We had a great time on Monday night around 730pm in the outdoor area. The ambiance is modern and updated but casual enough that you can have an impromptu meal. While it did take us a very long time to get water, the rest of the service was great. We ordered the truffle garlic bread which is a must! It's so buttery and cheesy. I had the Sunday night lasagna and it was a great ratio of meat, cheese and sauce. Not pictured was the hazelnut tort and you HAVE to try it! The Nutella and gelato is house made and wonderfully creamy with some nice burnt texture bits. Great spot! read more

North has been great over the years, but a recent visit was very disappointing. Had a lunch reservation on Saturday afternoon for 7 of us. It was not crazy busy and there were lot of empty tables inside the restaurant. Food took an extremely long time. We asked our server multiple times and he kept assuring us it was coming soon. The assistant manager finally came out to apologize and say "Most of your food is ready. One of the pizzas has about 6 more minutes, would you like the rest to come out now?" We said sure, especially because our kids were starving at this point. My salad came out with no dressing on it and my friend's pasta dish was cold. We had to wait for the server to come back again. He brought me out a teeny cup of dressing and swapped out the pasta. It then took 10+ minutes for the final pizza to come out. In the meantime, my other friend was waiting on a cocktail that never arrived, and we eventually canceled it. Nothing was taken off the check, nothing else was said to us or addressed. I've always wanted to try North Italia and heard nothing but positive comments. We were on this side of town and finally decided to come here for dinner last minute on a normal weekend night. We didn't have reservations but luckily they were able to seat us within less than 10 min. I would expect needing reservations during holidays, but if it's a typical day, you should be fine. No complimentary bread, we were fine with that but just an FYI. We ordered the following: Shrimp Scampi: great appetizer item! Plentiful portion with BIGGGG pieces of shrimp. Scampi butter was pippin hot and pieces of garlic were delicious! I'm not a bread person but it's soooo good to dip the bread in that hot buttery garlic sauce. Chicken Parmesan: it was either this or my weakness, pesto pasta. But I was craving chicken parm and this absolutely did not disappoint. I loved how it came with a side of alfredo penne. Normally at other Italian restaurants, it's a side of plain ol red sauce spaghetti. Solid entree! I would totally get this again. Plus portion was big enough for me to have leftovers for lunch the next day. How perfect. Crushed Meatball Ragu Pasta: husband really enjoyed it. I couldn't help myself and had a few bites myself. Big chunks of meatball ragu as well as sausages (?). Flavorful without being overly salted. Once again, portion was big enough for leftovers. Food's pretty solid. We got the fig & prosciutto pizza, which had a chewy and crispy crust, tons of arugula, and actual figs instead of a jam. The bolognese was great too, with the fresh pasta and a really flavorful ragù. My husband & I come here when we KNOW we're going to get excellent food. There is no comparison in my opinion! Our date night was extra enjoyable, as we ordered the House-Made Foccacia Bread ($12). It was absolutely incredible. Fresh, soft, flavorful, perfectly proportioned for two. The waiter shared with us that it is a labor intensive process & a guest favorite. Now we see why! First time trying North Italia and it was a great experience. We were seated immediately with no reservation on a Tuesday night. We opted to sit outside since the weather is cooling down. I love how their outdoor seating is fully heated. Definitely feels great for the cold nights we get here. Our waitress was Sierra and she was amazing. She checked on us regularly, and was sure to ask us of any allergies and make suggestions for substitutions. We started with red wine and the House-made Focaccia. The focaccia was delicious and perfectly airy, the flavor was very simple and the oil and vinegar paired well. For our entree's I had the Ricotta Cavatelli but due to a gluten intolerance I subbed for GF pasta, they also had a veggie pasta option. The meal was delicious even with the substitution. There was a generous amount of crab and shrimp and a light oil based sauce on the dish. It was very light and fulfilling. My fiancé ordered the Spicy Rigatoni and enjoyed her meal as well. We were offered a complimentary dessert for it being our first time dining in which I thought was really cool. We decided to opt out due to being satisfied with what we had. For me meal I had the poached egg polenta. I have never had anything like this before and I was impressed. My spouse had the pizza and he could not even finish it. The restaurant is located near Boca Park, surrounded by many other dining options, with plenty of parking available. Inside, it's spacious with high ceilings and dim lighting, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. The wine was average, nothing memorable. The appetizers and desserts stood out--they were excellent. Unfortunately, the pasta fell short. The sauce was creamy but lacked depth of flavor, and overall, the pasta was just okay rather than exceptional. I gave three stars because the quality of the pasta didn't justify its price. Service was attentive; my server checked in often and made sure I had what I needed. Overall, while some dishes impressed me, I wouldn't recommend North Italia based on the pasta, which should be the highlight of any Italian restaurant. read more

