Emily, our server, was excellent. She was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the music the DJ was playing. He has people dancing as they walked in. Stars of the meal: Raw oysters. There's a limit of 24. We're not sure if that's 24 per person or 24 for the table. My husband paced himself and had them bring them out: 12, 6 then 6. Lol Salmon Crude - very fresh and flavorful. Truffle pizza - delicious! Bottomless drinks - "enjoy them all" We had mimosas, the Rose', Bloody Mary, then took 2 drinks to go. Not so great: Chicken parmigiana. It was just average. We ate most of it because we didn't want to waste food. Portions are pretty sizable. Pace yourself. Lol Emily told us which ones to have as shareables. First- be AWARE this is a LOUD restaurant with a DJ playing and a large TV showing sports games during dinner. Not the fine, romantic Italian restaurant I thought we were going to from the Open Table review summary I should have read more reviews!) That being said, we were greeted nicely and shown a table within 5 minutes even though we arrived almost 30 minutes early for our reservation. Our server was sweet although we only saw her a few times as others bring the food. The assorted focaccia and pickle g vegetables sent out "by the chef " were nice, but the appetizer arrived so quickly after that, we did have time to enjoy- compounded by our entrees coming out before we had finished our appetizer. The appetizer, a "one pound meatball " was the highlight of the meal-well seasoned and tender. My husband was asked if everything was okay, but I had just taken a bite of the chicken Parmesan and it was completely burnt (black) but the server didn't turn to me and left as my husband responded so I had no opportunity to say anything. No one asked why we left a large amount of entrees and just quickly cleared the plates. We never noticed a manager or I would have mentioned something. As we are celebrating our anniversary, they nicely brought over a complementary piece of Italian rainbow style cake with a candle and "Happy Anniversary " which we definitely appreciated. Come to Lavo with a lot of time, patience, and low expectations! Food itself was hit or miss, mostly miss. Waffles were super dry. French toast was drowned in so much sugary topping you couldn't taste the toast at all. Eggs were whipped and actually tasted fine, that's a genuine plus. Bread basket was flavorless and dry, didn't matter which spread you used. Desserts: red velvet, chocolate cake, all dry, like they'd been sitting out. Chicken dishes were salty and dry at the same time, not a good combo. Pasta was cooked al dente right but had basically no sauce, just big chunks of cheese sitting on noodles. Pizza was fine, nothing special. Burger I'd actively tell you to skip, meat was overcooked. On top of that, at $65 a person you're waving your arms down just to get a server's attention, they forget what you ordered, and each round takes 10-15 min. After last call it was another 20-30 min for dessert and the check. Steak and eggs and other premium items cost extra on top of the $65 too, and it's not small: $50-120 more. Between the food and the service, this is a 2 star spot on its best day. Wouldn't go back. If you want AYCE brunch in Vegas, Wicked Spoon at the Cosmo does it better on every front. read more

We love to get dishes and eat family style so we can try different items. A must to get is the pancakes and French toast. So delicious! Brunch also comes with a round of oysters. Great way to try something new if you've never had them. There are a few items that you can purchase for an extra fee. Splurge and get the caviar deviled eggs and meatball. They are to die for. Don't forget to save room for the full dessert bar. The variety is good and it doesn't disappoint. Each time we've come the service has been amazing, friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Definitely not my favorite place to eat ayce for $65 brunch. I thought it was pretty average for what it was and the food seemed okay at best. It also took forever to come out so keep that in mind if you're used to eating at other ayce places. There are definitely way better ayce places that I would recommend. For the main topic of food, everything I had was pretty bland. Don't let the pictures fool you. Everything lacked a lot of flavor and it all seemed very inconsistent. I think I would've enjoyed going to a buffet instead. Out of all the dishes I had, the only non cooked meal I enjoyed the most were the oysters. I thought they were pretty fresh. ENDLESS BRUNCH REVIEW: Located inside the Palazzo, Lavo's endless brunch is from 10am-2pm Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations highly recommended, and the best time to get there is 15-20 minutes before opening. Alexis was our server and she was a ROCKSTAR! It is a well lit