He suggested design improvements that made our kitchen even better than we had envisioned, and we're so glad we trusted his expertise. One of his ideas was to create decorative medallions in our back patio to replace broken tile inserts rather than simply replacing the damaged tiles. The result is stunning and has become one of our favorite features. He also suggested replacing our front entry with the same Dekton material we used in the kitchen, tying everything together beautifully. It looks absolutely fabulous. They are a standard size cabinet sales and install company & do not have custom size cabinets. They didn't have black cabinets that we originally wanted but we do like the dark espresso cabinets we settled on. We also ended up with two deep dead end cabinets vs corner units since they do not do custom sizing. We were, however, highly motivated by their low prices & ability to install both cabinets & quartz counters in one day. The rest of our experience was less important to us than getting a good price and install experience. I noticed a couple earlier reviews marked them down to one star for the customer service. In our experience in the show room, they let you look around independently and don't use high pressure sales techniques; which we appreciated. some of the other reviewers seemed to want a lot of direct personal attention & other sales bells/whistles. If shoppers expect high-end customer service for low priced product, I do see how they can be disappointed. To place an order, take your measurement drawing to the person at the counter. If you use them as installers, they will check your measurements on site prior to install and revise the order, if needed. I do recommend using them to install cabinets, counters, AND pulls since if you make a mistake installing it yourself (drill the wrong holes in the cabinet fronts, etc.) they require you to buy the whole cabinet to replace the parts. They don't sell separate parts like hinges & fronts. We made the mistake of not having them install the pulls & our handyman made a mistake drilling the wrong holes (4" vs 5") for pulls on two drawers. He had to buy two whole cabinets just to replace the drawer fronts. I have marked down half a star for this since they didn't warn us about this policy during our purchase & there was no mention of them installing the pulls during our purchase. Luckily, the cabinets are not super expensive & our handyman thinks he can resell the cabinets with the 4" pull holes. I have further marked down another half star for a couple of small issues during install. 1) They didn't warn us about the very strong & toxic smelling adhesive that would be used for the counter tops. In retrospect, we likely should have been out of the house during countertop portion of install since we all had headaches the next day. 2) There was a small issue with the electrical outlet for the microwave cabinet. They mis-measured where to cut the hole in the cabinet & attempted, to instead, move the electrical. Our electrician popped over during install and told them that wasn't safe. So, they cut an extra hole in the back of the cabinet (where it should have been to begin with) to allow for the outlet. Due to a soffit situation for heating ducts, the right side of the microwave cabinet is permanently closed (as expected) & so we will never see the extra hole at the back of the cabinet & don't really care about it. In all, the price was right for our basement kitchen set-up & has met our expectations.

The main course was supposed to be grilled chicken. Intead we cooked in a pan and then chef finished in oven. The dish was later plated and served to 12 of us. All but one was raw in the middle and required another long finish in the oven. As a result our rice, vegies, and jicama were all long eaten before chicken came back out. Could have been a disaster had I not pointed out the uncooked chicken to the chef.

I got bids from other companies/contractors and I chose to go with Glassic due because he and his business partner Farshad (from a company called Hero Builder) seemed promising. We got the following work done from them - Remodeled 3 bathrooms - Installed hardwood flooring on the bottom floor - Painting - Removal of popcorn ceiling - Addition/moving of a couple windows - Replacement of all doors - A few other relatively minor updates Overall, we are very satisfied with the work that was done. The only things I wish went differently were the pace at which the work was delivered, as it took them a couple months more than estimated, and the finishing of tiling work and painting wasn't the finest. But keeping these two things aside, I was very pleased by my choice of going with Glassic. Mehdi is an awesome guy who will sometimes go above and beyond to make his customer happy. I will definitely choose Glassic for any future house work.

He works methodically, use high quality material and tools, cleans up at the end of each day. He did everything he said he would and more. As an example, he installed two windows and we later changed our mind and wanted them installed differently. He said no problem, smiled, took them out without hesitation and reinstalled them. It took him a few hours, but he wanted to make sure we're 100% satisfied. We also found some unrelated siding issues while he was working at our house and he was willing to take on that project to help us out. Should you hire Glassic? If you're looking for high quality work, willing to pay for it (he isn't the cheapest), and OK with the work taking s bit longer - go with Glassic!! Medhi does the work by himself with one additional worker, so you're dealing with one person from start to finish. He would install any brand and model of Windows you want (If you want something specific, it's mostly up to you do the research, but he's flexible and go with your choice). Alternatively, you can go to with a big company with many vans and installers. It will go faster (but not necessarily cheaper), and you might be limited in what brand of Windows to go with. The person who'll give you a quote won't be the person doing the work. There will be multiple installers working in parallel, so faster but lower quality control. If you have any issues, you'll have to call the office, not ideal. I hope you found this helpful.

I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.
