That company left a complete mess (and a huge invoice significantly above their bid). We asked Robert to come estimate on the filling of these two holes as well as to fix the newly broken downspout drainage pipe (the original company also burst the main water pipe). Also asked him about some asphalt areas that were affected by tree roots. Hired him to do all of it. They did a great job filling, removing, and paving. Everything was also completed before deadline and any debris was cleaned up. In the future, my plan is to hire him to seal my asphalt. His price is very competitive also. And scheduling was easy. I would give TRJ Construction 10 stars if I could! I'm still in awe of the work Roberto and his crew performed in only 2 days, one of which was during a wild rainstorm! I posted a request on Yelp for masons to give me an estimate to widen my driveway. This entailed removing an existing concrete wall, hauling it away, removing the dirt, installing a drain pipe behind the wall, adding gravel, installing concrete blocks to build the new wall, and filling it back with dirt. Out of the 6 masons contacted, one never answered; another said they don't work with concrete; three gave me estimates that were THOUSANDS of dollars more than TRJ (over $6,000 more). Roberto answered me immediately, came to my house, gave me an estimate right away, and performed the job exactly how and when he said he would. They made sure my drain was working perfectly before they left. They removed all of the moss and plants growing in the driveway and added gravel on the side where the retaining wall had been so it was smooth and blended perfectly. And that was not all! His crew took care to replant a large fern and, as an extra favor, they shoveled the pile of garden soil that was already in my driveway on top of the new area for me. Worked with Roberto on a new concrete slab, broom finish. He and his team were efficient, fast and cleaned up after like they had never been there! A supposed employee of the company came by and looked at our chimney which he saw needed work. He looked at the job and said he would get us an estimate. The next day he showed up again and was writing out his proposal. He then said he would email the proposal to me as the document didn't have enough room to write it out. He said that he would email the proposal to me. He never returned or sent me any proposal. I was very unimpressed and later contacted another business who came by the same day and explained what needed to be done and gave us a proposal. The quality of work and final product are great. But the communication was poor, almost as if they were taking advantage of my inability to understand spanish. The first order of stones were not the stones we ordered, their mistake. They WAY over estimated the amount of stones needed, to the tune of about 5 pallets, and left them for us to get rid of. In the end, we paid approximately 15k more than originally quoted. I feel like we were taken advantage of because we didn't understand the reasoning for the price increase.
