We had an absolutely amazing time working with HCC to rebuild our rotting deck. Mark handled our estimate and managed the project, and he did an excellent job explaining the options and pros and cons of each. He was also willing to prepare multiple quotes so we could decide which direction we wanted to go. Throughout construction, he was extremely responsive and communicative, and wanted to make sure we were getting exactly what we expected. Darik performed the bulk of the demolition and construction on his own and did a fantastic job! We feel much safer now because of his work, and he also came up with creative and functional solutions to some design challenges we had, like adding a small door to leave us access under the deck while still blocking the area off so our dogs and other wildlife can't get into mischief. Overall a great experience, and we'll definitely be return customers with future projects. read more

Thanks for acknowledging the fact that you guys don't do these type of work. Their defend to this type of work was because it was the first time they hired the subcontractors who worked in our house. Since I'm have to hire another contractor to do the demo and the re-remodel, the owner agreed to give us a refund after a long talk. Also, as promised with the owner I will update the misleading info I wrote in my previous review. It wasn't Alex who told my electrician to cut the wire, it was the subtractors who they hired who did told my electrician to do so because they had no idea what had to be done. Things I want to add to you guys: (not twisting a single word) 1. Don't say things like "yes this isn't the type of work we do so we are happy to give you a refund. But what's in it for us? don't we deserve for you to do something with your review if we give you a refund? How would we trust you before giving you a refund without hearing what you'll write about us?" --- even though you didn't mean to make it seem like you were bribing me, that is exactly what a bribing is. I won't be adding what you offered to my husband during the initial phone call for the sake of your business. 2. Don't say things like "you guys are in contract, so you still owe us the rest because the bathroom is functional and things you guys are pointing out is just a cosmetic issue" --- if you buy a brand new custom car and you find scratches inside and out, I'm sure you'd be upset if the sales rep said "well, you custom ordered it, so it is your responsibility to pay the full amount under the contract." 3. Don't say a customer is being 'difficult' for rejecting your offer. When a customer can't trust your work anymore, that's a done deal even if you guys are willing to do it for free with a different crew. 4. Don't get personal over a negative review and never target the customer by saying things like "you were personal too". Like I said, you could've simply replied back to my first review to correct the incorrect part of the story. 5. When you guys were more then willing to come in to talk to us about possibly redoing the work yourself, I expected you guys to bring out a meticulous plan. However, when the project manager said "I can talk to my guys tomorrow and call you back tomorrow", that's where you lost me again. I studied business law, so many things you guys said were red flagged but I just didn't say anything to you guys. I hope this review can help you guys to understand the client's perspective because not all projects will be easy. Either way, thanks again for coming out so late with your crew. It's always hard to find a contractor for a small project and HHC did the job quickly, and we had an excellent experience with them. I got three quotes to hang a 400 lb porch swing on the front porch, along with putting some supporting joists on the roof. Theirs was not the lowest quote, but they were available sooner than the other company. We were very pleased with their professionalism. Vlad was awesome. He came back a second time to fix the height of the swing after some of the knots settled and the swing became lopsided. We've been using the swing on a daily basis for over a month now and it's such an awesome addition to our porch. Also, Andrey came by and he hung a heavy brass mirror for me free of charge. They were super engaged for multiple months in scoping, estimation and re-estimations as it was a commercial project. Right after awarding the project, magically their cost went up by 200% effectively doubling the cost. Interestingly, every estimate earlier had all the parts, quantities and labor detailed and captured. There was no change in plan at the time of awarding the contract and hence there should have been no cost bump. Home care couldn't explain the reason behind the astronomical increase in cost with the same parts, quantities, labor and plan as that of the last few quotes. Finally I had to hire real professional company causing considerable time delays and cost additions due to the time delay. For those in to serious business may want to stay away from Home Care or award at your own risk. read more

