It's the end of September now. We decided to use Sharon's services starting in April and the remodeling for our condo is still incomplete, which means she's dragged this ordeal out for over 6 months. Sharon's been questionable since Day 1: 1st appointment: Arrives 20 minutes late, then fails to complete a thorough assessment of the dimensions of our condo. Hence, it's free. 2nd appt: Appears 2hrs and 35 minutes early then blames us over the phone that we were not ready to see her. 3rd appt: 30 minutes late. Refuses to sign any form of a legitimate contract and instead offers an estimate, which she has now been using as leverage against our demands to this day, and wouldn't start work until we deposited 80% as collateral. As unbelievable as it may sound, she continued to appear either an hour before or after the scheduled appointment time. She carries around a planner and I've seen her mark down dates and times for our appointments on numerous occasions, but she doesn't seem to use it. You see, this woman only gives the visage that she's a professional. She's not. She's never appeared on time and I can safely assume she will continue in this unfortunate habit. She was contracted to install stone countertops in the kitchen and bathroom. After we had chosen the material for the new countertops and they began tearing apart the kitchen, she told us that they "completely ran out" (as in, used the last drop) of said material about 50% through the installation process. Not to mention that our kitchen was severely damaged while workers were removing the old countertops. Then she was adamant in wanting us to accept unacceptable work done by the installation crew. The work done was truly amateur i.e. none of the new countertop parts are lined up with the walls, the cutout for the sink does not match our sink's dimensions, there are deep chisel marks and cuts all along the kitchen walls where they removed the original countertops. After a lengthy push-pull from outside parties, we were finally able to get her to install the rest of the kitchen after she magically "found some more" of said material. Work on our small kitchen dragged out for over two months. She's also originally contracted to re-install the bathroom countertops with the same material, but she still hasn't replied to any of our inquiries about that. Tragedy cont... - Through her services, we've had new blinds installed on all the windows. The blinds we received were so un-ergonomic (all of the blinds are uneven) that even the guy installing them said "I can't believe you're supposed to be using these. Be careful..." - We have sliding wooden closet doors in all of our rooms and with the old carpet, they worked. But the new carpet she helped us choose was thicker than the old carpeting. Thus, there was not enough space for the closet doors to be reinstalled once the new carpet was in. So we have sets of large closet doors just lying around the place. She initially offered to trim the doors, then disappeared off the face of the earth. - She also chose a kitchen faucet that was outside of our budget without even consulting us ($110 more than what we were looking for) and it's been working improperly since installation. She also had it installed it without our consent (she likes to do that) and she's refused to replace it despite all of our efforts to reach her about it. She did try to send a plumber to look at it months later, but he ended up being six hours late and had to reschedule for the next day. Then he proceeded to make the already faulty faucet worse than before and said there was nothing else that could be done about it. So the spray head of kitchen faucet is not fixed at all and some parts (i.e., spout and handle) are already loose. She's refused to answer all our calls, texts, and emails since late-July. Not a single thing about this project turned out right. I mentioned that the work she has to do is still unfinished, but because she continues to ignore all forms of communication we've assumed that she just doesn't want to complete the work that she's promised us. Friends, spend the few extra bucks with a reliable source and do yourself a massive favor by avoiding this nightmare. Don't make the same mistake we've made in trusting her to have the customer's best intentions in mind. She fooled us well. Don't get fooled by the name "Equity". The few hundred bucks she might cut you (we had to negotiate for that price too) is in no way worth the 6+ months alone that she's drained from our lives. And she will screw you every step of the way. But hey, maybe you don't mind losing a few thousand dollars. BEWARE. p.s. It looks like "Steve P" (the writer of the nice 5-star review) is coincidentally part of a networking circle that includes Sharon. I don't buy it though and neither should you. Sharon expertly installed my new floors and blinds. She was able to provide me with all the options for my space, and worked within my schedule. When some additional work was necessary she did not hesitate to help me with the issue, over a month after installation. Her crew was considerate and clean. They were referred by a friend We agreed on installing hardwood floor and carpets. This was a presale project and wanted the project to complete in timely manner. They seems to have less knowledge on hardwood floors. They could not even order the right quantity. They not only delayed the start but delayed still further for shortage of floor. The worse is talking to Sharon . She is a rude, arrogant with no professionalism in talking. She threatened me that she would stop my house sale. I wish I had recorded her conversation. I had to be patient as our house was half done and not sure what power she has to stop a house sale. The floor was not as per sample, and one stair had a different color as they had not ordered correct quantity. To wait for the right one they said we would have to wait for one more month. The friend who recommended saw the place and regretted for recommending them. Long story short, they lack in everything and I would NOT recommend them to anyone I wish I could give them a negative star. read more

Sharon and her team at Equity Interiors did a beautiful job painting and re-carpeting my condo. She was friendly and easy to work with, made herself available around my schedule, and made the whole process less daunting. She did such a great job that when she asked if I wanted new blinds or shades to replace the dingy ones the previous owner had left, I had her do shades for the whole condo. We had some tiny hiccups with the shades themselves, and Sharon didn't hesitate to return to fix them. She and her crew are consummate professionals and did high quality work, on time and on budget. Without question one of the worst experiences ever when hiring someone to perform work in our home. Hired this firm to replace carpeting in three bedrooms, when installation issues were encountered in the largest bedroom, the owner was completely uncooperative. Owner provided zero transparency to the process and the manufacturer had to hire an independent consultant to review the installation of the carpet. Ultimately the issue was resolved after the flooring consultant recommended complete replacement; zero assistance from the owner. Think twice before hiring this unscrupulous firm to do anything in your home. read more

Sharon was referred to me by my realtor. We agreed that she would install granite countertops in my kitchen and 2.5 baths; install a new electric cooktop, and update sinks/faucets. Our schedule was challenging but she worked with us. Initial communication was good but once we were locked in it seemed the communication and care diminished. She subcontracted all the work. Granite team installed the stone fine but were very sloppy in finishing touches: hap-hazard or no caulk, paint, or sealant and left cutting marks on stone. They also left stone debris and exposed razor blades on my front lawn where my 3 and 5 year old children play. Installers showed up 2 weeks later to address the marks and clean up the mess which I had already cleaned myself. Another sub-contractor had to come several times to finish the caulking and paint detail left by the first group. The project took 4 weeks with all the back and forth. At the end of it after more than $10K she charged me an additional $250 for "upgraded" faucets which were fairly middle road. I asked if she would consider covering the additional $250 cost considering everything but she would not. Overall the work was completed to an acceptable quality but went over budget and expected timeframe; there was little to no supervision on the quality of sub-contracted work; I had to clean up after her guys myself, and there was no consideration or negotiation to salvage customer satisfaction or experience. read more

Sharon was referred to me by my real estate agent. I was working on my mom's estate and trying to get the house on the market ASAP. I will say Sharon was available to meet our time frame. However, she and I had a disagreement on some work that I swear she said would be done (fixing squeaks in the floor) but she says she never said. Next time I will make sure the contractor writes down exactly what they will do. The installers also dropped the couch damaging the window sill and must have made 3 other dents/holes in the wall, in different places of the house. I understand things happen and Sharon made sure things were patched/fixed but it was very disappointing I had to showed up at the house and found the damage on my own. No one ever contacted me and it felt sneaky, like maybe I wouldn't notice. They did patch everything up though. The last thing that upset me was when they dropped the couch on the window sill they damaged one of the couch legs and didn't offer any financial compensation.... really after everything I shouldn't have had to ask for this it should have been offered. read more
