyi. Now food...everyone orders the bread. The bread is served hot soft inside and super crispy exterior. I would say this and the basil creme dips is one of the best I've ever had. Then Caesar salad arrives which is large lettuce that you still must cut. It's very fresh and you can consume with your crispy exterior bread. We ordered spaghetti which was one of the best pastas I've had. So soft and rich. It def tastes like it was recently hand made. Red sauce is so tasty and freshly made too. Meatballs with red sauce taste amazing too. It's so good I want to order exactly the same thing next time. Thank you Esters staff for making this dinner so special.

Came here for my daughter's birthday and Pedro made sure we had a great dinner! Everything on the menu came out! From the sourdough bread with all the toppings, Ceaser salad, mussels, tuna tartar and that was just the beginning. We had several pasta dishes, short rib, lamb shank and other things that I cannot remember. Desserts were crazy good including the butterscotch budini, cheesecake and torte. Always a great ambiance. Say hi to Pedro who is the chef if you go!

You can't do a Vegas restaurant query on any search engine without coming upon Esther's Kitchen, the award-winning spot in the burgeoning Arts District -- but this is not because of paid ads, it's because this restaurant is just flat-out fantastic, and should not be missed. Esther's is equally admired for brunch and dinner, but I came in for an evening meal and was seated in a good spot at the bar. The decor is a mix of homeyness and industrial chic, with calm lighting, lively music, and very comfortable seating. It's a fairly big place with a lot of tables, but everything has been well-spaced, so the busyness of the restaurant creates a festive mood without feeling crowded. The staff is moving fast, but they always greet you with a smile and a friendly demeanor, so you really feel comfortable settling in for the evening. My bartender/server was Tyler, who is 100% on his game mixing drinks, taking food orders, and chatting up the customers. Another very good egg in a town with lots of great servers. He whipped up a very tasty martini with blue cheese olives, and made sure to make menu suggestions to this first-timer. I began with an order of the Baked Mussels in Nduja Butter, topped with breadcrumbs. I'd seen photos online, and I was very excited to try this -- but my imagination couldn't hold a candle to the reality of this dish. The mussels themselves were plump and briny and fresh as can be, while the nduja-infused butter was savory and spicy and altogether crave-inducing. It would be easy to eat plate after plate after plate of these mussels all day long. Just wonderful. For my main I went with the Calabrian Pork Sausage, served atop lentils that have been stewed with onions and tomatoes. The large ring of sausage (I'm told the serving averages out at a full pound) is expertly chargrilled and boasts a complex flavor profile combining herbs, spice and just the right amount of fat. The accompanying lentils are a hoot -- quite wonderfully cooked to mimic campfire baked beans, their sweet, tomatoey taste profile being the perfect foil for the charred sausage, evoking the most upscale expression imaginable of franks & beans. This is just a winner, though the portion is enormous and really should be shared. I very much wanted dessert, as I imagine their Basque Cheesecake or Butterscotch Budino would be fantastic, but I just didn't have room for another bite. That said, I will be back, and I will be trying other things (including that dessert), and right now I'm multi-tasking: Yelping while searching flights to come back soon for dinner, or brunch, or both with a nap in-between. Don't miss this place. And definitely get the mussels!!!

Dropped by for brunch with girls. It was a very busy morning and we waited for almost 40 min for food. But it is well worth the wait. I got the proper omelette. Kids got the cheese pizza and proper breakfasts. I got the americano. My Americano was great. It comes with its own little creamer (almond milk). The cheese pizza was perfect with sourdough base. My proper omelet was indeed proper. The sourdough bread was grilled with smoky flavor. My daughter also enjoyed her proper breakfasts. Service was great. It was a packed morning and he did what he could to keep us entertained. Restaurant is well decorated. Cozy and sophisticated. Also super clean. We all had a great time!

As good as advertised. Truly an amazing culinary experience. The vibe is so different with its location in Old Vegas. The bar and the restaurant are both quite welcoming. The food was spectacular delicious and tasty. Must start with pizza and the sourdough bread. It was so good. The ment is just amazing. Go and enjoy.

Esther's Kitchen is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in Las Vegas, and after visiting a couple of times, I've been very pleased on both occasions. It's a great option if you want excellent food away from the Strip and right in the heart of the Arts District. One of the things I love about the location is that there are several great breweries nearby, making it easy to grab a drink before dinner and then take a short, safe walk over to the restaurant. The service has been great every time, and the food has been stellar. Everything we've ordered has been delicious, and the cocktails are excellent too. My only advice: be careful not to over-order! The portions and food are so good that you'll want to finish everything, but if you're staying in Vegas, taking leftovers back to your hotel isn't always practical. And honestly, the food is so good that I hate to see any of it go to waste! Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm in Las Vegas. Highly recommended!

