My wife Karen and I had wanted to remodel our kitchen for some time. I have completed extensive remodelling of several homes in the past including work on our current home and wanted to remodel our kitchen as well. Unfortunately, I have to update my previous 5-star review after a subsequently negative experience working with Liran and the team at Level Up Construction. I've written 10 reviews on Yelp so far, and this is my only negative one. We had originally brought Liran in to replace our siding, which -- to their credit -- they did well. Working with them during the initial project was smooth and without any issues. However, after they were finished, we noticed that they removed (and had not replaced) our roof exhaust vents. Liran initially offered to reinstall the vents for free, but later backed out -- saying that the original vents that were in place were ineffective, and that he didn't feel comfortable adding them back in. We were surprised in his change of heart, but nevertheless respected his opinion. After all, we didn't want him installing anything that he didn't feel confident in. However, even after telling Liran that we were open to exploring other solutions (and were willing to pay for them), Liran repeatedly ignored our requests and never even sent over a quote. Over time, Liran's communication waned from giving infrequent responses to eventually none at all. Completely left in the dark from Liran and his team, we ended up spending several thousand dollars with another company to complete the work that Liran had originally committed to doing. read more

Working with Liran and Level-Up construction's team has been a great pleasure. We wanted to convert our family room into a bedroom and so the main work involved was creating a full bathroom from scratch. Add to that there wasn't any crawlspace below this room and had concrete underneath. 3 main things stood out working this company: 1) Professionalism and technical knowledge: Liran knew exactly what needed to be done, he planned every work in detail even factoring in some of the potential unknowns that may show up once we do the demolition. Another key thing was him going by the book and ensuring at all stages the right permits are being taken care of (by their company). This has been such a relief and peace of mind for us, as we have heard stories from friends how they have grappled with understanding every rule, chasing the permits or coordinating with the county. 2) Timeliness: We were on a very crunch timeline as we had some guests coming over during summer but Liran ensured that he is always on top of things and barring some minor finishing touches - we were able to complete the work in the planned timeline. 3) Ease of operations: This was another key consideration for us. We don't have as much technical know how and what issues may happen in this ~40 year old home. Liran personally visited our home almost every day taking stock of the progress and what needs to be done next. He would also educate and explain us so that we understand things in detail. Another aspect is the cleanliness - my wife is allergic to dust but then their team ensured that little to no dust comes out of the work area and that everything is cleaned up after the end of days work everyday. When the project completed, not once but twice Level-up arranged deep cleaning of the entire space as they themselves realized that it needed one more round. We are very happy with Level-up construction and are planning to employ them again for another home project soon (remodeling our kitchen). read more

We worked with Liran and Natali on a full kitchen remodel. The whole experience was super smooth and the outcome was amazing. We will definitely go to Liran for future projects. The process started with Liran responding to my request for a quote on Yelp. Natali and him accommodated my busy schedule and came over to estimate and scope out the project on a Sunday. Rapport with Liran was great and the number he quoted us was very realistic and reasonable. Once we signed the contract, we worked with Natali to design the kitchen. I've attached her mockup of the project. And you will see for yourself the final outcome was exactly in line with the mock-up. Natali had some helpful tips that were incorporated into the final design. After the design was finalized, Natali and Liran worked on getting the city permits. Again, the whole process was seamless and I didn't have to lift a finger. Once they were ready to start construction, my husband and I left for California while Liran and his team worked in the house. It was very easy to trust Liran with our house, and we weren't proved wrong. During demolition, his team found a leaky gas pipe and fixed it right away, without even asking us for extra cash. Liran uploaded pictures to Builder Trend everyday for us to keep track of progress from afar. Along the way, as demolition and the project was underway, Liran had helpful suggestions of additions we could consider like installing new flooring and extra lighting all the way into our living room area. His suggestions were spot on, and his pricing for the add on work was very reasonable. We are extremely glad to have taken him up on his suggestions because the modifications were exactly what we needed to invest in to make the house even more livable and pretty! When we got back from California, the project was 80% done. Since I was heavily pregnant at the time, Liran did all he could to speed up the process so we could have the house and kitchen to use again. Overall, Liran and his team did an amazing job with the house. He personally supervised all the work and the outcome is gorgeous. We are loving our new kitchen and spending time at home with the new baby and making the most of Seattle spring-summer weather. Liran's team is finishing up the siding install from yesterday by painting the wood while we have a few days of good weather. He has updated the app as he said several times a week with new photos and statements of update on the progress of the job. Whenever I had a question he was never more than about a half hour to an hour away from returning my call answering my message or addressing my concern. They used what looked like high-quality solid cedar heart siding versus the T111 plywood garbage that other contractors quoted and Liran had an eye for quality of construction seems to be pretty good. I've built and design homes myself, so while I am not a novice nor an expert I can tell you that the quality of his construction work is definitely above average an A- and he was quite affordable. When you have work done on a home that is anything other than dealing with the original home builder, you need to have the mindset that it's "when" not "if" something goes sideways or you uncovered an issue that needs solving. You just don't know what is behind a wall or under something until you make a hole to address the issue. This is why I hired a guy like Liran because I didn't want to deal with it and I don't have time to spend my nights and weekends for a month learning siding, structural framing and how to do vapor barriers. So yeah, there were a few small issues that changed and he found a few more feet of rot meant more framing which added to the bid as the project progressed as far as scheduling, power and other fairly normal things but he was quite polite and professional throughout the whole project. I want to give like 4 3/4 stars and would happy to be a reference for people who had questions regarding his work. read more

