We had water leaking into our basement and get estimates from 3 contractors. Branden responded promptly and did a thorough job assessing the site and diagnosing the issues. He noticed some foundation settling but did not try to up-sell a repair that he did not think we needed. Instead, he focused on improving our footer drainage. The crew (Tommy, Zach and Caden) arrived on schedule, and worked in very cold conditions, quickly and efficiently. They completed work as planned and cleaned up the site to my satisfaction. The bid from SFR was neither the lowest, nor anywhere near the highest. But the knowledgeable estimator, the low-pressure collaboration to define the project, and the quick, efficient completion of the work, made them the best choice. read more

I signed a contract with SFR in January to repair a significant dip in my home's interior floor and install drainage from my gutters to prevent further damage. The bid included handling the permitting process, which I paid extra for. The project began in March and was supposed to take two weeks. However, halfway through, the city shut it down because SFR had failed to secure any of the required permits. From that point on, I had to take over the entire permit process myself. SFR was completely unhelpful. They ignored emails, delayed responses for weeks (sometimes over a month), and even argued with the city's permitting office because their bond didn't meet the city's requirements. The only reason the project was able to continue at all was due to the city's flexibility--not SFR's efforts. It's now August, and the permits are just being finalized--something that should've taken less than a month. We chose SFR because their proposal seemed the most comprehensive. It came at a high cost, but they gave the impression they knew what they were doing. In reality, there was a major disconnect between the salesperson and the crew doing the work. The installer was unaware of several things included in the bid, and I was constantly stuck in the middle, explaining what we paid for and what still needed to be done. After most of the work was finished, the original floor dip was still there. When I contacted SFR, the salesperson came back and said it would cost another $15,000 to fix--on top of the $75,000 we'd already spent. I tried to work with them to reduce costs, but they refused to use any standard or affordable materials and insisted on their proprietary "special" products. At that point, we were done. Even closing out the project was a headache. It took over six weeks just to get a response so we could review the final costs. I had also paid them to remove the large pile of dirt left over from their work, but the crew only hauled away half. I had to schedule another visit just to get the rest removed. I've worked with a lot of contractors--some good, some bad--but SFR has been by far the worst. They were uncommunicative, disorganized, and unwilling to take responsibility for their mistakes. If you're thinking of hiring them, I urge you to reconsider. I'm out $75,000, and my home looks exactly the same. It was the worst investment I've ever made, and I hope no one else has to go through what I did. read more

The gentleman, Anthony, that first came out to give us a quote was much more of an advisor versus someone just trying to make a sale, which was ultimately the reason we ended up going with this company. They billed me 900 dollars for something they should have done. They promised to bury the concrete they dug up and broke their word. I texted the owner until he stopped responding. My sprinkler company dug up the location where Seattle Foundation broke it and showed it to them. They said they would pay for the repair work ($1200) but never did. Do not use them! I've heard tales of a mythical unicorn, a dyed in the wool honest workman. It's no longer a myth; I've met him! Steve Thornton came out to evaluate our house, see if the foundation needed repair. We knew we were looking at a potential significant cost (25K) and, to be honest, I was sweating bullets. Steve came in, took 1/2 hour to assess the house, took measurements, drew out a sketch. Afterwards he sat down, explained his findings, the options, and his recommendation: to leave it. There's a slight slope, but not a major concern. Seriously! They left the area cleaner than when they arrived and even cleaned off my front steps which I appreciated. They were working in a pretty tight space but were able to make it work. Eugene, Sam, and the crew from Seattle Foundation Repairs did a good job helping us upgrade our downspout drainage system during the rain season. The upgrade was very effective really made a difference! It successfully led the water away from our foundation on those crazy raining days. They were diligent and punctual, also very careful about the details such as the grading of the pipes, etc. Although one of the pipe was installed a bit too shallow in the first installation (which prevented us from putting our paver back), Eugene took the action and came back as soon as they can to redo that part, and even put the paver back for us to make sure it is properly installed. My only nitpick is that the results where the downspout "connects" to the catch basin are not as aesthetically pleasing as I had wished, but otherwise they did a pretty good job. read more

He patiently explained things to me and showed me what was done right and wrong with my house. He recommended waiting to see how my basement does in the first few months of winter and said if it were his house, he'd just leave the problem spot I was concerned about be. I appreciated his honesty as he could have easily told me I needed $5-10k worth of repairs. My biggest regret was to hired Seattle Foundation Repair to fix our cracked and sunkened garage and basement. The project manager assured me that they can fix it and it would take 1 -2 days max. I paid them 50% up front and they started work on Oct 20, 2022. The first day they were not able to get anything done because they said they had equipment problems. They show up again a week or so later and again they said they more equipment problems. Each time they showed up and stay for a couple of hours and they're gone. After more than a month, less than 30% of the job was done. They inform me that if I wanted them to complete the work they needed to charge me double the original price we had agreed to. After a full month of delay, completing about 30% of the work and now they want to charge me double to complete the job. I decided I had enough of Seattle Foundation Repair System. I had to hire another foundation company that came out and finish up the entire job in 1 day for half of the cost. read more