Pasta Alla Chitarra

Food: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I had high hopes for this place but sadly I think my standards were too high. First and foremost, we came to this place on a Las Vegas First Friday, which definitely contributed to our bad vibe. The streets were busy and people were definitely under the influence and starring directly at us outside from the window while we were dining. Parking was horrendous on this night so we highly do not recommend making a reservation here on the First Friday of the month. However, it is easy to make a reservation via OpenTable. Service was great! We let our server know we were waiting on one more person and they were kind enough to continuously check in on us. Our cocktails were delicious. I wish I made a note of what we ordered but they were pretty and good. Food was meh. The sourdough bread we ordered with burrata was hard. The rigatoni I shared with someone was cold by the time we ate it and the rigatoni pasta was pretty hard. I read that this dish had almonds but I was not expecting almonds with every single bite. All in all, this tasted like cold, hard, crunchy pasta. My friend liked her pasta alla chitarra which was delicious but she said it also arrived cold. For the price we paid, I am not pleased with our food. I will give this place the benefit of the doubt and claim maybe it was an off day for them so maybe I would try this place again some other day.

Esther's Kitchen Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Esther's Kitchen

Do they accept tap pay or apple pay?

They took our physical card and returned with a paper receipt, but we were also seated at the bar.

Do they have a kids menu?

I did not see one there nor were there any children there. Menu is basically pasta and flatbread both of which can appeal to children.

Can you eat at the bar?

Yes, your best bet is right at 5pm. After the seats are gone, it’s first come first served by checking in at the host stand. We have an auxiliary bar upstairs where you can just get drinks or wait for your seat or table.

Is there a private dining room for small parties?

I'd call into the restaurant as there was a staircase, but it was blocked off so your possibilities may be high

What is the corkage fee?

25 but if you buy a bottle we waive a bottle

Is there really _only_ one vegan option? :-(

We can modify 12 items on the menu to be vegan. All our servers can walk you through the. menu and what changes are made to the dishes.

What are the gluten free options? And do you guard against cross-contamination (for those of us with celiacs)?

It's pretty sparse since they make their in-house sourdough bread and pasta. I remember they have a cauliflower all's romana with anchovies, chili, spices and garlic- just ask for no breadcrumbs

Would you recommend for this spot for a graduation dinner? I have only been for brunch

Absolutely! We had my sister's wedding dinner here and they were great with our group of about 10. Definitely add it to the notes when you make your reservation, and try to make it far in advance.

Do you offer gluten free?

Esther's Kitchen downtown does have some gluten-free options :)

What is the average wait time to get any seating for dinner on weekends for walk-ins? I've given up on trying to get reservations as it's always booked?

i walked in at about 11am on a Saturday with 30 minutes wait time. can't speak for dinner though

Is it kid friendly?

Yes

Is there a trick to getting a brunch reservation? The website for rest keeps showing an error and I have called a few times but keep getting a voicemail which I did leave a message?

Great question! The trick is - you can set a same day reservation using the Resy app. Sometimes you can call too, but if they're busy (often), they might not get to the phone unfortunately. Good luck! Also... Al Solito Posto in Summerlin has a…

Do you need reservation?

Not always, but it is definitely recommended.

Is there a happy hour?

Not currently at Esther's

Does Esther's Kitchen allow service animals in main dining area?

Only on their patio area.

Do they do Separate checks?

Yes, up to 4 ways.

Have they moved to there new location yet?

No. According to this article.…

Do they take walk-ins? Or you must have a reservation?

Yes! You can always try to swing a seat at the bar ☺️ but, reservations are always the move...

Hi! Will you cut and serve a cake brought by us for a birthday?

Call ahead and advise them, and they will do that for you.

Does the restaurant have its own parking lot?

No, arrive early so you can find street parking.