In the process of renovating our very old house, we received the surprise information that the staircase in the house was unsafe and needed to be completely demolished and rebuilt. During the pandemic, like everyone else, we decided to do a bunch of house projects. As things have calmed down a bit, we decided that our second bathroom project that we barely started was just too big for us and we needed to find professionals to see our vision through. Level Up Construction redid our entire downstairs (half of our house) starting with demolition in September 2022 and wrapping up around April 2023. They completely gutted and rebuilt, including rewiring our electrical, redoing the ancient plumbing, added central air, removing a tiny & terrible spiral staircase and putting in a gorgeous custom staircase, redid our ductwork, and built an amazing bathroom. They worked with us and made sure our new space fit our needs. Liran was always available, and if things went wrong, he was there instantly and was in charge of making things go right again. The subcontractors he hired were all fantastic (except one, but Liran was not at fault and that subcontractor isn't in business any more, and Liran made it right). His guys who do finishing touches, Alan & Jeremy, made our house look incredible. Ovi made amazing cabinets. 7 months ago, my kitchen ceiling started gushing water when our master bathtub pipe burst after silently leaking for years. We lost walls, ceilings, and floors in 4 rooms, and the mold forced us to vacate immediately. The situation was particularly challenging as I homeschool two kids and my wife was pregnant with our third; we spent almost all of our time at home. We went from an absolute disaster to returning home, just in time for the baby, to a beautifully remodeled kitchen, a luxurious high-end master bathroom remodel featuring a quartz slab shower enclosure and bathtub quartz waterfall, and even a new dance studio in our basement - all within a highly competitive budget. Liran's ability to optimize labor and resources is a hallmark of a great general contractor. Initially, I sought out another general contractor - well reviewed, almost 100 reviews averaging 5 stars. But I was disappointed with their estimator's cold and business-like demeanor. Not only was it difficult to schedule an appointment, but the estimator was late in returning a quote that contained careless errors. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was just another number. However, my experience with Liran, the sole proprietor of Level Up, was quite the opposite. He is personable, empathetic, invested, and a terrific communicator. Whenever I reached out to him, I spoke with him directly - never a secretary or an office staff member. If he was in the middle of an important meeting, a return call was never more than 30 minutes away. Liran's exceptional work ethic left us constantly amazed, if not slightly worried for his health :) Liran is a true professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional results. We valued his vast expertise in both construction and insurance matters, and were not at all surprised to learn Liran started at a very young age because his father is a licensed plumber and electrician! Whenever we presented him with project ideas, he was quick to outline potential pitfalls and suggest effective ways to avoid them. His foresight and accuracy were remarkable, but what impressed us the most was his willingness to learn and grow. While our home was being reconstructed, we stayed with two close friends who had built their own home twice. They shared their valuable insights with us and emphasized the importance of finding a general contractor with excellent communication and planning skills to navigate the unpredictable challenges of construction. Fortunately, Liran possessed these qualities in abundance, and our friends were so impressed with his work that they ended up hiring him for a very large project (interior work and exterior terraforming) halfway through ours. Despite being inexperienced with material selection and unsure of what we wanted admist the chaos, Liran never made us feel like difficult clients. He was patient and flexible, always willing to assign his teams to meet our expectations. His designer's eye and great advice were especially helpful, particularly when it came to selecting light countertops and enclosures that opened up our spaces. When we hit hiccups in our project (and every project has many), Liran was always on top of them. He demonstrated his unwavering integrity when he took full responsibility for an unfortunate (and very expensive) miscommunication early on, and again when our fridge was accidentally unplugged during construction and ruined when the food in our freezer rotted inside. When a routine bathroom ventilation fan replacement revealed the builder of our house cut corners and didn't actually connect the ducting, Liran was over at 9pm on a Thursday night to fix it personally with his brother Sam, an HVAC technician. Liran always made us feel safe and well taken care of. Liran's handpicked teams treat him with respect, which reflects his strong leadership skills. He and his crews share great working relationships, often looking like a group of good friends working on a team together. In our project, we were particularly impressed with the meticulous countertop and shower enclosure seams, carefully installed carpets, precise trim and baseboard work, flawless drywall repair and texturing, and expert bathtub and bathroom fixture installations.
