Excavators NW used a simple inexpensive fix and since then my basement has been dry. We had been quoted by others nearly 10 times what Excavators NW charged. Excavators NW had a much better understanding of the drainage and reasons for the flooding. Their repair included partial sewer drain replacement, French drain, and a sump pump, all of which were a lot less costly and made more sense for our 90-year-old Ballard home than what other companies proposed. I found out Excavators NW do a lot of work to keep houses dry since most of their business is lifting houses and putting in new basements. I knew nothing about the process but was curious and the owner was very accommodating in explaining how he keeps his customers basements forever dry. Super knowledgeable and super nice guy too. We hired Shirey Home Pro for significant deck repair on our 50plus-year-old house: A couple of…read morejoists had rot and the wood deck boards needed replacing despite regular maintenance through the years. At Shirey's suggestion, we used TimberTech Azek boards and found a MAXI version in Coastline grey. We're now done except for the custom railing on order, and couldn't be happier. Lead carpenter Bryan is a deck mastermind who was great at figuring out sound, good-looking solutions to our issues. Both he and fellow carpenter Jeromy were highly skilled and efficient, left the work site immaculate at the end of every day and were also just nice to have around. We like the results so much we added fascia and new board for our catwalks to the original agreement. Shirey's inside staff -- coordinator Ashley and bookkeeper Brenda -- are equally great, and especially good at timely, clear communication. Pricing was reasonable and I bought the bluestone separately from a local supply company at cost, so just labor, sand, gravel and other materials. The project started the following Monday and Desantiel and team were done after 3 days. They picked up the stone on my behalf, so no additional delivery fees. During the entire project they worked diligently and asked a few questions to be sure everything was done to expectations. They worked full days with some rain while lifting 90 lb stones! I recently had GeRoy Construction do some wood repair work on the fascia board of my house. I…read moreinitially thought the entire board would need to be replaced, but Joe and Rex determined that the wood rot wasn't as prevalent as I had thought, and they recommended repairing, sealing, and giving the wood a good thick paint cover (a considerably less expensive job!). I really appreciated their honesty and found their pricing to be very comparable. They were speedy, very friendly, and cleaned up so that I never knew they were there - except of course for my clean new fascia board. Additionally, I am a real estate agent and have hired GeRoy Construction to handle several handy-man type projects for my clients (again - very thorough, honest, and price competitive.) The problem for me was I never received a paper copy of what the total of my charges for the jobs were. So the job is finished, and Ben has to go to his phone to figure out what the final bill is. I paid him. I thought the amount was a bit high, but I paid. Later that same night Ben texted me that there were additional charges for materials. What!!! Well I'm a Christian man but Lord forgive me, I called him every name in the book. Do not hire these people. Firstly they are dishonest, secondly their prices are high. It is nothing more than "Wham bam thank you maam". Just a huge sales pitch and in my opinion a scam.