Our waitress was super friendly and really encouraged us to try some things because we really weren't sure about the menu. She was super attentive and we really appreciated that. The reason I'm giving this a three star review (and I feel bad doing so) is because I genuinely hated the drinks. Like viscerally hated. The menu really was a struggle as someone who's a gin drinker. There wasn't a lot on the menu which I'm often used to, but the drinks were either cloyingly sweet or incredibly tart and bitter. There seems to lack of balance and there were a lot of really weird flavors that really didn't seem to go together. Now I can't speak on every single drink on the menu, but I did try a couple that are either premixed or on tap and I really struggled with them. I was excited about the ginger drink, and I was given a taste of their homemade ginger beer, and it felt like it was going to burn a hole through my stomach. Which is typically not my reaction to anything gender flavored. I just think the balance of flavors are not quite right and so certain things overpowered other flavors. I ended up really not wanting anything on the menu because everything was so rum based and I really don't like rum, so they offered to make me a cocktail with some flavors that I liked. They told me they had passionfruit, which I was really excited about. It usually is a really nice combination of sweet but not too sweet and good fruity flavor. I had a passionfruit gin drink made, and it was absolutely gorgeous coming out. Unfortunately, what I didn't know was that the passionfruit that they have is on the very sour and tart side (contained by a staff member later), which has never been my experience with passionfruit in the past. One of the things that I told the waitress was that I really don't like sour. I like citrus but not something that is so overly sour that it tastes like I'm eating a warhead. And the drink that was made for me had both lemon and this really tart passionfruit to the point all I could taste was this awful sour flavor. I felt bad and drank it and was not about to ask it off the bill because they were so kind about everything. The drink ended up only being nine dollars and I genuinely wonder if they undercharged me, but I felt a lot better that that's all I paid for it. Aesthetically it was beautiful, but it tasted horrible. I tried my friends drink, which was a play on a margarita with Mezcal, and that was also incredibly bitter and sour. I'm not someone who needs disgustingly sweet drinks, hence me not liking rum, but I do need a balance of sweetness with the other flavors. My friend thought her drink was OK, but she said she wouldn't order it again. I would definitely give this location another shot if I could figure out a drink that would work, but it seems their drinks either are very sour or very sweet and I'm hoping that at some point they will be able to find a good balance between the two.

The Laundry Room is dead, long live the Laundry Room. The remodel that took place during Jan to May 2026 saw a wide amount of change from Corner Management, the mother company of LR. They got rid of the absolute corner stone of the lead bartender, Anthony, and redecorated the place to look more like the sister bar, Doberman Drawing Room (5 Stars). The remodel was absolutely needed, as the regulars and Dean's List could point out, the place was kind of falling apart. From water warped bar top, uncomfortable chairs, and chipped paint/worned carpet, you would think this place WAS left over from the Prohibition era. What sets this establishment apart from any of the pretend speakeasy on the strip is the atmosphere. At any given time, you could cram 16 people there at a time, even with the reduced drinking time cut from 2 hours to 90 minutes, this place could only cycle thru 50 to 60 people from the reduced nightly opening of 4 hours from 6 hours previously. This make LR special, not some faux speakeasy in Cosmo or Resort World that could jam in 80 people per hour with room to spare. Gone is the rugged identity of the old laundry room for El Cortez, this is spiced up, every square inch of the wall is covered with some art piece, very much different from the Depression era decor. Some art selection are just straight up chaos from the management, the main cherub piece behind the bar is just insanity. The new master of house, Davey, showed skills with his new 14 drink menu, but fell short of what made LR great in the past 14 years. Now, the man had just two months to create his drink list and per himself, had to start from the scratch from when he took over.. So, with that said, let's focus on the drinks. Hemingway Dalguiri, Dust + Ether, and High Noon Static - all great in taste, presentation, and talent, abet we can see the hesitation when making his own drinks, thus slowing down service by quite a bit. My party saw him struggle making 6 drinks at once, 4 of them the same drinks. Recommendation from someone else, maybe record the drink making process and try to eliminate non productive habits and motions via video viewing. Since Davey is a visionary, looking in the past is a deal breaker for him. If you are trying to finish up a previous menu for the Dean's List, the joke is on you, that is a no. Where the hostess (the only person that survived the purge from the remodel) explained to him that exception needs to happen to keep the Dean's List going, the answer was a no since no one at management told him about this. When asked about what will the new requirements will be for the future, it's simple, finish the menu before it's replaced with no chance of catching up. Once a menu is done, it's done. I guess it's easier to keep the drinks under control with less ingrediencies needed behind the bar, but wait a minute... drink number 15, Research and Development, that should give Davey some leeway to non menu drinks right? Turns out, not so much. Sidecar- cognac, orange liqueur, lemon juice. Simple right? He leaves the room to get something from Commonwealth... didn't management installed a new fridge to hold the larger ice cubes, where previous bar keep have to venture out all the time? Turns out, there was no Cognac or any Brandy in the Laundry Room. I can see how things are shaped, strict bottle control is for the benefit of the bar, not for the customer. There is now Vodka, foam, and milk wash but lost Cognac or Brandy, but besides the freedom of choices were also compounded with complete lack of rules. For the last 14 years, the hostess and bar staff on rotation were friendly yet firm about house rules. First given upon entering the secret or window doors, then by the bartender after an aperitif is given (now eliminated). No photo, religion, politic, standing at the bar, name dropping, brawling, telephone calls, PDA, and smoking, plus don't be creepy, be patient, and know your limit. Most of these were not enforced the first 2 times my party of regulars have visited since the remodel. The cardinal sin of allowing one single 4 top to seat 2 people at a time is just wild. But hey, no rules are listed on the new simple menu and none giving at the door or at the seats. So what is this place now? 20 to 23 dollars for a drink plus more for popcorn. All for the experience of being in a noise warfare between Commonwealth and La Mona Rosa's speaker systems, with LR's own music turned up high, and the piano only used one night of the week. I would recommend Doberman Drawing Room as of now for better drinks options, less noise, and vibe. The new menu to replace Fear and Laundry will come out this Fall, will be bring some regulars with me to check on LR again and hopefully give more than 2 stars on the next review.

