Ya'll, listen, Gerard's Landscaping is GREAT! I wanted a fence built, a flagstone path laid, and a…read moreretaining wall built. I talked to multiple contractors - some who just didn't call back, a few who said they couldn't (wouldn't) build the fence I wanted, and frankly, a few that I just didn't like. Gerardo showed up, chatted with me about what I wanted, took measurements, and gave me a bid on the spot. I was moving into a house I was rehabbing and needed a portion of this fence done right away because I have a dog and he hustled to not only build the new portion I needed, but went out of his way to do some repairs on the existing fence to keep my dog safe and secure. He and the people working for him showed a lot of attention to detail, checked in with me often about the project to make sure it was coming along and looking as I expected, and every day at the end of the day the work site was clean and organized. I'm planning some plant installations and a new deck and Gerard's Landscaping is going to be my first call!

Giving them 1 star for the poor communication. Sent them communication via yelp. I wanted my…read morebackyard to be leveled and some walking steps to be added. They asked me technical questions on the grade for my backyard and the kind of material i need for the steps, which i had no clue about. So I told them that i would need guidance. They sent me a very lengthy message. Whoever was responding, was in the field and took time out to respond and didnt like that I had not done my due diligence. They told me that the market has changed and they need their customers to do some research. Then they gave me an arbutrary deadline to join a COMPLIMENTARY 10min call. The number of red flags in 1 message exchange. First of all, if you are in the field don't respond to the message or hire someone who can do it without getting upset that their customer do not know what they need.

Vans Landscape to the rescue! Summarizing for those that…read moredon't like to read a lot - My experience with Van and his team were great! Van was clear in communication - we accomplished a lot via text messaging; they were fast in execution and implementation and amazing in clean up. I can easily, and heartily, recommend and refer Vans Landscape (vanslandscape.org)! About my tag line - I'm not exaggerating when I lead with 'to the rescue', let me provide some details for context ... I'd previously hired a different landscaping service to do some fairly major change, cleanup and renovation work for my small space. In the end, that other landscaper's description of the work, including rendered images of what the finished product was to look like - did NOT match the result. Enter the home owner's association ... where they reminded me that what they approved and what they saw - wasn't the same. Yeah - it was so bad that multiple neighbors and the HOA 'expressed concern'. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, discouraged, disappointed. I'd just moved into my space a couple of months ago, all the hope and optimism that comes from moving into a new space, being a new home owner and looking to fit into the community. Yikes! How much would a correction cost me? Could I trust another landscaping service? How long would it take? How much would I be fined by the HOA? I took a couple of days to organize my thoughts, and began the search for another landscaping service and came across Vans Landscape. Van scheduled a time to visit my space. He patiently listened to my situation while we walked my small property. He kindly and respectfully offered some alternative suggestions. I had been so distracted by my disappointment and frustration with the situation, that Van's suggestions 'cut through' - they are much better looking and functioning solutions. Thank you, Van - I am grateful! In the end, I'm proud of how things now look. My small rock front yard has a clean, low and gradual, retaining wall that goes up the street, an extended retaining wall along a shared property line and some new arborvitae for privacy in my back patio - resolving concerns and issues for the front and giving me some privacy on my back patio! My neighbors have remarked that 'It (the retaining wall) is beautiful', 'Looks so much better', and 'Should we add them to the list for the HOA?' (Yes!) It may sound silly, but I did feel 'rescued' - someone helped me when I genuinely needed it; resolving my real issues, improving curb appeal, and resolving my neighbors and HOA concerns. My future plans include Van's ... When I'm done, and with HOA approval, I'll be asking Van to give me an estimate on my ideas. Again, my experience with Van and his team were great. I easily recommend and refer Vans Landscape (vanslandscape.org)** for your next project or for landscape maintenance as their attention and commitment to detail was made clear. **Yeah - I listed the site as there's a few Van's Landscape sites out there; I want you to have the one I used.

I had a very positive experience with Van's Landscape while getting bids for my mom's property…read morecleanup project. Their quote was fair and competitive -- ultimately I decided to move forward with someone who came directly recommended by a friend, but Van's pricing was absolutely in line with the market and within about $100 of my lowest quote out of five different providers I interviewed. The scope included a full spring cleanup of a heavily overgrown yard, including mowing, pruning, weeding, pressure washing, bark installation, and repairing a distressed gravel pathway. Their pricing was very much on par with the other companies I met - for that large service, as well as ongoing bi-weekly yard care. They were on time, responsive via text when confirming the verbal quote and providing additional pricing details, and overall very kind, transparent, and fair throughout the process. Even though I went a different direction for this particular project, I would absolutely feel comfortable recommending them in the future. The experience was easy, professional, and very competitively priced.

Our yard got to be a bit of a mess and we decided Wednesday we would look at getting a landscaper…read moreout to do a one-time cleanup. We have had some mediocre landscape companies in the past and were a bit nervous about wait times and having to 'start over' with our landscaper search. We were looking to do weeding (like...a LOOOOOT of weeding), a small amount of plant/tree/bush trimming, add a layer of topsoil in the back garden, and a layer of beauty bark in the front, side of house, and back yard gardens. I contacted O&E through Yelp Wednesday late, and Osmar wrote back by the next morning saying he was available to come look at the property. We arranged a time to meet, and he was on time, friendly, and had great ideas. He told me he'd follow up same-day with a quote. He came back with a quote that was more than reasonable AND told me he could do the work that Sunday! Not only that, but he offered to bring by a sample of the mulch/beauty bark we were talking about the next day before scheduling. He came by as discussed, showed us the sample, and covered off on the scope one more time. On Sunday, Osmar and a crew member came by promptly as they stated at 8:30AM. They were immediately to work at a pace I couldn't comprehend. Not only did they weed in 1 hour what would've easily taken me several weekends to do, they did much better than I would have with the proper tools. They finished the weeding, pulled some plants we asked them to pull, beautifully shaped our front garden plants and a few others they noticed needed some help with their shape, and then they started edging! We didn't even ask them to do this, but it looks so wonderful. They cleaned all of the debris up from weeding as they went along and used a blower between steps to keep things as clean as possible. After cleanup, they started adding topsoil. They went above and beyond and put soil on ALL of the beds, not just the back! They did a thick layer, too. After the soil, they leveled it well and began adding the beauty bark in a thick layer. They had such a great eye for detail - they carefully moved several of our garden sculptures and planters to get the soil and mulch in evenly and properly and put them back exactly as they were. Once completed, they MOWED OUR LAWN (which we also never asked them to do)! When they left, everything was tidy, and no debris was left behind, not even in the street as they packed their trucks and drove off. Throughout the initial communication to the very end of the project, O&E went above and beyond our expectations in service and work. I've never had an interaction with a landscaping company turn out this wonderful. Even though this was a one-time project, I'm now looking at working with them on a regular cadence for maintenance and helping keep things tidy. Give O&E a call, you won't be disappointed! Fair pricing, good people, hard workers, talented folks. [I will take pictures and update my review tomorrow with them; I'm writing this late and it's dark]