I don't frequent this restaurant and actually the last two times were a disaster. This past Friday being the absolute worst. I had a reservation at 12:45 taking my adult daughter shopping and lunch for her birthday. We were seated outside as requested but sticking us in the corner ended up being quite a negative experience. Our server, don't remember her name, obviously doesn't think that two ladies having lunch deserve to receive outstanding service. So sorry for her because both my daughter and I have worked for a long time in the tipping industry. And believe me I go above and beyond when the service is good. I tip based on the service not on the food so there's that. It took us about five minutes to have someone bring us water and then at least another 7 to 10 minutes for us to put in a wine order. It took another five minutes for the wine to be delivered and upon delivery, they brought me out the wrong wine. Hard to imagine that you can't tell the difference between a Chardonnay and a rosé, but they couldn't. Honestly, it took forever for a glass to appear on the table and then forever more for the wine to show up to go in that glass. I'm like what is happening here. Honestly, they wouldn't have been able to reserve that rosé and they should've just left that there until they brought me out the correct beverage. I mean when you're spending that much money on a glass of wine it should be right. I ordered a salad and my daughter ordered a chicken Parm sandwich which we eventually had to send back because the bun was greasy and the chicken was way overcooked. In my salad, I had chunks of radicchio that were literally chunks. We were so disenchanted by this whole experience that we didn't even agree to a free dessert to celebrate her birthday. We were over this restaurant. To the business owner get it right. You have a primo location and a pretty simple menu. It's really sad when you have a special outing planned with your daughter and it turns into a disaster. read more

North Italia, interestingly enough, started in Arizona. I've visited the Vegas location a few times, and I also tried the one in Irvine long before the Vegas location opened. We came to North Italia on a Tuesday evening around 6:30 PM and was honestly surprised by how packed it was The interior is spacious and there's also a patio available if you prefer outdoor seating. We ordered a variety of items, including the mussels, calamari, Bolognese, and chicken parmesan, and we enjoyed all of those dishes. Unfortunately, the avocado and arugula salad was a huge letdown. It was extremely skimpy -- just a small handful of arugula with a few sad pieces of avocado, some lemon juice, and dressing. For the price point, it felt careless and not thoughtfully put together at all. Service was a bit mixed. Our waitress was pleasant, but she was hard to find. Whether we needed more water or an extra set of silverware, she didn't come around very often. That said, when we asked other staff members for help everyone else was very kind and quick to assist. Indoor and outdoor seating were full and there was a lot of chatter and laughter in the air! We decided on ordering from the Restaurant Week menu, which included a Starter, Entree, and Dessert for $50/pp. I ordered the Little Gem Caesar, Lumache Alla Norcina, and Tahitian Vanilla Panna Cotta. Plus a Red Sangria. Everything was absolutely delicious and I would return in a heartbeat to order the same exact set! Lol. Took a guest for brunch to one of my favorite restaurants. Only one person was at the front "desk" and we had to wait at least 15 minutes while she had to answer phones and try to seat guests. They were NOT busy yet, but people had started to walk in after 10:30AM and were starting to line up to be seated. Can't seat people and answer phones at the same time. They need two people up front. Nothing ruins a restaurant experience like bad service. Our waitress acted like it was such a chore to even be present. Took forever to get our cocktails (I repeat, that they were not busy yet). When one appetizer finally arrived, they didn't even bring plates. Took quite a while to flag someone down to get plates so we could eat the appetizer. When entrees arrived, no new small plates or clean silverware were given to us. Again, took forever to flag down our waitress who eventually just dumped two plates and two extra silverware settings on the table and walked away. We never even got asked if we wanted another cocktail. If I go back for lunch or dinner, at least I know what server not to get. Even the servers who just delivered the food were clueless. read more
