The time issue was simply that the projects took a bit longer than we'd planned. The time problem though was at least partly our fault (changing our minds about design, etc), and that was compounded by suppliers actually sending the wrong product on occasion, so certainly not all a Wise Choice issue. Other than that, they were great to work with, very pleasant people all around, very conscientious (cleaning up work spaces thoroughly every day), and the entire project came in under budget! We will definitely reach out to them again for our next remodel.

We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. Absolutely terrible experience. It started with them coming out to do a bid on a window…read morereplacement. The person that came out, struggled to get the measurement, but was pleasant. I was clear that this job would require scaffolding and was tricky to get to. They sent me a bid, which seemed pretty low, but after speaking with other providers I went with Elite Pacific. Communication slowed from there, but they eventually got back to me and asked to remeasure the window. The person came out and remeasured, during that time she was complaining about the company and how they promised her a "glazer" position. Regardless, after that they went completely dark for about 4 days. I finally called and got ahold of Omid. Omid apologized and said they had to remeasure (3rd time). I asked why, he said that the original measurement was incorrect and the 2nd measurement never got to them because the person quit. Although frustrated, I said fine, and they sent two guys, much more knowledgeable than the others to remeasure. Again, they were pleasant and asked to take the trim off the window. I was fine with this, but it did expose mold (the window was leaking), this is key to this review. After the last measurement (3rd time), they went dark again. I finally got ahold of Omid (after around 5 days) and he said that he was sorry, he had to rebid the project, because they had NOT considered all the scaffolding necessary. Even though I was frustrated, I said fine and awaited the updated bid. I waited about 3 more days, but the bid never came to me. I called, which thery did not answer, left a voicemail, waited another day, with no response. Over the next 7 days, I called about 5 times, left voicemails, and sent 4 emails directly to Omid. I never received a reply. This is not a professional company. I believe they are a company owned by a bigger company (as you go through a messaging service each time you call). I also believe they were screening my calls. The simple truth, is that they did not want to do this job, which is fine, but then just inform me. I am also pursuing a complaint with the BBB, because they did expose mold in my home, which I had to cut out of the drywall myself. I wasted weeks with them because they did not have maturity to simply say "not interested". To compare, there were three other companies that said, because of the location, this was not the job for them and suggested other providers. I cannot stress this enough, stay away. They do not deserve your business.

I don't know how or why he came to that conclusion in our brief phone conversation, but I told him I wasn't looking for the "cheapest", I was looking for the best solution. He scheduled a visit and did some measurements and we discussed possible options. I also let him know I was interested in kitchen redesign so that I could have a bigger fridge but he didn't seem interested and just went back to the powder room. When he was done, he said it would take about two weeks for a quote but I may need to reach out to him again. I asked if he had a card and he said no, then left. That was on June 11 and now it's July 28. If a business wants my business, they would send a quote. Maybe my little job isn't worth their time because business is booming, who knows. When your gut tells you they aren't interested, listen to your gut.