Bartenders were friendly, knew their stuff, and the drink specials were solid. We stuck to the cocktails and they were excellent, strong, balanced, and exactly what you want in a proper tiki bar. They do have food, though we didn't try any this time. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is a fun spot to duck into with friends or family and disappear into some full on tiki madness for a while. Definitely worth the short trip off the Strip.

It was a very unique vibe with cool paintings and couches to sit at, it is closed up tight so you are enclosed and cut off from the outside so relaxing ambiance. SHANA SPEAKS: My husband and i were in the arts district ro see a show at the Majestic Repertoire Theater. We arrived early and saw Velveteen Rabbit across the street. I'd seen that bar appear on a few "best of" lists for mocktails in Vegas, so we decided to try it out since we had time. First impression: the place is cute as hell. Plush seating, moody lighting, amazing decor. It's the kind of place to have a chill date or even go solo and bring a book. My husband and I took seats at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender. When we inquired about mocktails he had several recommendations for us. We each picked a different drink (unfortunately I do not remember their names) and he set to work preparing them. Our drinks were attractive and delicious! If you are someone who enjoys artful cocktails and are off the booze, I highly recommend Velveteen Rabbit. They have earned their place on the "best of" lists. Their mocktails are crafted with pride and care. The service is great as well, you are seated and everyone is great.

The atmosphere immediately took my wife and me back to our early adult years in the best possible way. The dim lighting, mellow crowd, and music all worked together perfectly, and somehow the playlist felt like it matched the crafted cocktails and overall vibe of the room. One of the things we appreciated most was being able to actually sit together and have a conversation without having to yell over loud music or a packed crowd. It felt relaxed, mature, and genuinely enjoyable--a breath of fresh air compared with so many bars that seem focused more on being loud than creating a good atmosphere. The cocktails were excellent, the bartenders were top-notch, and the entire experience felt thoughtful from beginning to end. If you're looking for a place with a mature vibe, great drinks, good music, and an atmosphere where you can actually enjoy the person you're with, Velveteen Rabbit is a must-visit.

You'll walk in and even guys will say, wow. We came in on a very busy weekend with a group of seven and we had a reservation. The host greeted us with smiles and walked us inside, towards the back where we had a view of nearly the entire space. Shortly after being seated our server Veronica came over and she welcomed us and told us a little about the menu. We had dinner reservations so we didn't eat anything but we all had a cocktail and they were all great, with everyone happy. Drinks are expensive and will cost you around $25 per person but I have to say that the environment and service is top notch and even though I like to complain about high strip prices, I'm not complaining about this place. I would come back here for date night or girls night out anytime and not feel bad about the prices because this place is done up in such an amazing way. I will come back to eat something here as well because the table next to us was raving about the food.

We invited two friends and we had separate reservations but they were able to seat us together! We enjoyed the welcome cocktail, which was tequila based and presented in a coconut kinda thing that was overflowing with dry ice for effects. So fun. They gave us these books for menus! Each cocktail had a story like description and a gorgeous photo. They have two parts to the cocktail menu, with the back end ha I g market price cocktails. Watch out! The market price old fashioned was $295 due to the vintage old forester in it. The cheapest cocktail I saw was $38, the velvet moon, which my husband has had many times. He had it again, as his second cocktail, so that I would try it; it is so good. His first cocktail was the Passion's Serenade $45. What a cool idea and it was tasty. Most drinks were around $60. I took my time and ordered the Liberty's Torch. I had no idea they would bring the elements to the table and make it right in front of me! Wow! My second cocktail was the Maison de Luxe $70. Our friends had the velvet moon as well! And they had some sort of Mexican style drink like a cantarito which came with a little sombrero hat that they got to keep! I was impressed that they brought a second snack set for our friends who joined us a little late. I was glad I could eat everything and not have to share! Haha This place is so unique but very expensive. We asked for the check so we could get on to dinner and they surprised us with four gelatin shots! Thank you! We will be back.