spacious venue and there was also a DJ playing a great variety of tunes. Food variety and choices are plentiful, I really feel you don't need to even worry about the "additional charge" items. Standouts for me were the Artisinal breads and breakfast pastries with the spread assortment, both the beet and Caesar salads and all the raw bar items-Raw oysters, Salmon Crudo, and Tuna Tartare. Brunch menu items are all made to order and keep in mind that they are FULL SIZED PORTIONS! Faves were the Polenta Pancakes, Eggs Benedict and Chicken and Waffles. What a great deal! Not only is Alex outstanding at her job, but the way she orchestrated the entire experience was unforgettable. As locals, the strip can be a nuisance but the palazzo is a different place. We waited more than 45 minutes just to receive a bread basket, and our waitress was largely inattentive throughout the meal. She walked by our table multiple times without acknowledging us, and even forgot to put in my sangria order. To make matters worse, several tables that were seated after us were served and eating before we ever received our food. We also noticed another table speaking with a manager about similar issues with the wait and service, so it didn't seem like we were the only ones having this experience. The one bright spot was Joe. After talking to the hostess I asked her if she had a dairy free noodle and a gluten-free noodle and they have both options available at this restaurant. For dinner this evening I decided to get the spaghetti with olive oil and marinara which is a dairy and an egg free noodle and my friend Mat decided to get the margarita pizza with a gluten-free crust we haven't gotten food yet, but we did get a complementary seasonal veggie platter from the shop and I did get my drink, which is the Velvet Petal. The ambience and decor reminds me of something really casual and upscale at the same time. The decor of the brick walls and lanterns, the flowing curtains, and the ambience lighting, makes the restaurant very romantic along with the fresh herbs and greenery. There is a lovely gentleman who came over with a tray of fresh, fruit, grapefruit, lime, lemon, and watermelon for our waters, and he placed the lemon slices from the tongs into our glasses. There is also another lovely lady who I believe is our server she brought me my cocktail. Her name is Brittney and she's outstanding. The best thing I liked about this place is the bread service. The rest of the food is very mediocre. You can select a variety of breads and spreads to start and they'll bring the bread in a basket along with the spreads you chose. The presentation is very nice and all the breads were delicious. We ordered oysters, salmon crudo, tuna tartare, eggs benedict, pistachio French toast, sheep's milk ricotta waffles, pappardelle veal bolognese, and tiramisu. The waffles were rather dry and thick. The bananas on top were good, but the topping to waffle ratio was not enough, so it was rough to finish. The pistachio French toast was delicious. It was not too sweet. The osyters were decent. The salmon crudo was very good with the lemon flavor. The tuna tartare was a bit fishy and was bland. The eggs Benedict also lacked flavor, most of the flavor came from the porchetta. The hollandaise sauce didn't have much flavor to it, which I feel like typically should be the star of eggs Benedict.The pappardelle veal bolognese was good, but it was under seasoned. Made reservations for Lavo for a Wednesday evening and glad we did. There were multiple conventions in town and a line out the door of people hoping to get in. Once we checked in, our table was ready on time. A lovely lady in an amazing black dress seated us. They have a nice bar area, and a couple different seating areas. Generally the restaurant is lowly lighted, but somehow we ended up at a table with better lighting than many other tables - so we were very happy. They have limited Pepsi products - no Mountain Dew. Their specialty cocktails on menu can all be done as adult or nonalcoholic. They do have complimentary bread and vegetables. Their Fritto Misto was cooked perfectly. We of course had to get "The Meat Ball" - their monster 1 pound meatball. The Jumbo Shrimp Scampi was a healthy serving of 8 pieces and was prepared perfectly! The Reginette Seafood Alfredo has both sweet scallops and shrimp. I got it with a lobster tail - which was okay, but I would've been fine without the tail. The Alfred sauce was somehow a lighter preparation and not a heavy Alfredo. We ended the night with a Tiramisu, NY style Cheesecake and some sorbet. I went for a birthday brunch at the Party Brunch on a Saturday, and it was definitely an experience. The patio has a $500 minimum, but you get a bar and a nice view of the Strip. Inside is a whole different vibe with a $1,000 minimum and up, a bigger DJ setup, and dancers who change into these super elaborate costumes throughout the afternoon. The menu is on the pricier side, so hitting the minimum really isn't hard. We tried the wagyu sliders, avocado croissant, calamari, shrimp cocktail and the benedict very good food. This is the kind of place where sharing with the table is the way to go so you can taste a little bit of everything. My random favorite part? The rainfall faucets in the bathroom. On Saturday, June 20th, my husband and I had a 7:15 p.m. reservation at LAVO to celebrate my birthday. At 7:00 p.m., we called the restaurant to let them know we might be running a few minutes late due to Las Vegas traffic. The hostess informed us that there was a 15-minute grace period for reservations, which is standard at most higher-end restaurants. We arrived approximately 7 minutes after our reservation time--well within that grace period. Unfortunately, we were greeted by a cold, unfriendly hostess who displayed absolutely no sense of hospitality. I regret not getting her name, but she should not be working in customer service. She was a short Hispanic woman dressed in black working behind the host stand computer. Zero warmth, zero professionalism, and zero customer service. To make matters worse, we were then forced to wait an additional 20 minutes before being seated while other parties were sat ahead of us. If tables are held for 15 minutes after a reservation time, why should guests who arrive within that window be made to wait another 20 minutes? It completely defeats the purpose of having a reservation. Because of the delay, we had to rush through dinner in order to make our show. We ended up taking our main courses to go, so I can't fully review the food. However, the Caesar salad was disappointing--overdressed and soggy. The complimentary focaccia wasn't worth the calories. My husband later tried his chicken parmesan and commented that mine at home is better, and I use Rao's jarred sauce. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing birthday dinner. I'm from Los Angeles, where the hospitality and food standards are far superior. I don't mind spending money for a quality dining experience--we regularly spend far more than $150 on dinner--but when you're operating a high-end restaurant inside a luxury hotel, the service and food should reflect that standard. Shared a few appetizers: - the meatball: this was very good, not sure why some reviews slam it down. Perhaps, too hyped? - burrata: this was tough for a burrata and wouldn't get again - eggplant parm: decent Branzino: seasoned so well with lemon slices in the middle. Top tier branzino dish. It didn't need the lemon butter sauce. NY cheesecake: classic and decent 20 layer chocolate cake: huge. While decadent, not as sweet as it looks. Strong peanut butter flavor in the cream. read more

I did a group dinner here recently and in the end, it went very well. When I got there, I found out our group of 20 was in the main dining room even though I had work with the sales manager (who was now on maternity leave) to be put on the outside patio. The hostess was rude to me and not very accommodating. Luckily the restaurant manager stepped in and made it happen. We had a wonderful table on the outside patio and our waitress and other staff were amazing. We had pre-arranged the food and everything was served family style. Everything was delicious. Antipasti: Margherita pizza Crispy fried calamari The meatball with whipped fresh ricotta - so tasty! Salad: Classic Caesar - I don't normally like Caesar salad but this was very good. The dressing was not too garlicy or anchovie-forward. Entree: Penne alla vodka - this was delicious Chicken parmigiano - very thin pieces of chicken with lots of cheese on top grilled branzino Center cut fillet - very tender beef, nicely cooked Sides: Steamed broccoli Mixed wild mushrooms - yum! Crispy Smashed Fingerling potatoes - so good! Dessert -these were the best part of the meal! chocolate & peanut butter cake - so many layers but not super heavy cheesecake Deep fried Oreos - delicious and I don't live Oreos Vanilla gelato - so good to dip the Oreos in Overall a wonderful meal! Five stars all the way for Lavo. From start to finish, everything was spot on! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided quality recommendations. I offered the LAVO-Lini cocktail per her recommendation and it was exactly as described: fruity, bright, and refreshing. We started with the garlic bread paired with basil pesto, marinara, and gorgonzola dolce. A simple starter, but done exceptionally well. For my main, I had the Brick Oven Salmon Oreganato and it was perfectly cooked with a flavorful garlic butter. One of the best salmon dishes I've had in a while! Overall, an exceptional experience at Lavo and I can't wait to return on my next Vegas trip. read more