This was my first time hiring a contractor. I had previously acted as the general contractor for our other two bathrooms, and my husband and I did those remodels ourselves, so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted--and also plenty of lessons to learn along the way! One of the biggest advantages of working with Doru was his pricing. His quote was extremely competitive compared with other contractors in the area, some of whom quoted us 2-3 times more. We did have to manage purchasing our own cabinets, tub, tile, lighting, fixtures, etc., but that gave us the flexibility to shop at our preferred stores and save money. **A couple of lessons I learned:** Make sure you have all of your materials onsite before construction starts. There were a few times we were waiting for items I had ordered, which slowed things down. Had I used some of Doru's preferred suppliers, that probably wouldn't have happened. Also, if possible, I recommend having someone home during construction. I couldn't be home because of work, but my husband was, and that worked out well. Doru was consistently on time--sometimes even early--which is rare in the construction industry. He's also incredibly versatile and was able to handle a variety of jobs himself, including light electrical work such as changing light types and wiring and installing/replacing electrical outlets. The only time he brought in an electrician was for our heated floors because they required additional breakers in our electrical panel. And by the way, **I highly recommend heated bathroom floors!** They aren't hot; they're just comfortably warm/room temperature, which means no more freezing feet first thing in the morning. The project started with demolition, which Doru completed in just **one day**. From there, he handled the framing and coordinated his regular team of skilled subcontractors. One thing I appreciated about Doru is that he genuinely wants you to be happy with the final product. He doesn't try to push his own design preferences on you. When I asked for his opinion, he would explain the pros and cons of different options, but ultimately left the decision to me. I changed my mind a couple of times during the project--including the ceiling lighting and tub surround--and even though those changes created additional work, he made the requested changes without charging us extra. His team was excellent as well. Emmanuel, his tile professional, did an incredible job and really made the bathroom come together. He also installed our cabinets and crown molding, and his attention to detail was impressive. The drywall professional was extremely fast and efficient using Quick Set 5. We did need a second trip because of some ceiling corrections, but overall the work moved along quickly. Our project took about six weeks from start to finish, although some of that time was due to delays with materials I had selected and our family vacations. Realistically, I think the actual construction could have been completed in around four weeks if everything had been onsite and we hadn't had scheduling interruptions. What really stood out to me was Doru's follow-through. He has checked in with us multiple times since the project was completed to make sure we're still happy with everything. We are! I actually made one poor choice myself when selecting our tub faucet--it takes about 20 minutes to fill our large tub. Doru even offered to come back and replace it once I find a better faucet, which says a lot about the kind of contractor he is. **If you're looking for a highly skilled, dependable contractor at a competitive price, I would absolutely recommend Eagle Remodel and Construction.** I think they're an especially great choice if you're comfortable purchasing your own tile, cabinets, fixtures, lighting, tub, etc. and want more control over your budget and selections. If you're looking for a completely hands-off experience where you walk into a showroom, select everything through the contractor, and have them handle every purchase, a larger remodeling company may be a better fit--but you'll likely pay significantly more for that convenience. He was very good…read moreat responding to text messages, worked us in quickly, and was flexible when Home Depot delayed our order. He was also very good at fitting the new AC into the space for the old one and ensuring it was sealed and weather proofed. However, when he finished the work, he left large boxes and packing materials scattered where he opened them and filling our kitchen floor and on the dining room table. He didn't do anything to organize the mess or break down the boxes. He said most of it was recyclable and he wouldn't do anything with it. Left us to clean up after he left and figure out how to manage and get rid of these large heavy boxes. Additionally, he had put the old AC on our deck. We asked if he would recycle the old AC and he agreed - charging us an additional $200 to take it. When he put it on our deck, it left piles of black (not sure what) that we had to clean after he left. Additionally, I had purchased a new bracket to support the new air-conditioner. He decided without consulting me to use the old bracket instead. (Hopefully it last for the long run!)

I had another company look at this, but they would have degraded the solarium by extending the roof in a way that would have diminished the value of my house. Final Touch Showroom came in and appreciated the value of the existing setup and came up with a proposal that preserves one of the most unique parts of my house. The design met my expectations. The quality of the work was good. They did struggle a little bit on timing, but the communication was good throughout the project. Before the project was done, there was a minor water leak discovered, and they were out here the same day with a large crew and they fixed it, even though it meant taking apart a lot of what they had been working on. They have one skilled painter who has a finer eye for detail than any other workman I've interacted with. He came back multiple days because the rain was interfering with his paint job, and he redid some pieces of work that others completed in a less diligent manner. The end result is I can trust what they've done. Cost-wise, they weren't the cheapest, but they are an established business with insurance, and they do things right. And they went above & beyond expectations with design suggestions, and they threw in some vacuuming and yardwork as well to ensure the house stayed clean and the yard was presentable. Sharon and Liam were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them for a complex home remodelling project.

Final Touch gave us two separate quotes, one for the material alone and the other one including the installation. They're a licensed contractor as well and took care of all the parts of the project.
