We had refinished our basement in 2008, then, unfortunately had water in the basement that did damage. I shopped around and got different opinions and widely different estimates. Excavators NW used a simple inexpensive fix and since then my basement has been dry. We had been quoted by others nearly 10 times what Excavators NW charged. Excavators NW had a much better understanding of the drainage and reasons for the flooding. Their repair included partial sewer drain replacement, French drain, and a sump pump, all of which were a lot less costly and made more sense for our 90-year-old Ballard home than what other companies proposed. I found out Excavators NW do a lot of work to keep houses dry since most of their business is lifting houses and putting in new basements. I knew nothing about the process but was curious and the owner was very accommodating in explaining how he keeps his customers basements forever dry. Super knowledgeable and super nice guy too. Nice people but quoting 225k for a foundation pour for 980 sq ft is absolutely ridiculously. Build.com quotes it on the high end at 30k. Wasted by time giving a quote prior to surgery. read more

I am a carpenter who had worked with excavators northwest several times throughout the years and i will say they know how to lift a house. However steer clear of any concrete work done by them. We recently worked on a house they poured and i can say without doubt it was the worst job i have ever seen. The stem wall was poured a foot too high, over 2inches out of level and out off square, they misplaced roughly half their spot footings and missed with over half their hold downs. Then when they came out to "fix" their work the employee they sent had no idea what to do and needed our guidance. This cost the homeowner thousands of dollars and our company days to make their train wreck of a foundation buildable. read more

Excavators NW just finished a great job on re-doing our porch, which had sunk, taking with it the roof and side of the house. They gave us a fair bid, stuck to it, and did detailed, excellent work. Everyone on the crew was friendly, respectful and great with our neighbors, who share a driveway with us. They finished the work in a timely manner and left the work space looking better than they found it, even watering my plants, which had suffered a little from neglect. When the work required more than we discussed, they did the extra work at minimal cost. I cannot say enough about how professional and great they were. I would highly recommend them. read more

These guys are great. I met them when I was looking at purchasing a different house, where they gave me excellent advice. I got a good feeling from them then, so I was glad I could work with them on the house I ended up buying. They fixed a rotten sill plate and rim joist in my house, where water had been collecting due to the driveway being improperly poured. They came in with a fair bid, and stuck very close to it even when the job proved to be a bit more complicated than anticipated. They were nice, efficient and honest, and I feel like my house was well taken care of. They also gave helpful advice about dealing with the drainage issues that led to this problem, since we're trying to do all the work ourselves (except for cases like this, where the house needed to be jacked up). I definitely recommend then for structural repairs. read more