They tiled the walls, installed new plumbing fixtures, and built a beautiful tub surround with cedar planks. I chose HCC for a full home remodel based on their reviews. I wish a read a review outlining an experience similar to mine so I could steer clear of this company. I bought a house last year that needed a full remodel. Like everyone else, we wanted the work done in a timely manner so we could move in. HCC promised a quick turnaround and we figured worst case we'd be in our house within a couple months. We started design in June and weren't able to move in until November. The worst part of it all is my house still isn't done and none of the work was permitted. Corners were cut everywhere (I'm not an expert and they knew no one else would check their work), quality of work was subpar, and I was the project manager for most of it. I paid HCC thousands for project planning but I was the only one monitoring the execution. After paying my 40% down, HCC never came to my house. They relied on a narrative from the contractors and forwarded pictures to me that were taken by them. This project was doomed from the start. So, back to the permits. Again, I'm no expert and I don't know what work needs to be inspected. Unless you know what's required, there's an element of trust with your general contractor. They know exactly what needs to be permitted, that's their job. Without a permit, PSE won't turn on gas to my house. The plumbing under the kitchen sink is egregious and never would've passed an inspection. One of the circuits they added isn't grounded (very dangerous). The list goes on and these wouldn't be issues if there were permits. When I asked HCC why they weren't doing permits, they turned it on me and said it's because I wanted the job done quickly... Our contractor doing the work (Reuben) was cordial, but he was clearly overstretched and it affected his work. The fit and finish just wasn't there, and as mentioned previously corners were cut all over the place. If HCC did what they were supposed to do, run the project, actually check in on the house, and get the permits, then this could've been avoided. Ultimately, there was no accountability for the work being done so of course significant parts of the project didn't go as planned. I had an appointment yesterday with one of the owners, Ilya, to go over our project (that's been going on for over a year now) and he was a no-show. I called and he rescheduled to today. You can guess what happened again today - another no-show. I really want to be done with this nightmare, but it just won't end. If you're thinking about going with HCC, please learn from my experience and reconsider. If you know what needs to be permitted, you're assigned a decent contractor, and have a PM who does their job, you might have a better experience. But knowing what I know now, I never would've rolled the dice with this company. One more piece of advice: after your down payment, don't give them a dollar until the work is *completely* done. They'll want you to pay them more along the way as work is being done, but at a certain point you lose your leverage and you're in the same boat as me. Don't do it. read more

We needed the soffit, the underside of our eave, replaced all around our house, and called three different contractors. We were impressed by Vitaliy of Home Care Construction and how well he listened to what we wanted. He repeated back to us what we were looking for, called out his crew, and we all walked through the job together. My husband and I were impressed by the crew's efficiency, but mostly by Vitaliy's communication skills. Every time I texted, emailed or phoned, Vitaliy responded immediately. I worked with Home Care Contractors on redoing our deck and adding an awning to it. It ended up the whole railing and half the deck was rotted and needed to be replaced, so we ended up having a much bigger project than we expected. I couldn't be happier with the finished job, but I really had to push to get what I wanted done right. I think I may have had a newer builder, so there were some communication issues. I had to ask for things to be changed, paint touched up and even finished, and the clean up was only ok. Paint got on my plants and yard, tape was left on my house. I think all would have been great, but there was just a lack of professionalism. The team worked well with me on pricing and negotiation and in the end did everything they could to make me happy, but it just felt more stressful than I wish it would have been. Again, the work was great, but I just with the process to get there had been a little easier. read more

We have a 4-plex and the back staircase was in dire need of an update. It was such a hazard with rotted wood, missing balusters, and overall looked worn. We had Ilya come out and give us an estimate. It came in lower than other bids we had gotten. He also pointed out things that other contractors had missed. We had a date for 3 weeks out (which is to be expected) but they ended up being available much sooner. Ilya was so good about keeping me updated about start dates, start times and even when his team was running late. This is very rare and was pleasantly surprised at how communicative they were. The job was finished just as he had estimated and we even saved money because they came in under their estimated cost for materials. HCC provided fair estimates of the work to be done, provided accurate start date, and completed the projects quickly. The rot and carpenter ant damage on the garage was more extensive than initially expected and extended throughout the garage door beam. HCC provided an additional, fair estimate to do the added work. Didn't have a good first impression with them. I requested a bid for two bathrooms that needed remodeling. They were prompt and showed up on time and took all the notes. On the way out they told my husband that I can expect to get a bid in a few days. An entire week goes by... nothing. I reached out to him and he said, "So sorry! It must have not sent, let me check." 3 more days go by... nothing. I had to reach out AGAIN and he says "Oh so sorry! I think the estimate got deleted so i'll have to come out and re-do the bid." He never reached out to me again. Very unimpressed. I get it, accidents happen, but they are lacking the follow through. Vadim and his team came out to do a couple of small sheetrock and texturing repairs in our house following concern that we had acquired termites. They were so nice and considerate in their work. They put covers down on the floor and over the furniture and were very prompt in arriving when they said they were going to. They were also very patient in coordinating their work with the exterminator, since he had to spray between opening the wall and repairing the sheetrock. This was a very small job, well below the scale of their usual projects, but they didn't treat it as any less important. I greatly appreciated their willingness to fix my walls and ceiling and would highly recommend them for any future work! read more
