Delicious Italian food at the cosmopolitan on the 3rd floor. We were happy with the service and the taste of the dishes we chose. An added bonus is if you dine in the evening during the bellagio water fountain show and score a table by the window with a view. This was the first time I had a bread basket where the assortment had bread rolls with meat and spread layered in them. I think one bread roll even had pesto! How innovative is that? Drinks and appetizer was good. The pasta is made by hand and was delicious. You can never go wrong with a blackness sauce over Papperdelle. We had the AMEX platinum FHR credit so didn't mind the Vegas resort prices. read more

Went on a random Wednesday in July and it was fairly busy in the main dining room. Even when I was finishing up after 9:30, new tables were still being seated while some of the other restaurants on the same level at Cosmopolitan were ghost towns. I went for the Taste of Scarpetta fixed price menu ($120), which gives you four courses. Everything I had was exemplary and I found the portion sizes perfect. I felt like I had plenty to eat but was still ready to attack the blackjack tables. The tuna crudo with chili oil was delightful and so flavorful. My second course was the famous spaghetti, which I would walk over broken glass for. You might think, oh big hooey, spaghetti. But no. Scarpetta's recipe tastes like a summer's day, as though someone went for a walk in their backyard garden picking tomatoes and herbs. This is a must-get; it's simple but perfect. The main entree was skillfully seared scallops with pea puree and sauteed spring vegetables. Dessert is a small sampling for four different sweets. Service was slick and very capable; the decor is restful and comfortable. It's not as showy as many other places at this resort, but everything is tasteful and upscale, and many of the tables in the main room have a great view of the Bellagio fountains next door. Scarlett's is definitely an upscale Italian restaurant in the Cosmopolitan Hotel. Handmade pastas are definitely a game changer with the Agnolotti made with short rib, bone marrow , garlic, and horseradish, or spaghetti Scarpetta with incredible simple tomato sauce and fresh basil. The Veal Chop Milanese is a stand out and the presentation is picturesque, fried perfectly and cuts like butter. Full wine list with fantastic options and also half bottles of some great wines as well. Waitstaff is professional but they make you feel rushed. Limoncello cheesecake was delectable and a great finish to the dining experience. Great restaurant to try so wouldn't be going back but glad I went. read more

We weren't able to get a window seat as they were fully reserved but I didn't mind the booth seating as a walk in either. Our waiter was attentive and informative. Food came out quick and plates were taken away quickly. Love the assorted bread that they brought over. I was expecting the yellowtail crudo to have a kick to it. Unfortunately, it didn't. The Chilean seabass is always a hit. The texture was soft and they had little bits of sour veggies which I liked. The scampi pasta was good but like ONE prawn?! Just ONE??? Went there for a dinner. I always like scarpetta and this time was no exception about the excellence of the food itself and the service and n ambience. We started with the tomato and Purata salad. It was well dressed, and the tomatoes were fresh and succulent. Liked the multicolor aspect. The bread was a nice variety of different bread, including some cheese and salami. We also have the Arancini, which was cooked perfectly a beautiful brown sauce in a beautiful Brown sauce The entrée was the signature dish of pasta Pomodoro and it was excellent as always. The bread came in handy to wipe up the sauce. For dessert we shared the Panko Panna cotta Another terrific experience I highly recommend this place. read more

We were greeted by a friendly hostess who brought us to a table with a partial view of the Bellagio fountains. First off a complimentary bread basket with side condiments was placed on table. Next our appie of fried calamari came, lightly battered, crispy and moist inside...enjoyable For mains...Scallops--4 fairly big sized scallops sitting on a bed of lightly whipped pea sauce. We've made it a tradition to dine here on nearly every trip to Las Vegas, but this past Friday night's visit was nothing like the Scarpetta we've come to know and love. We started with our usual grilled octopus, which unfortunately was dry, chewy, and lacked the flavor we remembered. The short rib arancini was equally disappointing--it was dry, and the short rib filling was virtually nonexistent. The only highlights of the meal were the bread basket and the short rib agnolotti, both of which were excellent and lived up to our expectations. To make matters worse, the table next to us brought in a small dog. I'm a dog lover and even take my own dog to pet-friendly places, but unless it's a legitimate service animal, I don't believe it belongs in what's meant to be a fine dining experience. This was clearly not a service animal, and it distracted from what was already a disappointing evening. After so many wonderful experiences here over the years, this was the first time we've left truly disappointed. I sincerely hope this was just an off night, because Scarpetta has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas. read more

