We had Dreamcatcher remodel my art room. I loved the transparency of their pricing, there were no last minute surprises and the bid, was right on. Everybody that showed up to work on the remodel was friendly and respectful and nice to have around the house. They communicated regularly with information about when they would arrive. They made sure we were able to still work and and live in our spaces even when they were here working. The work they did was phenomena, we couldn't be happier! I helped coordinate a partial kitchen remodel for my partner's mom who we're currently living with. We met with Johnathin and were really excited to have the work done based on his impressive knowledge both of the work we wanted and historical things that might affect the scope of work. Unfortunately the process and the final outcome did not come close to meeting our expectations. Getting Started They weren't able to start for several weeks after we got the quote which is common, but we expected to be contacted for start dates. Instead I had to email and ask when we should expect them to start. We had thought on the first day the guys might tell us what we needed to do in terms of removing things from the space. We were still living in the house and wasn't sure if everything should be removed from the kitchen, if we could keep some things around, things in cabinets, etc. We were never told, so we just slowly moved things out as it seemed necessary. They did use some plastic, however it didn't cover everything and would be loosely put on top of items. Meanwhile, everything became extremely dirty, even with some plastic around, because we asked them to demo an old chimney that was covered in soot. Even though they put up plastic in the doorways, the adjacent hallway that was newly painted and with white wainscoting, also became covered in soot when they took down the chimney. We assumed they would clean it after the project was done, but still asked one night and was told of course it would be cleaned so we didn't ask again. The walls were never cleaned and will need to be re-done completely. During the Remodel Travis, John, and Hai were all very nice and we all got along really well. As expected a remodel is very messy, and we think the guys did their best to clean-up at the end of the day, but we still would spend at least 30 minutes every night cleaning the kitchen, hallway and basement after they left. We also had thought Johnathin would let us know when we needed to pick out things such as flooring, cabinets, appliances, lighting, etc. We had to ask the guys at the house when and how to do this. The cabinets were not ordered as early as they could have been and because of this, the project halted for at least a week and a half (if not two) and we weren't notified. We assumed the guys would still come as there were some smaller things they could have done in the meantime. Not knowing that they weren't coming, each morning we would get up, move our car out of the garage as they would park in front of it each day, try to have breakfast fast before they came, and then would have no one show up. We completely understood that there wasn't a ton of work to do, but the complete lack of communication was disappointing. Finished Work As the work started to get completed, we noticed many things that seemed unfinished due to poor quality. We assumed they would really make things look professional, clean, and as you would expect when you pay for a $30k kitchen remodel. We finally called out some of the things, and they addressed some of what we said, but not all. Finally at one point we were told everything was done and they left. After looking more closely at everything we had concerns about, found they all still looked terrible. Blemishes on the painted walls, outlets and faceplates crooked and not flush, un-sanded drywall, a large bubble of air in the vinyl (which we have found more of) the list could go on and on. My partner, who was infuriated at this point, sent pictures of the terrible quality and asked they come back and address. This process happened at least two more times. During this time when my partner would email Johnathin, for the most part he wouldn't respond and one of the guys would just end up showing up in a day or two for the work. It was very unprofessional to not respond as often as he did. All that was needed was an email saying sorry for the poor work and that someone would come, but he didn't do that. Sadly, we learned that the guys were likely doing their best, but that their standard for quality work was very different from ours. It's very unfortunate to say that we wished we had chosen another company because the overall work quality is very poor. I know they have pictures on their website where the work looks perfect so not sure why our home didn't get the same finishing attention and care the other homes look like they received. read more

Jonathin is one of the most straight forward and honest people you will ever meet. He is extremely knowledgeable about the work he performs. He always takes time to explain the reason behind the build method or materials so you know exactly what you have at the end. He just completed a project on my new home and exceeded every expectation. His pricing is fair, the quotes are well defined and easy to understand. At least with my job we discussed everything, how it was going to be done then I got a line by line estimate. No hidden cost because he is experienced enough to give thorough and accurate pricing. He will always provide ideas or alternative solutions for repairs or upgrades. Most times his alternatives better and cheaper than the original idea. Highly recommended and I interact with him at least monthly now as we remodel various projects inside my new home. read more

Jonathan responded very quickly when I asked for a quote on Yelp. He came to our house and gave some very helpful advices. He was nice and patient when discussing possible approaches to do the project. He came back and gave me an itemized quote after a week. We didn't end up choosing them, but from what I have experienced, I believe they can do the project professionally. I'm not giving a 5 star because their quote was considerably higher than what it could have costed. They offered a quote of $12K including tax and we thought we were not ready to spend that much on this project. We ended up hiring another contractor doing this project and it has completed now. There's more work done than we initially asked DreamCatcher for the quote, but the actual total cost was only less than $3K (that includes labor and material and garbage disposal). Possibly there could be extra value if DreamCatcher had done the job, but given the huge difference in cost, I feel hard to justify it. read more

Agree 100% with everything the previous reviewer has said about Johnathin. He made the entire process very easy for me and my husband. Very reasonable quotes, completed everything on time and no surprise costs. He was very understanding and did not complain when I requested him to provide some additional documents my mortgage company wanted. Mr. Hai worked on the projects in my house, he showed up on time, did an excellent job, answered all my questions, always cleaned up at the end of the day. My husband and I are pleased to write a review on DreamCatcher Remodeling. We hired DreamCatcher (Johnathin Antis, owner) to do an extensive remodel of our 30 year old home. In his initial meeting with us, John listened to our goals for the remodel and was very open to answering our many questions about how he worked, his projected timeframe, payment schedules and qualifications, etc. Johnathin's bid was clear and his transparent process was welcomed. We found Johnathin to be honest, trustworthy, thorough, open to collaboration and knowledgeable in all areas of construction with a high sense of customer service; qualities that are reflected in a crew that meets his standards for excellence. As a bonus for us, Johnathin has a keen eye for color and design, which helped us out immensely with the many decisions we had to make during our remodel. John does not upsell. He listened to us, familiarized himself with our tastes and budget, offered suggestions when asked and even found time to accompany us to choose tile for the bathrooms and kitchen. Our remodel started out as a kitchen, and three bathrooms, a utility room and hardwood flooring. As we saw the quality of his work, we entrusted him to expand our remodel to replace, stain and trim out all of our doors, replace our family room slider and window, oversee the hardwood floor contractor that we wanted to use, improve lighting and upgrade wiring in all rooms, create a bump out in our master bath that I liked on Houzz, and remove half of a wall in our kitchen to increase natural light and give a feeling of spaciousness to the house. His crew was reliable, courteous, thoughtful of the neighbors and of our private space (we were in house during the remodel), on time every day and staggered the work so that there was little to no down time. They cleaned up every day. We couldn't be happier with our 'new home' - and will call on DreamCatcher without hesitation when we rebuild our deck, or have other projects that come up. read more

We had an excellent experience with Jonathan Antis and Dreamcatcher Remodeling. They have helped us with a couple of projects now and we've been 100% satisfied each time. Our first experience was our biggest. Our kitchen and living room were previous separated by a wall making for 2 small rooms and poor lighting. They removed a wall, popped up the ceiling and added recessed lighting. Our home is much brighter and inviting now. And the space is much more useable as a whole. We've received many compliments.
