From the quote which was in the ballpark of 2 other quotes I had received to the help Arie provided with recommendations and guidance for tile, vanity, countertop and fixtures, decisions were easier to make. A general items list was provided from the onset as to LYD's responsibilities to the project which they adhered to the entire time. With Stephen scoping out the steps of the project and Tim here every day of demolition or construction the process flowed smoothly and I never felt that I was left in the dark. Everything they were supposed to do had to be done twice or more. I had to order and pick up supplies constantly due to LYD contractors not measuring and trying to get by with short cuts. I had to order windows three times, a door twice, etc. I spent an unusually large amount of time coming back from work midday to supervise, per their request, bring supplies they had not accounted for, or redirect uninformed subs. I also had to carry and move and return the supplies they screwed up. This was a disaster project and took more than twice as long to finish as quoted. Items were installed that were unsafe (stairway railings) but the kicker when we were finally done: they screwed a toilet paper holder into our brand new vanity making it impossible to open the drawers without damaging it as well as too close so that we cannot put a roll on the holder. This is a daily reminder of how they screwed up our entire remodel that should have been an easy basement flip. ($200k+ and under 800sf) They fired the Supervisor halfway through our job for incompetency, but did not fix what they had already screwed up and now the flooring they put down is coming up in places. Absolute disaster and unpleasant experience. Don't trust his videos of "happy customers" he will show you on his phone or iPad when he comes to sell to you. It's all a scam. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience. From the beginning, the consultation was disappointing. The meeting lasted nearly three hours, and the estimate I received for my kitchen remodel was approximately 3-4 times higher than the quotes I had already received from other contractors. I understand that every company has different pricing, but the amount was so far outside the range of the other estimates that I questioned whether they were genuinely interested in earning my business. What bothered me most was the sales approach. After presenting a proposal in the $150,000-$200,000 range, I felt pressured to sign a contract immediately. For a project of that size, I believe homeowners should be encouraged to take time to review the proposal, compare contractors, and make an informed decision, not be pushed to commit on the spot. I also asked what their vision was for my kitchen and requested to see any preliminary ideas or sketches so I could better understand what I would be getting for such a significant investment. I was told, "I don't work for free." While I understand that detailed design work has value, it was difficult for me to consider spending $150,000-$200,000 without seeing any concept or direction for the project. My immediate thought was, "I'm not going to spend that kind of money when I don't even know what I'm getting." After the meeting, Kari reached out and asked for my feedback. I responded honestly and respectfully, explaining my concerns in detail. Unfortunately, I never received any acknowledgment or reply. Everyone's experience may be different, but mine left me feeling pressured, overwhelmed, and uncomfortable rather than informed and confident. UPDATE: Three years on and I can no longer say LYD's work was completely satisfactory. A few months after the renovation we had a sewage-like odor in our bathroom. We thought maybe it was the toilet. We bought a new toilet and had it professionally installed. The plumbers didn't notice anything wrong with the waste pipe connection. For three total years the smell persisted. Finally we hired more plumbers specifically to diagnose this issue. They blew smoke down the vent pipe on our roof and the whole house immediately filled with smoke, indicating a major hole somewhere. They opened up the bathroom drywall while we watched and we all let out a collective gasp when we saw the issue (see picture). Seemingly one of the original workers sawed through the internal vent pipe from the sink leading to the vent stack and either didn't notice or covered it up. We have had no work done to that wall since LYD's work. We also have pictures of the fully opened wall as LYD was starting work and the pipe does not appear cut in the photos. So we feel confident saying this issue was caused by LYD. read more

Contracted to upgrade our 33-year-old very large deck that was built in 1992. LYD rates 5 because everything agreed to in the beginning was fulfilled and beyond. Arie Skatkov and his team did an awesome job. They were able to build a privacy screen for our deck beyond what they had plan to do. It came out very nice. The deck is absolutely beautiful and built to last for the next 25 years. The deck is multi-tier railing systems constructed. They worked out all the engineering and permit sign offs so that the city has proper records of the structural change. Contracted to remove a large deck that was at end of life and replace it with a new long-lasting composite deck. 5 stars because everything agreed to in the beginning was fulfilled by the company. They went above and beyond what was agreed to in writing and added lattice fencing around the base of the completed deck. Deck is sturdy and absolutely beautiful. We purchased a 1962 mid-century house with lots of custom woodwork, baseboards, wainscotting, etc.  It hadn't been remodeled in quite a long time, and really needed some attention and love.  We decided on the home originally because we wanted it updated while preserving the fantastic historical elements.  After quoting out with several different contractors, we went with LYD not primarily because of cost, but because of the relationship.  LYD was willing to work with us and let me do some of the work in certain places, and add on additional scope where needed.  Their team was absolutely excellent - some of the tile work I requested was unusual in that I wanted to use scavenged tile from countertops to extend the tile on the floor, and you absolutely cannot even tell the old from the new tile.  They fixed and touched up the poor paint job that the sellers had done, worked with us from the beginning to execute our vision, and made many recommendations to improve on what we had in mind.  Towards the end of the project, a friend asked us, "There's always a horror story associated with every remodel - what's yours?"  We couldn't answer because we couldn't think of a single thing that went wrong.  We're thrilled with our newly remodeled home and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come. read more

Mike came and checked project and gave a quote on site. Was pushy to get us to sign. We signed the next day but after he brought the engineer project manager. Mike called me and said the project will cost 4-5 times what he originally quoted. He kept explaining it's my fault but I did nothing just show him the job so I am unsure why it was my fault he misunderstood the job. Overall just be careful the first quote is not by licensed person who knows what they are doing. Working with LYD was an absolute breeze. The scope was primarily doing tile work on a bathroom I'm in the process of building in my basement. I had them install radiant heat flooring, stone tile on the floor, and subway tile on 1 wall as well as the shower. I didn't choose them because they were the cheapest, though they were competitive.