The ambiance was nice and high class. It had a huge bar area and there are seats viewing the fountain if you want. Service was good. Our waiter kept checking on us to see if we were good. The server bringing our food also was nice. The food was good. I ordered the scampi and my fiancé order the duck ravioli. Both were good and the bread was good too. We got a bunch of different breads. I really liked their gelato. We got these pastry things with a scoop of their banana gelato and the gelato was super yummy. The water was room temp. Small Italian restaurant at The Cosmopolitan. The view was good if you get a chance to see the Bellagio fountain show from your seat, and service was fast. It's a smaller restaurant than others. Limited vegetarian options: spaghetti, gnocchi, and the tableside pasta for two. Prices are steep for pasta. The truffles were blended into the sauce, and if I'm paying a premium for pasta, I want to see the truffles shaved on it. The flavor profile was good but not a restaurant I would be returning to. Apparently the spaghetti is a go-to for people, but it's something I make homemade, so I didn't order it. The braised lamb shank was also ordered and not really enjoyed. I stopped in here for a quick dinner. Since I was dinning alone tonight the options were bar seating only. I came early so there was plenty of space and the bar filled quickly. The menu has many options and everything sounded delicious. I very much enjoyed the Cesar salad the charred lemon added a burst of citrus to the salad and it was lovely. The Sea Bass was cooked perfectly, but that sauce they topped it with was outstanding. It was light and I can't exactly describe the flavors, but an enhancement it was. The only dish I didn't love was the gnocchi. The pasta itself lacked texture it was a little too soft for me, but flavor profile was excellent. As most places in Vegas I recommend a reservation. The bar was extremely busy and the bartender had many rotating guests grabbing drinks so service lacked but understandably so. This is one of the best hidden gems we came across at cosmo. First, the service was amazing and top tier. The servers are well seasoned and so conversational. My boyfriend treated me to dinner for my birthday weekend here and I was so surprised with how the night went. Our server even split one of our pasta dishes into two plates to share! I thought that was thoughtful of them since they pointed out that we might be swapping and sharing our food. The view made the experience amazing. I will note that I thought we would receive a complimentary dessert for my birthday celebration that day. I noticed that other reviews stated that they received this and a birthday candle. The calamari fritti was crispy and served with a spicy marinara and aioli dipping sauces. Veal Milanese was tender, and served with a topping of arugula and parmesan slivers, simple but expertly prepared. The gnocchi was served with a mushroom brown butter sauce, very tender and melt in your mouth. The scallops were also tasty, well cooked. The big flavor bomb was the polenta with mushroom fricassee, the polenta by itself was great but the addition of the mushroom sauce elevated it. Worth a visit just to try this dish. A variety of warm and savory bread - You read that correctly, complimentary - First Class! I ordered : Beef Carpaccio - 5*. The perfect bite of paper thin beef, arugula, caper and crouton. Cleaned the plate. Calamari Fritt - 5*. Hot, crispy - not chewy - with two dipping sauces. A very large portion, definitely meant to share, I couldn't clean that plate! Cavatelli with lamb ragu - 5*. Best pasta I've ever put in my mouth! Thanks to my waiter who chose this dish. The pasta had the right amount chew with a savory ragu with a depth of flavor that is unmatched. I was so full already I sadly could not do that bowl of heaven justice! I loved the experience so much, I have another reservation for my mother/ daughter trip in April. We were seated in a very private booth that allowed for easy conversation without the background noise of the restaurant. Starting off we ordered a cocktail. Berry Smash and Italian dirty martini. Both were amazing. But hands down the crowd pleaser was the berry smash. Started off with a beet salad. Each roasted to earthy perfection and bread service delivered about same time. Some of the best bread service ever. Focaccia was delicate pillows with light Italian seasonings. We ordered the shrimp scampi, the scampi was with house made fresh pasta the 16oz ribeye with crispy fingerling potatoes. The steak was charred perfectly and the crispy fingerlings are worth ordering the steak for. The potatoes perfectly crisp and just the right amount of seasoning. The atmosphere, the food, the hospitality was at the top. My favorite was the polenta w/ mushrooms. It was pure umame, delectable. And the foie gras ravioli is a must have, unlike nothing I've ever had. It was delicious. For desert, everyone would have to order the chocolate soufle. I'm not much of a chocolate fan ordinarily, but this was the perfect amount of bittersweet. And the caramel sauce that it was lying on was the perfect combination. The ones right in front of the window were reserved, but we had a seat on the row right behind them. We got to watch the Bellagio water show and it was a very peaceful and nice experience. We ordered the Salmon Carpaccio and it was good, but we didn't realize how many olives and capers it had (yikes). As olive haters, this kinda threw us off, but it's our fault for not reading the menu closer. The fish itself was good though after we removed all those olives. The bread basket they give you at first also has great bread. We both ordered the Agnolotti as our main course. It was extremely rich, flavorful, and truly divine. The cheese, the bone marrow, the little dumplings. That's basically what they were. I thought I wouldn't get full eating it, but I couldn't finish. It was extremely rich, in a good way. I loved it. For my wife's 52nd birthday we spent a couple days in Vegas. She's a vegetarian so Italian food tends to be her go to for a fancy meal. Having tried Amalfi, Carmines, and a few other places on the strip on previous trips we went to Yelp and picked somewhere new to us. We made a reservation at Scarpetta which is in the Cosmopolitan (next to Bellagio, where we stayed) on the 3rd floor. In the reservation we noted her birthday as our special occasion. From the moment we checked in we were treated like VIP's with an enthusiastic "Happy Birthday" and quickly taken to a nice table with a Bellagio fountain view (although we would've loved being right next to the window), Our waiter was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the bread for the table which included sourdough, abd a couple types of focaccia. For dinner we decided to share the TABLESIDE PACCHERI PASTA (for two). We were a little reluctant due to the truffle which we kind of got burnt out on the last few years with all the truffle soy and hot sauces, but we went for it. Boy were we glad we did! The tableside preparation was such a wonderful touch with a knowledgeable chef explaining every ingredient and expertly preparing and plating the meal then telling us the toasted sourdough was perfect to "scarpetta" the extra sauce. OMG the hand made pasta was perfect and this was the best cream sauce either of us has ever had. We were reminded that fresh, quality black truffle is in a category of its own and not to be compared to the stuff that ends up in mass produced sauces at the grocery store. For dessert we shared the AMEDEI CHOCOLATE CAKE which they made extra special for her birthday. The cake was made to order and still hot at its center with a brownie-like density and edges. The Amaretto gelato was a perfect complement and the salted caramel sauce was rich, buttery and perfect. We will be back! Save us a window seat! read more

Me and a couple of friends dined at Scarpetta and unfortunately the experience was pretty mediocre. Our server, Leo, could have done much better. We waited about 15 minutes just to get water and had to continuously track him down when we were ready to place our order, which made the dining experience feel more frustrating than relaxing. For appetizers, we ordered the carpaccio, oysters, and yellowtail. The yellowtail was actually pretty good, but the rest were very mid and didn't really stand out. For my entrée, I had the scallops, which were undercooked and disappointing, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. The atmosphere was okay and had potential, but better service would have made it much easier to enjoy. On a positive note, the drinks were good and probably the highlight of the night. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it definitely didn't live up to expectations. read more
